What Do You Think About Obamas Dithering In Afghanistan?

Geraldo Rivera, Ann Coulter & Juan Williams "Debate" Afghanistan

Geraldo Rivera, Ann Coulter & Juan Williams "Debate" Afghanistan     This is an open thread about the "dithering" Obama is doing in Afghanistan. What is the effects of Obamas indecisions on the military? Let us know what your views are as all views have value in this forum.

  1. I wish he'd see the light and get the hell out of Afghanistan. No country has ever been able to occupy Afghanistan. There is no legitimate government there. Karzai only rules in Kabul and the people don't want us there.

We are only making things worse by being there.

I'm glad President Obama has spent a long time considering what to do in Afghanistan, unlike Cheney being a rubber stamp for whatever the military said they wanted.

I'm afraid he's going to make Afghanistan his Vietnam, though and many more American men and women and Afghanis will die as a result.

  2. Hmmm... didn't Obama put McChrystal in his position for his, you know, expertise? Then Obama sits on his ass for 8 months, and still ends up "rubber-stamping" what McChrystal wanted. Sounds to me like Obama just wanted to kill a bunch of Christian soldiers while he dithered.

Bruce, I hope you sent a letter to Obama and the White House telling Obama that you object to being in Afghanistan. I guess I'll be seeing you at the next MoveOn.org rally with a big ol' paper-mache Obama head?

BWAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA... what a bunch of HYPOCRITES!!! LOL

Gosh Bruce, you don't trust Obama after all that TIME he put into going to Copenhagen... oops, I mean playing golf... oops, I mean THINKING about Afghanistan!?

    BWAAAAAAAHAHAHA!!!!

  3. Yes, John, he did put McChrystal, but Obama is the Commander-in-chief, not McChyrstal. Military men always come up with military solutions.

I bet you loved sending more of our soldiers into harm's way when Bush was President, didn't you. I like a thoughtful President. This is an important decision and I hope someone turns him around.

If he sends more troops, I think it will fire up the anti-war movement in this country. Do you expect him to only think about one thing at a time, John? I like a President that can multi-task and has the intellectual power to do so. Bush certainly didn't have that capability.

Believe me, I do not agree with sending more troops and treasure to a contry like Afghanistan that is completely corrupt.

  4. Bruce you changed your tune the second a Democrat was in charge. You are the biggest hypocrite.

  5. Hmmm Bruce, you want to make that bet? How much do you want to bet? Because you would lose it. But I'm sure you are used to losing, you do it so well it looks like you have had a lot of practice.

My point, nimrod, is that if Obama didn't trust McChrystal's recommendation, why did he ask for it?! This is the dumbest president we have ever had, precisely because he THINKS he is so intelligent. Look at that a-hole Obama, taking months to finally come around and agree with the guy whose advice he asked for months ago. Yes, Bruce, I AM aware that he is the Commander in Chief, and Chief Executive of the laws of this land. That is his main job. But he, just like every other President since maybe Grover Cleveland, wants to stick his big F-ING nose in where it doesn't belong, and grab all the power and control he can. He needs to stick to what he was elected to do: commanding the army and enforcing the laws that Congress passes.

Bruce, you idiot liberals were the ones complaining when Bush would go on vacation, and don't say you weren't. Now Obama has golfed in the first 3/4 of a year of his administration more than Bush did in all two terms. And I hear he's off to Camp David again. Boy, he sure does get tired out doing all that thinking.

    ReplyDelete
  6. John, you're kidding, right. Bush spent almost a year and a half of his 8 years on vacation and once was just before 9/11. And he got a warning 9.11 was going to happen and did NOTHING.

Bush took all the advice of his commanders at face value and never questioned it. Just because someone is an advisor, doesn't mean they have the last say. The President has the last say.

You better check your facts, Johnnie boy, on the time off. Bush and the Republicans left one hell of a mess to clean up.

    ReplyDelete
  7. John - An easy google search showed me that Bush spent 487 days at Camp David & 490 days at his ranch. So out of his 2820 days in office he spent 1/3rd of his time not in his office. While they say he spent the most time of any President "on vacation" - the truth is NO PRESIDENT is ever truly on vacation. There is the daily intelligence briefings, and obviously sundry information given him which no matter where he is, he must act on. Complaining about a Presidents recreational activities - even Bush - is so much hyperbole. And by golly, you are right up there with that hyperbole aren't you!!

