The Science Is In.Oops It's Out Again.

Video: Climate-Gate Prof Calls Skeptic A-Hole Why Is This Prof So Pissed? Is It Because His Science Is A Fake? At least the rest of the world is talking about the biggest scientific event since Lucy was found out to be a fake. I expect this to hurt the Democrats and liberals a lot. The rest of the world are blaming the US for all of this BS. If this turns out to be a big scam on the world then we are in big trouble. Most conservatives aren't suprised by this news of the Democratic Scam Climategate. They said we were going to have an ice age, drought, floods you name it they have clamed it. This "man made global warming" scam stuck and some people bought into it like a bunch of dumb lemmings. To the lemming on the left it is like there is no God. The left worship Mother Nature at the same time telling us liberalism isn't a religion. I have no problem with your choice of a god. I just find it funny that you deny that it hasn't taken the role of a religion.

  1. I agree with your last couple of statements. To liberals, their "belief system" ie their liberalness IS God, which has been PROVEN by their health care reform, abortion practices, stance (or lack of) on marriage...I could go on and on. We are to worship the CREATOR not the CREATION only proves that the libs worship the Earth more than the One who made it.

  2. Story Discussion By BRADLEY J. FIKES - bfikes@nctimes.com | Posted: Saturday, December 5, 2009 9:35 pm

Font Size: Default font size Larger font size The eligibility age for state-subsidized breast cancer screening has been raised from 40 to 50 by the California Health and Human Services Agency, which will also temporarily stop enrollment in the breast cancer screening program.

Advocates for low-income women, whose health care the department helps pay for, say the cuts put a two-tier system in place that is based on money rather than medical standards.

The cuts will greatly harm the clinic's mammogram program, said Natasha Riley, manager of Vista Community Clinic's Breast Health Outreach and Education Program.

The clinic and others like it in San Diego County provide reduced-cost care, mostly to low-income people, with money from the state and some private donations.

"More than 50 percent of the women we give breast exams and mammograms to are in their 40s," Riley said. "The majority of our current breast cancer survivors are women in their 40s."

The state's decision, announced Dec. 1 and effective Jan. 1, follows a controversial federal recommendation last month that mammograms before the age of 50 are generally not needed.

However, the public health department also linked the change to California's budget woes.

The federal recommendation, made Nov. 16 by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, has encountered strong opposition.

The task force later retreated a bit, adjusting its recommendation to state that mammograms for women ages 40 to 49 should be considered by their doctors on an individual basis.

Moreover, private health care systems such as Scripps Health have rejected the federal task force's recommendation, choosing instead to keep the existing standard, which calls for a mammogram at age 40, with annual mammograms thereafter.

That means doctors will be using two medical practice guidelines, distinguished not by knowledge but by the pocketbook, said Dr. Jack Klausen, a gynecologist and obstetrician who practices at Vista Community Clinic.

"If we are in a situation where we don't screen, but the private-practice doctor can screen, then we are actually not practicing to the standard of care," Klausen said.

In its announcement, the state said the cuts were needed because of a projected budget shortfall for the California Department of Public Health, and from declining revenue from tobacco taxes.

However, it did not say how much money it expected to save.

Calls to the department were not returned Friday.

The policy puts lives at risk, said Barbara Mannino, CEO of Vista Community Clinic.

"I bet you everybody knows a woman who was diagnosed in her 40s, and her life was saved by a mammogram, or lost because it was too late," Mannino said, just before leaving for own mammogram.

And she said that little money would be saved, because all the equipment and staff to provide mammograms is already in place.

There is a difference of opinion in the medical community about when mammograms, an X-ray of the breast, should be used.

Mammograms sometimes give false alarms, with the incidence of false positives especially high for women in their 40s.

Estimates are that 10 percent to 15 percent of mammograms give false positives, experts say.

False negatives, in which the cancer is present but the mammogram seems normal, occurs 20 percent of the time, according to the National Cancer Institute.

However, false negatives become less frequent with age.

But the benefits in finding cancers when they are more easily treatable outweigh the drawbacks, Mannino and Klausen said.

And Scripps' breast cancer task force said that because 28 percent of women newly diagnosed with breast cancer are younger than 50, the number of lives saved outweighs the additional cost.

