Letter To My Fellow Michiganders ...From Michael "the Commie" Moore

Fellow Michiganders (and honorary Michiganders around the world):

The call has gone out and I'm asking everyone who can to take Wednesday off and head to the State Capitol in Lansing to protest the cruel and downright frightening legislation currently being jammed down our throats.

What is most shocking to many is that the new governor, who ran against the Tea Party and defeated the right wing of his party in the primaries -- and then ran in the general election as "just a nerd from Ann Arbor" who was a moderate, not an ideologue -- has pulled off one of the biggest Jekyll and Hyde ruses I've ever seen in electoral politics.

Governor Snyder, once elected, yanked off his nice-guy mask to reveal that he is in fact a multi-millionaire hell-bent on destroying our state and turning it over to his buddies from Wall Street.

In just 8 short weeks he has:

* Gotten the House and Senate to pass bills giving him "Emergency Management" powers such as the ability to appoint a corporation or a CEO who could literally dissolve town governments or school boards, fire the elected officials, nullify any local law and run your local governmental entity. That company then would have the power to immediately declare all collective bargaining contracts null and void.

* Proposed giving business a whopping 86% tax cut while raising personal taxes by 31%! And much of that tax hike he believes should be shouldered by -- I kid you not -- senior citizens and the poor! He says these two groups have not been "sharing the sacrifice" the rest of us have been burdened with. So his budget proposes a $1.8 billion tax CUT for business and a $1.75 billion tax INCREASE for the rest of us, much of it from the poor, seniors and working people -- even though the top 1% in Michigan ALREADY pay a lower state tax rate than everyone else does!

* Together with the legislature, introduced over 40 anti-labor bills in just the first two months of this session! They have wasted no time and have caught most people off guard. Much of this is being rushed through right now before you have a chance to raise your voice in objection.

These actions are breathtaking when you realize they will drive our already battered state straight into the ground. What we needed right now was an inspiring leader to help us reinvent Michigan and to find creative ways to create new jobs and lift us out of our economic depression. The rest of the country may call what they're experiencing the "Great Recession," but few argue that Michigan is suffering a "one-state Depression."

I know many of you are filled with a great sense of despair and a justifiable loss of hope these days in Michigan. But you must not let things get even worse. You must stand up against these Draconian measures and this outrageous attempt to rip our democratic rights from us by turning our state over to well-paid hacks from Wall Street and corporate America. They see our state as one big fire sale -- and they are licking their chops to get their hands on what is still a state rich in natural resources and industrial infrastructure.

Please show up at noon on Wednesday for our first mega-rally against this insanity. Hundreds of groups are already organizing car pools and buses. You can right now just declare yourself an organizer and get your friends and neighbors committed to being in Lansing. If ever there were a day to call in sick, Wednesday is it (because this IS sick). Students, if ever there were a day to cut class and become a participant in your democracy, Wednesday is it. This event needs to be HUGE -- and I believe it will be if you will simply be there and take a stand.

Much attention has been paid to Wisconsin in recent weeks. Well, they got nothing on what's going on here in Michigan. Rick Snyder is Scott Walker on steroids. There's never been what even the AARP calls "an all-out attack" like this on us. Trust me, you will rue the day you sat home and did nothing while thieves posing as politicians stole your Great Lakes State from you.

Don't let it happen. Be at the Capitol by noon on Wednesday for the largest demonstration the state has ever seen.

Go Spartans! Go Wolverines! Go Everyone Else In Between!

Yours,
Michael Moore

As many of you already know conservative Tea Party patriots have moles all over the liberal communist community. Thanks to these moles we are always informed as to what they are doing. Here is a planned protest. Please take the time to let everyone know what they are planning on doing here in Michigan. These Douchbaggers want to take money from the tax payers so they can fill their pockets.

I'm sure there will be many tinfoil hat idiots everywhere. These Douchbaggers are trying to intimidate us by bringing Cairo to Michigan. We will bring some Tokyo to their anti-government protest. These Douchbaggers want our money. Their greed has caused them to attack private and public property as well as American citizens. If you go as an counter protester be careful. We have seen these protesters get violent in the other States they are in.

