  1. Teachers UNION and NAACP ... EPIC FAIL:

Teacher's Union, NAACP Sue to Keep Failing Schools Open
    Posted by The MaryHunter

In a perversion of all common sense, a New York Teacher's Union and the NAACP are actually suing to prevent the closing of 19 low-performing New York City schools.

The union said the plan to close the schools violates state law because it fails to consider the impact of the closings on the community. New York City NAACP leaders said the decision will hurt minority students.

Or to look at it another way: the teacher's union implies that the underperforming schools are a benefit to the community. Likewise, the NAACP believes that keeping the failing schools open will help minority students.

The audacity of the entrenched left is something to behold -- fighting for their own interests at the expense of those they claim to want to help.

  4. Hypocrat's VP Candidate a Wife Beater. I bet FAILk voted for team Kerry Edwards:

John Edwards Beat Up Wife Elizabeth, National Enquirer Reports
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/02/03/john-edwards-beat-up-wife_n_448182.html

A disturbing report from National Enquirer claims that Elizabeth Edwards told a close friend that her husband John beat her during a marriage-ending fight. The source, unnamed, passed a lie detector test, the Enquirer report said.

The friend spoke in detail about the terrifying incident - and passed a lie detector test regarding the shocking fight.

"John beat me," Elizabeth had told the friend.

Other sources confirm that the couple's furious confrontation was the "final straw" in 60-year-old Elizabeth's decision to end their 32-year marriage.

According to the source, Elizabeth said this was the final straw: "When he (John) made the decision to hit me, it was over." The Enquirer also recounts incidents where Elizabeth "lashed out physically at John."

The news marks the first reports of violence in the tragic Edwards saga -- but comes after a string of revelations, each worse than the last, about the bumpy road that got them here. Last week, People reported that the pair was legally separating. The last straw for Elizabeth was meeting Rielle Hunter and John Edwards' love child, People reported, citing Elizabeth's sister.

Since then, more details have trickled out from long time John Edwards aide Andrew Young's new book, "The Politician," which recounts a series of incidents in the crumbling marriage, including an alleged John Edwards sex tape.

  5. Video: MS-NBC cuts away when Obama slams … MS-NBC
    BY ED MORRISSEY

Steve Krakauer catches this strange coincidence for Mediaite, in which the network appears to take Obama’s advice about Obama. Fox didn’t even bother to cover the visit by Barack Obama to his fellow Democrats on Capitol Hill, which featured another strange coincidence in question selection:

Politicos watching President Barack Obama’s question-and-answer with Senate Democrats might notice: Many of the lawmakers pressing the president are vulnerable entering the 2010 election.

So far, Sens. Arlen Specter (Pa.), Michael Bennet (Colo.), Blanche Lincoln (Ark.), Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.) and Barbara Boxer (Calif.) have taken to the microphones to ask Obama questions and, at the same time, stress their Democratic bona fides. …

Specter is trailing Republican challenger Pat Toomey (Pa.) in preliminary polls, despite a six-term incumbency. Meanwhile, Bennet’s seat is regarded as a toss-up, and Lincoln has faced near-crippling pressure from her opponents on the healthcare front.

“Takeaway from obama sen dems meeting: new transparency. It’s transparent that this was forum for vulnerable dems 2 campaign,” wrote CNN’s Dana Bash.

  6. You know it is wrong the way the Democrats are treating these school closings. We need to break the teachers unions. If they don't make the changes that are best for our kids then let them strike. We will sue them for withholding an education to our kids.

  7. If you own a Toyota you need to stop driving them. The brakes are having major problems. I hope there isn't a coverup.

44% Say Terrorist Trials Should Be Held at Guantanamo, 33% Disagree
    Monday, February 01, 2010

The Obama administration is moving a planned terrorist trial out of New York City because of growing public opposition, and 44% of U.S. voters say the trials of all suspected terrorists linked to 9/11 should be held at Guantanamo Bay.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 33% oppose holding those trials at the naval base in Cuba where many suspected terrorists have been imprisoned for the past several years. Another 23% are undecided.

Voters believe much more strongly that Guantanamo Bay prisoners should be tried in a military tribunal rather than a civilian court. Sixty-seven percent (67%) favor the military tribunal route, and just 15% are opposed. But 18% aren’t sure.

This sentiment appears to have grown even stronger. Fifty-four percent (54%) of Americans favored military tribunals in July 2008, as the first such tribunal got under way at Guantanamo. Thirty percent (30%) of Americans said suspected terrorists should have access to U.S. courts.

  10. John what a great lead into the next post. Great minds think alike. This terrorist trial has got most Americans pissed at the Democrats. I just want to know why?
