Voters continue to view the Republican agenda in Congress as more mainstream than the agenda of the Democrats. But only one-in-four voters think the average member of either party shares the same ideology they do.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Voters shows that 45% say it would be more accurate to describe the agenda of Republicans in Congress as mainstream, up five points from last month. Thirty-eight percent (38%) say it's more accurate to describe that agenda as extreme, while 17% more are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
But half of voters (50%) say the Democratic agenda in Congress is extreme, while 37% see it as mainstream, also up five points from a month ago. Another 14% are not sure.
In August of last year as the mid-term congressional races heated up, most voters (53%) viewed the GOP agenda in Congress as mainstream, while 57% described the Democratic agenda as extreme.

If the Republicans are the mainstream Party it goes to show the Tea Party is also a mainstream ideology. But we already knew that the liberal ideology is just a fringe group of extremists with less then 20% of the populous.
But not all thanks goes to the Tea Party for bring the Republican Party into then mainstream. We must thank the radical left-wing and unions for their part. Thanks to them and their vandalism, violent rhetoric and threats just about everyone looks mainstream. It's nice to see the conservative underground doing their job and sending out the pictures and videos of the left-wing violence and rhetoric to their email friends. Both sides must keep doing what they are doing and it will be an easy victory come Nov.