Lets face it John, if Obama was to sneeze, you'd find something about it to criticize him for! Debate policy decisions - fine, but being picayune about trivial stuff says more about you than Obama.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Bruce - Of course Bush has had more time off, I am not saying that. Bush was president for 8 years. I am talking about golfing dipshit. Bush caught all kinds of hell for golfing. Obama has GOLFED more in less than a year than Bush did his entire 8 years. You check my facts a-hole. I always check yours and prove YOU wrong (every time). Prove ME wrong fuck-o.

Obama is an idiot. He is jacking up everything. Glad you see it my way Bruce. You know what a mess Obama is making in Afghanistan. Great to have you on the team.

  9. Vomamike - My last comment applies to you as well. Dipshits.

  10. John, all I see is your words on the screen, no facts to back up anything, as usual.

  11. Vomamike and Bruce - Is it the reading, or the comprehending that is giving you idiots the trouble? BWAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA

You two have to be the biggest pair of idiots I have ever seen. Of course I'm just getting a taste of what Joey is bringing to the table... that guy might end up giving you two corkeys a run for your money in the lacking mental acuity department.

Hope you didn't strain yourself looking up how many days of vacation Bush took vomamike. Maybe you could put a little of that effort into answering the other many questions I have posed to you and Bruce. Oh, that's right, you idiots would rather address some made-up issue like "OH MY GOD, JOHN JUST CLAIMED THAT OBAMA HAS TAKEN MORE VACATION DAYS THAN BUSH DID I FINALLY HAVE SOMETHING I THINK I CAN PROVE HIM WRONG ABOUT (EVEN THOUGH IT ISN'T WHAT HE SAID AND EVERYONE WHO CAN READ AND COMPREHEND CAN SEE IT) WOOHOO" than a real question. Pussies. BWAAAAAHAHAHAHA

    ReplyDelete
  12. Well Bruce, since I always tell the truth and you always lie, we know that those facts are gold. Prove me wrong bitch.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Bruce - What, do you and vomamike hold hands when you come over to Chris' blog? You two make such a cute pair. But you'd better bring bigger guns than vomamike and dipshit Joey. The combined brainpower of you three couldn't power a gnat's brain.

  14. Bruce - Maybe it's time to post another plea for help on the Democratic Underground?!

    BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHA

I'll help you write it if you have trouble forming questions and spelling words.

Let me know if you need my help. That's what I'm here for Bruce, to help the idiots like you get to their happy place.

    ROFLMAO

When W goes on vacation, how many soldiers will die ?

Edited on Tue Jul-15-03 10:12 PM by protect freedom impe
The Idiot from Connecticut will likely be taking ANOTHER
vacation in the hottest month at his Texas pig farm
    in Crawford.

And how many soldiers will die in Iraq while the
PNAC's White House puppet chops wood and plays
    video games ?

262+, 220 American + 42 British, are dead already from
Bush's illegal war of occupation. Another 1000+ soldiers have
been wounded. Plus the 1000s of Iraqi civilians who are
dead, men, women & children, PLUS the 10s of 1000s of Iraqi
    wounded.

Yet Idiot boy is taking another vacation.

  16. There's plenty more where that came from on your favorite site Democratic Underground, Bruce and Mike. I was frankly astounded at the hate on that web-site. Why don't you a-holes show me where you stood up to the "hyperbole" when Bush was on vacation. Should be easy to find, you guys are such the bastions of truth and honor.

    Hypocritical a-holes.

It is obvious you get all your info from moveon and you puke it all over this blog. Can't you think for yourself?

  19. This is the liberal way.The FBI is investigating terrorism threats posted on a homosexual blog that appear to be aimed at Christians.

Pro-family activists have drawn attention to a disturbing exchange on a homosexual blog run by Joe Jervis of New York. The exchange takes place between individuals named Fritz and Tex in the comment section of a blog discussing the Maine homosexual marriage defeat and pro-family activists Matt Barber of Liberty Counsel and Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth about Homosexuality. LaBarbera says the two commentators discussed carrying out acts of terrorism against Christians.

"One guy [Fritz] sort of raises [the concept] and says, 'well, if Obama doesn't give us what we want, you are going to see a very real potential for violence' -- to quote his words...and then he says, 'well, that is not a good thing,'" LaBarbera reports. "Then another activist comes back and says, 'Well what's wrong with that?'"

