Are You Ready For A Tea Party Rally???All Are Welcome To Come

This Monday, October 26, Governor Granholm has scheduled a meeting in downtown Rochester with Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop and with Oakland County public schools bureaucrats. Granholm and the bureaucrats will be trying to pressure, intimidate and cajole Senator Bishop into agreeing to hike taxes again. Please join us in WELCOMING our Governor with a feisty protest on Monday so that Granholm, Bishop and the tax-ocrats get the message that another tax hike is absolutely NOT WELCOME in Michigan. The meeting is scheduled for 1:30 this Monday (October 26th) at the Rochester Community Schools Administration Building located at 501 W. University (1/2 mile west of Rochester Rd/downtown). University Road is also called Walton Road. The meeting will NOT be open to the general public (after all, it's only your money, other than that, apparently, it is not your business), however there is a really good sidewalk near the building and along University Road - for protest/signs. Meet on the public sidewalk directly in front of the Administration Building on University Road. Governor Granholm is very upset that the state House and Senate refused to increase taxes in the recent budget that passed both those legislative chambers. And she is doing what she can to 'punish' lawmakers by vetoing items in that budget that she believes will cause lawmakers political pain - like making deeper cuts to K-12 public schools. If you are anywhere near Rochester, MI and have an hour or so this Monday afternoon, please show up and help deliver our message to Governor Granholm - 'NOT ANOTHER TAX HIKE!' Bring a sign (if you have time to make one) or just show up to make sure that your voice is heard. Please respond to this email if you plan on attending. Or, just show up. I hope to see you Monday!

Who Are The Real Racists?

What are your views on the growing conservative black movement? Are the Tea Parties full of racists? Or could it be the people pointing the finger are the true racist?

Abortion Isn't About Choice. It's Murder

This is an abortion. If you can't look at it you should stand up for the life of these inocent babies. Life, liberty. This isn't about choice. It's murder people. If you can watch this video and still believe in "choice" then there is something wrong with you.

Should Marijuana Be Legalized

The war on drugs isn't working. What should we do? Should we legalize it and tax it? How can we control the drug problem? Should we look at the Libertarian ideology and let every state decide? I hear a lot about this subject and society seems to be changing fast about these things. We can't keep hiding from the problem without fixing it. We throw way too much of our money at this war without winning or giving up the war and try something new. Most Americans are at a lose with the war on drugs and so is our government. http://www.reason.tv/ has some good perspectives on this taboo subject.

Give It Up To The Left Wingers

Left wing stop on by and add your thoughts to the blog. I like hearing from both side. A nice civil debate over any subject you would like to bring up just post it.

OK Now Barack Hussein Obama Is At War With Fox News? Just Dumb

So this administration had what passes for a brainstorm among that group: now that they’ve made it clear that they disapprove of one particular news network, why, there would be nothing stopping them from stepping up their attempts to marginalize said network. So the White House announced today that a specific White House Press Pool access - Ken Feinberg, who is one of the myriad ‘czars’ so beloved of this administration - would explicitly exclude Fox News.  Despite the fact that the Press Pool is supported in part by Fox News.
And the media refused to play along.
This, oddly enough, has not been brought up by any of the other networks, so for right now the best source for this story is FNC (yes, savor the irony):

See Hot Air and AoSHQ for more.  In this particular case, the news bureaus decided that the White House could make Feinberg available for all five news networks, or for none of them.  Whether or not this was due to principle or pragmatism (Hot Air leans towards the latter), it was the right answer: the administration caved in short order.  Hopefully there won’t be a need for multiple lessons.  I’m forced to admit that I’m pleasantly surprised at how well the news media handled this one.  Even if they did do it solely because they don’t want the precedent set.
Moving along: AoSHQ is amazed at this administration’s priorities.  For myself, I’m reminded again of a thought that I’ve had a few times.  When you look at this administration’s performance to date, it’s like the Democratic Party went out and found themselves a caricature of everything that they complained about/hated/feared with regard to George W Bush… only this time? It’s all true.