  2. LMAO!!! Great post, Chris.
Who would ever buy in to this clowns train of thought. You know, like 'We don't have a money problem in this country' mindset.

Wish I could go along, but maybe I will call 20-30 times to fill up seat reservation so when the buses leave there will be no one on board. :)

  3. DemocRATS sure are afraid of REAL change. I never would have thought fiscal stability and sanity would push so many of them over the edge.

Can you believe what a bunch of foaming-at-the-mouth terrorists have come out of the woodwork because Republican governments are trying to live within their means? Sure seems that common sense may not be so common after all. DemocRATS are trying to rule this country by mob rule. God help us all if they succeed.

  4. DAY OF RAGE in Michigan tomorrow, high noon just like Cairo. Call in sick and join us. Let them see what can happen in a one day call in. Mark A. and Chris can go fuck themselves if they make bus seat reservations. We will deal with the teabaggers when we get there, that is if they show up. All union members within driving distance must go to this rally. United we stand.

  5. In a scene reminiscent of Wisconsin, hundreds of pro-union protesters jammed the Michigan state Capitol on Tuesday to oppose a bill that would give emergency managers authority to break labor deals to revive failing schools and cities.

About 1,000 pro-union demonstrators gathered on the Capitol steps in Lansing, Michigan, then 400 entered the building to occupy the rotunda and floors overlooking as the Republican state Senate moved the bill toward a final vote expected Wednesday.

New Republican Gov. Rick Snyder’s proposal would expand the powers of emergency financial managers who are named to oversee faltering school districts and cities. The House approved the measure in February. Republicans hold a 26-12 Senate majority.

In Wisconsin, protesters occupied the Capitol Building in Madison for weeks to protest new Republican Gov. Scott Walker’s proposals to limit public sector union powers for collective bargaining and require yearly recertification votes.

With Michigan cities and school districts struggling from the severe recession and potential state funding cuts, the bill expands the power for the state to name financial overseers.

The state’s biggest school district, the Detroit Public Schools, was put under the emergency financial management of by Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm in 2009. It is the only district in the state under emergency management.

Oh boy, now I'm in. Nothing like a good old day kicking some liberals A$$!

  7. Although they do have the power to null and void contracts it is a last resort issue. Manager will ask for concessions for sure but how does one PAY what no longer exsist. If a city is SO broke a emergency manager must be appointed How much cash will they have on hand? If a city is broke its broke. Paying Public Union workers when your revenue is down to ZERO would be quite a trick. These Economic Times were brought on by Politicans who Ok'd contracts that down the road could not be FUNDED in Bad economic times. Well this State and Nation have entered that area and either Concessions or lay offs must follow. Neither is a good choice but what other choice is there?

  8. Don B. Is that rally a TAX PAYER thingy? If so Save me a seat on the Bus!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Thanks to Don I just called all four bus reservations. I name dropped a little. I said I was a friend of Bruce Fealk and needed four seats reserved. That should piss those pigs off at the UAW. I am going to go on one of the buses with some skunk scent. I'll take one for the team. I'll get some video of it and post it on youtube.

  12. Rep. Levin to Host Telephone Town Hall this Evening

Rep. Levin will host a live telephone town hall this evening focused on the Republican budget. In announcing the phone call, Rep. Levin said: “I am committed to balancing economic recovery, key investments in our future, and deficit reduction. Unfortunately, Republicans in Congress are pressing for a 2011 federal budget that I believe harms education, health research, and basic public safety. Many economists have expressed concern that the Republican budget threatens our current economic recovery.” On the call you can ask questions or listen in. If you would like to join please dial 877-229-8493 at 6:45pm and use 13397 as the passcode.

    Raise some hell.

  13. Jeremy It should be no surprize at all that this regime uses its power to get around Laws.

Regime swore a oath to protect us yet

Borders are unsecure. Not only illegals but drugs are flowing across border in most cases unimpeded.

Arizona after Regime fails to do its job attempts to secure its borders however Regime actually side with illeagals and drug dealers over citizens and sues State of Arizona.