Klausen said the federal panel was trying "create a best-practices (standard) from a monetary point of view," to provide the most health care for all, out of a limited budget.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Women who get false positives on mammograms not only undergo stress, but they must go through other tests, only to find out there's nothing wrong.

That adds costs to the system without providing any better health care, according to the federal panel's reasoning.

However, Klausen said the state has taken that reasoning too far, putting too much emphasis on saving money.

"What makes me really worried is that the California Department of Public Health wants to save money by taking away a cancer-detection program," Klausen said. "That discriminates against a gender, and also discriminates against an income level. And it also discriminates against how community clinics can practice medicine."

  4. President Obama and the First Family were planning a “non-religious Christmas,” according to Social Secretary Desiree Rogers. Ms. Rogers reportedly told a gathering of former social secretaries that the Obamas did not intend on putting the Nativity scene on display – a longtime East Room tradition.

The account was reported in the Fashion and Style section of The New York Times. The White House confirmed to the Times that there had been internal discussions about making Christmas more inclusive – but in the end – tradition won out – and the Nativity scene is once again in its traditional East Room spot.

But that’s not the case in other parts of the nation or world. Consider the following:

The United Nations has banned Christmas trees from its global climate summit. Officials said the UN must remain religion-neutral.

In Ashland, OR, students at Bellview Elementary School erected a “giving tree.” The tree featured tags soliciting Christmas gifts for needy children. Principal Michelle Zundel removed the tree over the weekend after some families complained.

However, the Supreme Court ruled a Christmas tree is not a religious symbol. That didn’t matter to Ms Zundel. “If you are entering a public school and your family does not celebrate Christmas, then it feels like a religious symbol.”

And in Waterbury, CT, students have been told to say, “Happy Winter,” instead of “Merry Christmas.” Erik Brown is the principal of Walsh Elementary School. He has banned all religious festivities and decorations. He told the Republican-American newspaper that he’s just following state law. “This is not a church,” he said. “It’s a school and it’s a public school. I have to do things that include every child. So what we do is celebrate winter.”

  5. #1 Calling a CRITIC of the Climate-Gate a ASS HOLE is quite Hemmroidic to say the LEAST!This Scam if Proven, should result in Criminal Charges against the Culprits.

On the Health Care Issue Obama Care is after one thing POWER and taking over 1/6th of Economy is the Start! Treatment will be Based on age and Cost Effectiveness. When running Business does make sense at times to cut COST BUT when that same STANDARD is taken to Health Care, a Business making BAD choice goes out of Business,a CITIZEN, when put to the same Cost Effectiveness will ALSO go out of Business, its called DEATH!

  6. The BBC has just posted an article about how the IPCC muddled a report on melting Himalayan glaciers by changing the predicted date from 2350 to 2035. However, the BBC buried the story in the World/South-Asia section when a few days ago they posted an alarmist article on glaciers in the Science & Nature section.

Why does the BBC hide any news that doesn't promote the belief in AGW?

  10. If there is any truth at all to the hoax that carbon dioxide dooms the planet, would 35,000 people promoting the hoax be traveling to Copenhagen via 140 private jets and 1,200 limousines to accomplish what they admit will amount to nothing?

On a normal day, Majken Friss Jorgensen, managing director of Copenhagen's biggest limousine company, says her firm has twelve vehicles on the road. During the "summit to save the world", which opens here tomorrow, she will have 200.

Ms Jorgensen reckons that between her and her rivals the total number of limos in Copenhagen next week has already broken the 1,200 barrier. The French alone rang up on Thursday and ordered another 42. "We haven't got enough limos in the country to fulfil the demand," she says. "We're having to drive them in hundreds of miles from Germany and Sweden."

The airport says it is expecting up to 140 extra private jets during the peak period alone, so far over its capacity that the planes will have to fly off to regional airports – or to Sweden – to park, returning to Copenhagen to pick up their VIP passengers.
And yet the left is filled with dupes who refuse to question the sincerity of these people. Or, maybe they're just in on the scam. This passage suggests the latter:
    _____

[The protesters] started their two-week “Climate Bottom Meeting,” complete with a “storytelling yurt” and a “funeral of the day” for various corrupt, “heatist" concepts such as “economic growth”.
    _____

To the progressive left, improving people's living standards is regarded as a corrupt and "heatist" concept.

