It Sucks To Be A Liberal

Conservatives continue to outnumber moderates and liberals in the American populace in 2009, confirming a finding that Gallup first noted in June. Forty percent of Americans describe their political views as conservative, 36% as moderate, and 20% as liberal. This marks a shift from 2005 through 2008, when moderates were tied with conservatives as the most prevalent group.
I hope the RNC, GOP, NRSC, NRCC, etc. are paying attention to this.
As I have noted repeatedly, data from the 2008 exit polling showed that more people considered themselves “conservative” than “liberal.” This new Gallup poll is in accord with that.
This goes straight to NY-23, where both the DCCC and NRCC are attacking Doug Hoffman, the conservative candidate. Apparently, unlike the NRCC, the DCCC sees a path to victory for Doug Hoffman.
When the GOP paints a clearly distinct picture of ideas and issues from the Democrats, they win. Voters do not want to vote for Democrat-lite when they get have the real thing. Instead, the GOP should present and alternative, better vision of moving this country forward.

  2. Recent polling in the NY 23 has the Democrat with a good chance of winning, partly due to the fact the Conservative party candidate and the Republican are splitting the vote.

This seat hasn't been Democrat in over 100 years. It is the most conservative area of New York and it may be in Democratic hands very soon.

I do hope the Republican party breaks up into two parties, Conservative and the Republican party. There will be even fewer Republicans or Conservatives in government.

  3. Bruce is right. The RNC has to stop alienating voters by being too liberal. We need candidates who are unafraid to fight the new and repeal the old legislation coming from the left and return our country to its founding principles: The Unalienable Rights of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

  4. It is better to vote for a conservative and split the vote than to vote for liberal republicans like dede scuzzball and continue with the destruction of the republican party.
How many times to we have to take the party advice and vote for weak kneed liberals that they keep offering up on us.
That formul;a doesnt work and is one of the reasons for the current state of the republican party.
nothing is more uninspiring than a choice of two of the same like in up state New York.
Its time to grab back the reins of power from those who have brought this party to the abyss.
When that happens people will again rally to support the consevatives just like they did in 1980 and 1994

  6. Bruce you are a sharp political mind. Very well said I must say. Big Chris I agree whole hartedly with you.

  7. Dough we do need to stay true to our conservative idealogy before the Republican or Democrat party. Conservatives need to drag both parties back to being more conservative. Thanks for the video link I'll see if I can add it to the blog.

  8. Sorry to burst Bruce's bubble but he is basing his comments on outdated polling numbers.
At around 11:30 on WJR on the Frank Beckman show they were talking about the race in upstate New York and the latest numbers has Hoffman now outpolling Dede Scuzzball and ahead of the democrat challenger.
What makes this new information credible is the democrat party has pulled the ads attacking scuzz and are putting out new attack ads against Hoffman.
We need this guy to win to send the message to the republican party that rinos are not going to get our support any longer

  9. AWESOME! Thanks for the update Doug!

I love the fact that conservatives are taking the Republican party back. It's about time.

Oh, and we never believe anything Bruce says. He has proven time and again that he lies about everything. That's why they call them lie-berals!

  11. So the Republican and the independent are splitting the ad dollars of the democrats. What's that about divide and conquer?

  12. Great catch Doug. It's always a lie with these liberals. It's great to have you on the team Doug.

  13. What is up with that Big Chris?
    Tell us more.

  14. Wow, even if the Republican wins, it's not a surprise in a seat in the most conservative district in New York, that has been Republican for something like 150 years. The fact that a Democrat even has a chance to win is a miracle in that district.

Hey, I hope you guys keep field Conservative Party candidates. More Democratic seats for us. Great strategy. Tea partiers unite and kick out the Republicans. Way to go.

  15. Apparently the Democrat could eke out a win over the conservative. The only poll that matters is on election day.

Then there's this poll also which has the Democrat ahead.
    http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2310803/can_doug_hoffman_win_in_new_yorks_23rd.html
According to a new Siena College Poll, the race is as follows, Bill Owens, Democrat, at 33 percent, Dede Scozzafava, Republican at 29 percent, and Doug Hoffman at 23 percent. The trends, though, have given a lot of people some pause. Owens has risen by 5 points since the previous poll,
Can Doug Hoffman Win in New York's 23rd Congressional District?
Scozzafava has fallen by five points and Hoffman has surged ahead by seven points.

  16. Bruce are you saying you don't see a major shift in the conservative movement? Not Republican but a conservative movement. By the way Bruce the Tea Party is made up of all parties. They are for conservative spending and smaller gov't. and they will vote for whatever the persons party. We vote for the most conservative person not the party. You liberals vote for a party only.

  17. Chris, if the Conservative movement splits the vote for Republican candidates, thereby giving more seats to Democrats, I'm all for the Conservative movement. Have at it.

The majority of Americans are not as conservative as the tea partiers, so I hope you all destroy both parties, which is looking more and more like the case every day. You can't see the forest for the trees.

Rachel Maddow is talking about this race right now on the TV machine.

  18. Bruce you are all partisan and no true belief system to back it. In other word you will change your possition to fit the Democrats idealogue. You don't stand for anything Bruce you just stand against the Conservatives. Yes Bruce we conservatives will abandon the Republican party if they abandon conservative idealogy. Don't worry Bruce the Democrats are as fractured as the Republican party you just are in the denial stage of it.