One of Regimes attorneys ask Supreme court NOT to speed up process for Socialized Insurance and for it to take the appelate route which will of coarse put the final out come months away and gives regime time to implement some of the 2400 page bill.

Apparently AG Holder can pick and choose civil rights case to go forward on.

Gun laws, Cap & Trade and "Fairness Doctrine can all be regulated by agencies apparently without Congressional input.

Laws apparently are made to be either Ignored or by passed by regime and that do concern me.

  14. U R exactly right Al. Here is another article showing what "Democracy" looks like to the libtards:

    http://legalinsurrection.blogspot.com/2011/03/protesters-destroy-recall-petitions.html

Protesters Destroy Recall Petitions Against Wisconsin Democrat

Thanks to a reader in Wisconsin for sending me this link to a press release from the Recall Jim Holperin Committee and video posted at the website of conservative talk show host Charlie Sykes, regarding intimidation efforts directed against Republicans seeking signatures on recall petitions against one of Wisconsin Democratic State Senators who fled to Illinois:
[Committee] Leader Kim Simac and volunteers for the Recall Jim Holperin Committee will hold a press conference tomorrow at 12:00 pm at the Lincoln County Courthouse.

This is the location of the conflict between Recall Petition Signers and Union Protesters last Thursday, March 10, 2011.

The petition rally was originally scheduled at a local Merrill restaurant but was relocated after the proprietors received many phone calls and felt they needed to back out. The committee then set up in front of the Lincoln County Courthouse to offer citizens an opportunity to sign their names to the petition. Over 1,000 calls had been sent out the previous day notifying area residents of the petition rally.

Upon arrival, members of the recall committee were encircled by union protesters carrying signs and a leader with a mega phone who began chanting and ranting loudly. They packed in tightly around the petition collection table so as to prevent those attempting to sign from doing so. At one point, a pro union protester, pretending to be interested in signing the petition, wrote profanity across a partially collected petition form, than began ripping up the completed petitions that were in close proximity.

The policemen who were there, and who were standing in close proximity to these events as they unfolded, did nothing to assist those collecting the petitions as they were being destroyed, despite such an action being a Felony under Wisconsin law. Police also did nothing to clear the walk way for citizens that wanted to sign the petitions. Recall Committee members received many phone calls the following day from Merill area citizens who stated that they showed up to sign the petition, but were too afraid to get out of their vehicles and approach the recall table.

The local police deny failing to act, and instead say they were not given enough information to make an arrest.

This report is confirmed by a story from a local television station:
Emotions ran high as ralliers took to the Lincoln County Courthouse, calling for the recall of Democratic State Senator Jim Holperin, one of the 14 senators who fled the state more than three weeks ago.

Organizers say the rally was originally scheduled at Club 64 in Merrill, but they had to change locations after business owners say they received more than 50 phone calls threatening to destroy their business and cause physical harm if the rally took place.

Protestors both for and against the recall showed up. Even though they initially kept their distance, Holperin supporters engulfed the recall effort, and that's when the situation turned tense.

"They circled around us, and they're bullying us. They have a loud horn and they're trying to intimidate people that would like to come and sign the petition," said Kim Simac, recall leader, "I do think that this is an intimidation ploy."

Simac says protestors even got involved with their petitions.

"We had a lady come up and write profanity and rip some of them right on our table.... so I guess that's what democracy looks like to them."

  15. Thats incredible Jeremy. Amazing that the cops just stand by and do nothing.
It's time to call out the forces to counter this type of thuggery.

  23. I can't wait to see your pictures Joe. At least there was no violence at this protest. The nice thing is it was a beautiful day. I was expecting a lot more people bewing we are in a union state. Bruce there were Tea Partiers there and they took pictures. But there wasn't any counter protest because we knew no one would be watching us or you.

Thanks again for not destroying our State Capitol building. I just wish you guys would pick up after yourselves. Don't you realize that someone has to picki up the stuff you drop or don't you care?

  24. "met a lot of good hard working people"
Working? How can anyone be a hard worker when they calling in sick to march in Lansing? :)

  26. Well it appears all went well and was peaceful. Oh never mind that was golf. Joe o
I need couple photos swing is really LOUSY!