  11. Chris, The BBC is Britains state-run media much the same as CNN is here or the CBC is in Canada. All 3 are mouthpieces for the socialist agenda spewing out propaganda. If and when they publish/broadcast something that goes against their agenda it is,like you say, buried. But this also gives them an 'out' when called bias, lame proof to be sure but nevertheless an 'out'.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Christohper, the BBC is by far a much more thoughtful new organization than anything the US has. It certainly has little of the outright partisanship of Faux News.

Of course to a con its a vast liberal conspiracy, but we know how they see them behind everydoor, in every closet and under the bed at night.

    ReplyDelete
  13. JoeC,You may view socialism as 'thoughtful' but I could not disagree more. You use the term 'conspiracy' whereas I did not, reason being I do not view lame-stream state-run media as a conspiracy but rather blatent,in-your-face propaganda.

  17. The bbc is a thousand times better than anything the us has. Listen to the world service at night and you'll be far away better for it. Of course rightwing hacks wouldn't see it that way and prefer the openly partisan Faux news.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Of course a left-wing liberal hack would defend the BBC. This guy JoeC should watch Fox and get the facts for once. Chris, where is that study that showed how fair and balanced Fox news was compared to the other news organizations?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Ooooh hey everybody, the left-wing hack-master is telling us that the BBC is where we should get all our information. Guess I will stop listening to every other news source, the BBC is above reproach. They would never slant their news or give it a liberal slant like every other news organization short of Fox. Thanks for the advice liberal guy, I should really listen to everything you liberals say so we can turn this world into the shining example that Detroit is. Great idea.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Matthew, liberal slant. everything looks slanted to the left when all you do is watch the right slanted Faux. lol.

lol..the right slanted CMPA which recieves its funding from conservative foundations. lol..fair and balanced there.

Besides a narrow study discussing canidates doesn't relate to the overall newscast and programming.

    ReplyDelete
  21. okay so i looked up the study and then i looked up the Center for Media and Public Affairs (CMPA) and lol and behold here's what i found...

    S. Robert Lichter - President. Until 2008 Robert Lichter was a paid contributor to the Fox News Channel
The data reveals that the overwhelming proportion of CMPA's funding comes from conservative foundations.

Thus, out of the total of $2,960,916 in foundation grants, nearly all of it ($2,668,916) came from just four sources: the John M. Olin, Scaife, and Smith Richardson foundations. In other words, CMPA received 86% of its foundation funding from those four donors.

    All conservative donors...

come on meat, bring that weak ass shit.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Well JoeC, typical lieberal mis-direction. Kill the messenger. Where is the link to the study? What does it matter who provides the information, it doesn't make it any less true. Do you have any disputes with the FACTS JoeC? All I hear is you complaining about who funded the study ... and you claiming that the funders are conservative in YOUR estimation. Well, since JoeC is all for the BBC and says that they are fair and balanced (oh, JoeC, who funds the BBC, did you look into THAT?) well we should just bow down to what the great JoeC says and buy wholesale whatever he says.

JoeC, your words mean less than nothing to me. Talk about bringing weak-assed shit, you are pathetic.

JoeC, I bet you eat up whatever the White House website puts out. I bet that is the most fair and balanced shit you have ever read.

Attack of the petty Palin Haters

Get a load of this loser. Jeremy Paul Olson tried to chuck two tomatoes at Sarah Palin while she sign books at the Mall of America. The dingbat had such bad aim that not only did he miss Sarah Palin completely, he hit a police officer in the face!

    From My Fox9:
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (FOX 9) - A man was arrested for throwing tomatoes at Sarah Palin during her book signing on Monday at the Mall of America.
Jeremy Olson, 33, allegedly threw two tomatoes from the second balcony, however did not come close to hitting Palin.
Bloomington Police report that Bloomington Commander Mark Stehlik was struck in the face with one of the tomatoes and may face charges for assaulting a police officer. Olson was booked at the Bloomington jail. He was arrested for suspicion of assault and disorderly conduct.