In this online conversation, Fritz goes on to say, "This happens in all cases where people are oppressed and lack representation. Our President must wake up and prevent this from happening. Otherwise we will end up like Israel and Palestine. We will have gay and lesbian people strapping bombs to their chests and blowing up churches. All it will take is one or two more losses like this. If marriage equality is taken away in one of the landmark states, we will see domestic terrorism arise very quickly....In 1991, I witnessed gay and lesbian activists setting fire to buildings and beating people with baseball bats in Los Angeles."

Tex replies, "Still not seeing this as a bad thing Fritz...[African gay activists] didn't gain their civil rights through being passive."

LaBarbera goes on to say that he and Barber were then mentioned by name. Tex then contends that "maybe a bit of well organized terrorism is just what we need."

"So you actually have a homosexual activist named Tex on this hateful JoeMyGod website in New York, actually endorsing the idea of violence against pro-family leaders," Labarbera says.

According to Barber, the FBI was alerted to the blog and is investigating the incident. In the wake of the Fort Hood shootings, Barber contends that these threats need to be taken seriously.

In a press release from Liberty Counsel, Barber further notes that another pro-family activist, Maggie Gallagher of the National Organization for Marriage, was also targeted. "A number of posters got on his website and actually called for acts of -- quote -- 'organized terrorism against Christians,'" explains Barber.

  20. There is a quote that hangs on the wall of my classroom that says, "War is an ugly thing. But it is not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling that thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares about more than his own personal safety...that man is a miserable creature, who has no chance of being free unless he is made and kept so by the actions of better men than himself."
I don't know the author of that quote, but I do know that it is one of the most powerfully true statements ever spoken. I also know that it has been read by nearly every student that has come into my classroom, some of whom transitioned from being my students to being my heroes as they set aside their own personal ambition to serve their country.

For the purposes of full disclosure, the next few words I will write are not those of a veteran. I chose, as many do, to go to college right out of high school and serve my country in ways other than military service. Therefore, the position I am about to take in this column is not one born out of any self-serving motive. I do not stand to benefit from this simple proposal. Rather, these are the words of nothing more than a grateful American who believes our country has profited immeasurably from the valor and service of its veterans, and that it is time we do more to say thank you.

Parades, tributes, speeches, and church services are all important ways to demonstrate our thanks. But our veterans, particularly our combat veterans, deserve more...something that is beyond a mere sentimental gesture, no matter how powerful and meaningful those may be.

It is time that American combat veterans be relieved of their responsibility to pay income taxes to the federal government.

I know all the arguments. There are those who suggest that "paying taxes are our civic responsibility and duty." I do not disagree. But surely no one would pretend that those who have served our country in combat have not already met any definition of civic responsibility and duty. They have not just met such a requirement, they have surpassed it. They have defined it.

Still others would argue that though military service is undoubtedly an honorable career, so is the ministry, so is teaching, so is saving lives in a hospital. Again, I have no disagreement with such a conclusion. I would merely propose that while we can find reasons to honor anyone for their efforts to serve their fellow man (something we should do more of, in fact), there is something particularly distinguished about the American soldier. While the minister, teacher, and doctor work to improve their communities, the soldier is willing to die in order to protect the very opportunity to do that work.

But what would such a change cost us? According to U.S. Census Bureau numbers, there are currently 24.5 million military veterans in the United States. Obviously, eliminating the tax burden of every one of those veterans would provide an excessive and immediate strain on the operations of our national government. And whereas the eventual elimination of such a debt would be my choosing, I understand that it might not be practical to do abruptly. But the number of combat veterans, those who have seen action in the field of battle, is a much smaller percentage. And for those heroes, it is my opinion that their days of paying taxes should be finished...now.

When discussing this belief with others, I have been challenged by those who attempt to pit my belief in a small tax burden for private citizens against this suggestion. "If you permanently end all tax payments from combat veterans, other people – like yourself – will see their taxes increase to offset that cost," they argue. And while I would maintain that there is much to eliminate in the federal budget that could prevent such a reality, I am also a realist in knowing that such is not likely given our current political environment.

  21. Chris The idea of a tax break for Combat Veterans is indeed a great concept but with the Politicans we have now Im afraid that aint going to happen. Way to many Entitlement programs now and in the FUTURE to Honor Our Combat Veterans and thats ASHAME in this GREAT COUNTRY!We are where we are today for ALL the SACRIFICES these BRAVE MILITARY MEN have made during OUR times of NEED!

  22. The silence is deafening. Anyone else find it curious that after the murder of Dr. Tiller (the baby killer) that Bill O'Reilly and Fox were blamed, but nary a peep over the Islamic terrorist attack on our soldiers at Ft. Hood?

Where is the outrage? I think I know.