From what if seen and read SNYDER was elected on issue of Balancing Budget and Creating atmosphere that would BRING Jobs to OUR State. Now we have this Group WANTING this and That group NOT wanting that! Just appears there are WAY to many Citizens looking after the I and NOT the WE in Answers to OUR plight at all levels of Government.

Politicans from ALL partys have been Dithering on CUTS in Washington. One group says about 6 Billion the other wants about 100 Billion. Either way its a very SMALL Fraction of what as to be done. The kicking the can down the road is continuing and Republican old timers seem RELUCTANT at best to LEAD. They have a chance to really make their MARK but from what I have seen their missing their TARGET at every turn. They had better POOP or get of the POOPER. Obama Blew a Mandate to lead and those Ole Republican seem to be Kicking that Can down the same Road. Citizens are watching and Politicans will either do their JOBS or be FIRED!. I myself am VERY disappointed in the OLD guard period!

I have seen NO real panic, NO Looting and Pillage as in other CRISIS through out world. Theres about 180 of their Techs that have put Personnel saftey aside when Ordered to Enter the Reactors and Fight the Melt Down. I just do not Beleive any they other Culture would act in that manner. Even the LONG lines of Citizens Waiting for much needed ITEMS stand in lne orderly and without violence. ALL Nations can learn from Japans Citizens and their ACTIONS! Just My Opinion!

  28. If a protest happens and nobody cares, will the prog-rats still bitch and moan about paying their fare share or less?

    Magic 8 Ball says "ABSOLUTELY".

Even posters in the decidedly non-conservative freep are laughing at the spoiled bitches calling in sick to protest a burden that is far less than that felt by the private sector and non-unions.

Must have been a nice communist gathering. Marx would have been proud.

  29. Al, all I can say is God Bless those Japanese people. Stark contrast to Hurricane Katrina.

I guess I can say one other thing, thank God those 140 brave souls weren't union workers, we know where they would be, or more accurately where they WOULDN'T be.

  30. Yes I have AL. When I lived there you could leave your walet on the bus and it would be there the next day. The Japanese are very honorable and respectful. We could learn a lot from them.

I'm ashamed of how the unions have been acting over their greed.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Anon. how true. The protest didn't even make the front page of the Macomb Daily. And on page 4A they talked about the arrests. I'm sure that will help with public opinion of the unions. lol

  32. Top ten ways to tell if you might be a member of a public-sector union

10.) You take a week off to protest in Wisconsin and your office runs better.
9.) On a snow day when they say “non-essential” people should stay home you know who they mean.
8.) You get paid twice as much as a private sector person doing the same job but make up the difference by doing half as much work.
7.) It takes longer to fire you than the average killer spends on death row.
6.) The worse you do your job, the more your boss avoids you.
5.) You think the French are working themselves to death.
4.) You know by having a copy of the Holy Koran on your desk your job is 100% safe.
3.) You spend more time at protest marches than at church.
2.) You have a Democratic congressman’s lips permanently attached to your butt.
1.) You pay more in union dues than you do for your healthcare insurance.

  34. Anon that is a great one. I can't wait to send it to my union friends.

  35. Mark,
If you assume that because it was a midweek afternoon rally and that the people who showed up must not be hardworking i am comfortable with that but only if we apply that to all midweek rallies, like those by Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, the Tea Party.

As long as we apply it equally. Are you willing to imply that conservatives who attend(ed) midweek rallies during the day are not hard working? We wouldn't want a double standard would we. :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Whats a decidedly non-conservative freep?

Are we referring to the union busting newspaper or the conservative website?

    ReplyDelete
  37. lol..the front page of Yesterdays Oakland Press Chris? I mean the Macomb Daily. Its a lousy paper that is usually weeks behind on world news and days behind on local stuff.

It got the nickname at work from a conservative, because its first section was usually what we read the day before in the OP.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Joe, most people with a minimum brain-function would agree that the Detroit Free Press is liberal and the Detroit News is conservative. If you are unaware of this I don't know how your brain is still allowing your organs to function. Time to get with the program.