What a complete twit! As Palin’s stature grows on this book tour, her detractors seem to grow more and more petty by the minute. In the last month we have heard them whine about, her flying instead of taking the bus, they have bitched and moaned about her photographer charging for pictures and they went absolutely ape shit because Palin said people have a right to question Obama’s birth certificate.

Like I said way back in the beginning of this blog, the left is creating a Teflon Palin. All of these silly little attacks, complains and whines are only going to amount to a big fat “so what” come 2012. Just like when Hillary ran, the electorate treated the years of GOP attacks like old news. The only difference in Palin’s case will be that the attacks will seem unreasonable too.

Think about it, what has Palin actually done to garner such hatred? Palin has not passed any national legislation, she has not stopped any national legislation and Palin currently holds no office to accomplish either. Yet, she is treated with the same kind of hatred as George W. Bush. It simply doesn’t make sense.

So with each hate story they tell and with each tomato they throw, the left is creating the very thing they fear the most Madame President Palin.

pollution Report: Bush insiders distorted, still influence climate change debateNumerous environmental officials from the Bush administration have taken jobs lobbying on behalf of the energy industry, and some are now working to undermine efforts at a global climate change deal in Copenhagen, says a new report from a government watchdog group.

Some members of the Bush White House's environmental team "deliberately distorted critical scientific reporting on global warming" before taking jobs at oil, gas, mining and other energy companies, says a report (PDF) from Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.

"CREW identified at least 22 former Bush-era officials who have gone on to lobbying or government relations, 14 of whom are registered lobbyists," the report states. "Through lobbying and industry-manufactured 'grassroots' activities, these individuals continue to influence and confuse the debate over global warming and hamper the efforts of the current administration to help establish a public consensus on this issue."

The report notes that James L. Connaughton, the president's chief environmental adviser throughout both of Bush's terms, now works as a vice president at Baltimore-based power plant operator Constellation Energy.

And Connaughton's chief of staff from 2001 to 2005, Philip Cooney, joined Exxon Mobil "in an unknown capacity" after leaving the administration.

  32. Matthew,
I showed that there is valid concern of Bias and you like most rightwingers ignored that and deflected.

And yes, i did post a dispute with the facts. The study in question only covered a narrow area of newscasts, not the entire one and the methodology and actually results weren't available only the report.

    ReplyDelete
  33. JoeC WHAT study are you even talking about? How about providing that for a start? And here is how you dispute the FACTS: "Besides a narrow study discussing canidates doesn't relate to the overall newscast and programming." Well the study is the study, and apparently the study shows what it does cover, and that is what they published. Why don't you look up a study that covers what YOU want covered and present THAT? You are making no sense whatsoever.

There is always a valid concern for bias on BOTH sides JoeC, I am not ignoring and deflecting! You act like BBC is the pinnacle of truth mountain. Are you telling me that they aren't biased at all? As I said before, why don't you look into who funds BBC and report on that?! Yeah right.

    ReplyDelete
  34. hmmmm. i'm supposed to look into who funds the BBC, all the while you ignore who started Faux news and what his politics are right?

I act like the BBC does a much better, deeper, more thoughtful look into the news than Faux. That is true and they do that. Listen to the world service some night.

Besides don't we have enough to laugh at Faux for? i love the new Rasmussen Reports poll that adds up to more than a 100 percent as shown on Faux

    ReplyDelete
  35. I've changed my mind JoeC, you are sooooo right that the BBC is so much better than Fox. Here are some of their highlights you dumbass:

BBC confesses bias on religion, politics

Internal memo reveals execs saying Bible tossed in trash OK, not Quran

An internal British Broadcasting Corporation memo reveals senior figures admitted the national news agency was guilty of promoting left-wing views and anti-Christian sentiment.

News of the memo, reported by British media, comes as the BBC continues to struggle against claims of biased reporting on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and distorted coverage of the global fight against terror, reports the Israeli YnetNews.com.

The admissions of bias were made at a recent "impartiality" summit the BBC held. Most executives admitted the corporation's representation of homosexuals and ethnic minorities was unbalanced and disproportionate, YnetNews.com said. The British news agency, the report said, leaned too strongly towards political correctness, the overt promotion of multiculturalism, anti-Americanism and discrimination against the countryside.

At the summit, executives were given a fictitious scenario in which they were asked to make a judgment.

In the illustration, Jewish comedian Sasha Baron Cohen would participate in a studio program in which guests were allowed to symbolically throw in a garbage bin things they hated.

What would you do, the executives were asked, if Cohen decided to throw kosher food, the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Bible and the Quran in the trash.

Everything would be allowed, the executives said, except for the Quran, for fear of offending the British Muslim community.

The BBC also revealed its executives favored interviewing terrorist leader Osama bin Laden if the opportunity arose, the Washington Times reported.

The executives were presented with a current hot-button issue in Britain, the wearing of Muslim veils. Should a veiled woman be allowed to present the news, they were asked. The BBC's diversity editor said yes, since news anchors were allowed to wear crosses.

A senior BBC executive admitted to the British paper Daily Express, "There was a widespread acknowledgement that we may have gone too far in the direction of political correctness. Unfortunately, much of it is so deeply embedded in the BBC's culture, that it is very hard to change it."
    .....................

    ReplyDelete
  36. In the seminar former BBC business editor Jeff Randall claimed that he was told by a senior news executive in the organisation that "The BBC is not neutral in multiculturalism: it believes in it and it promotes it." The Daily Mail claims that political correspondent Andrew Marr said that "The BBC is not impartial or neutral. It's a publicly funded, urban organisation with an abnormally large number of young people, ethnic minorities and gay people. It has a liberal bias not so much a party-political bias. It is better expressed as a cultural liberal bias". These comments were reported in the UK national press a couple of weeks later. At the seminar Helen Boaden (Director of BBC News) said that the BBC must be impartial on the issue of multiculturalism.
The Mail on Sunday (which was not present at the seminar) claimed that a senior executive at the seminar admitted "There was widespread acknowledgement that we may have gone too far in the direction of political correctness. Unfortunately, much of it is so deeply embedded in the BBC's culture, that it is very hard to change it".
    ............

The BBC has also been accused of racism. In a speech to the Royal Television Society in 2008, Lenny Henry said that ethnic minorities were "pitifully underserved" in television comedy and that little had changed at senior levels in terms of ethnic representation during his 32 years in television. Jimmy McGovern in a 2007 interview called the BBC "one of the most racist institutions in England".
The BBC is striving for 12.5% of its staff to be from a black and minority ethnic background (12% at 31 January 2009). This is over 4 percent higher than the current percentage of ethnic minorities in the UK. However, it has been argued that much of its ethnic minority staff are cleaners, security guards and other menial labour, rather than as presenters and programme makers.
    ...........
A report commissioned by the BBC Trust, Safeguarding Impartiality in the 21st Century, published in June 2007, stressed that the BBC needed to take more care in being impartial. It said the BBC broke its own guidelines by screening an episode of The Vicar of Dibley which promoted the Make Poverty History campaign. A full transcript of the impartiality seminar is included as an appendix to the report.
The Evening Standard claimed that the report showed the BBC "is out of touch with large swathes of the public and is guilty of self-censoring subjects that the corporation finds unpalatable".

    ReplyDelete
  37. Wow, THIS must be why you are so rabidly PRO-BBC JoeC. Because they are so RABIDLY anti-American. You must be proud of this one:

In October 2006, Chief Radio Correspondent for BBC News since 2001 and Washington correspondent Justin Webb said that the BBC is so biased against America that deputy director general Mark Byford had secretly agreed to help him to "correct" it in his reports, and that the BBC treated America with scorn and derision and gave it "no moral weight".
In April 2007, Webb presented a three part series for BBC Radio 4 called Death To America: Anti Americanism Examined in which he challenged a common perception of the United States as an international bully and a modern day imperial power.
American conservative news commentator Bill O'Reilly has for some time now labelled the BBC as the liberal media in the UK for its "inherent liberal culture."

    ReplyDelete
  38. JoeC it sounds like you watch Fox more than I do. I don't even know what you are talking about with the poll. But polls do occasionally add up to greater than 100 if the groups are rounded to the nearest whole number. For example, 50.5 say one thing, 49.5 say another, they round to 51 and 50, that's 101. Are you feeble at math?
