Atheists Fight to Change Textbook Standards

Does anyone know where separation of Church and state is in our founding documents? Is it on our money,in our pledge and in the Bill of Rights? The separation of Church and state is made up by the left wing atheist. They want us to live in a godless world like they do. 6% doesn't get to dictate in a "democracy". And the separation of Church and state is so the government stays out of the Churches and telling them what they should and shouldn't preach. Religion has played a large role in our countries founding and the left wing can't keep white washing history.  Did you know that our first schools had a Bible to study from? And now the atheist want rule over what makes it into the schools on the fallacy of "separation of church and state". Our founding fathers didn't want separation of Church and state ,they wanted separation from big government progressive and we the people. Our founding fathers did everything they could to keep big government progressives out of our government. We need to get back to basics and put God back into state and kick the progressives out. That is the separation we need.

MyFoxAustin reports: The Texas Board of Education is set to make its final vote on textbook standards this week.

But not before another group is protesting those controversial proposed changes. Last week, The Coalition of Clergy made its voice heard.

At the other end of the spectrum, today the American Atheists are also taking issue with a rally at the state capitol.

  1. The libs all want democracy until it comes to them not getting their way. That is why they have the ACLU. Why not vote on taking God out of country or leaving Him in?

  2. I love how people in failed liberal states like California and Michigan (apologies. I hope conservatives can turn your beautiful state around) get all worked up over what's going on in conservative, successful Texas.

  3. Heres A Novel Idea Teach Kids Coarses They Can Actually Use When They Become Adults and Are Ready To Enter The Work Force. You Know That Darn Reading, Writing And Arithmetic.

Higher Education Will Come As Adults But With Out The Three Basic Skills What Good Is The Rest. If You Cannot Add ,Subtract,Read Or Carry On Conversation That Others Can Understand The Rest Means ZIP!

  4. I do not see why the socialists are worrried except for the very few students who may actually read beyond what their socialist teachers tell them to.

The teachers will simply avoid the truth as they have for decades. The kids who voice concern over the truth they read beyond the planned lesson will be sent to the school pychiatrist for further observation on attention, yes I said attention disorder.

  5. Why always blame the teachers? You christians wont be happy till all the kids are baptized in your religion. I don't trust christians and muslims want us all dead.

  6. I don't trust atheists, they don't believe in anything.

Really though this conversation is really not about religion but rather factual American history and it is high-time the rewriting of it stop and the truth be taught and this is a good start, but only a start as the battle continues.

  7. Who are you to say there is a god christopher? Why do you have to push your beliefs on everyone else?

  8. Chris, the government can't force people to be good little robot Christians. Shaem on you for even wanting it. As for the founders try some James Madison on for size, you know one the men behind the constitution.

The civil government ... functions with complete success ... by the total separation of the Church from the State.
    -- James Madison, 1819, Writings, 8:432

I have ever regarded the freedom of religious opinions and worship as equally belonging to every sect.
-- James Madison, letter to Mordecai Noah, May 15, 1818

    and finally the whopper...

Rulers who wished to subvert the public liberty, may have found an established Clergy convenient auxiliaries. A just Government instituted to secure & perpetuate it needs them not.

  9. Anon,
Who are you to say there is not a God?

Why do YOU have to push your DISBELIEFS on others?

What you fail miserably to realize is that this subject (Texas/School books) once again has nothing to do with religion!

IT IS ABOUT REAL AMERICAN HISTORY.

You may agree or disagree with religion of any stripe which of course you are free to do but is just one facet as to how it was started, the coutry that is.

This is about HISTORY, PLAIN AND SIMPLE!

WHY NOT READ ABOUT EXACTLY WHAT 'CHANGES' ARE BEING MADE?

You will find out that they are not changes at all but what is real history and not the revised version I assume you desire.

  10. Joe I don't want the government to make Christians. Why do you want the government to make bad little atheist out of our kids and country? Joe our founding fathers wanted the state out of the Church not the other way around. As proof look at our money,Constitution and Bill of Rights and God is all over them and in them. Now where are the words or intentions of taking God out of our country? Now we are not to be a one religion country but a free country to serve God as we will not as the government tells us too. I think you need to take a close look at how much a part God played in our country. Notice I never once said Christian of Jesus but I as well as our forefathers used the word God as well. So your theory is full of crap once again about the scary Christian take over Chicken Little.

  11. Chris, as to where are the words that suggest our Founders wnated to keep religion out of our government, please reread the previous posting of mine.

  12. Christopher,
i am confused about "Real American History' in your words, because the original textbook revisions removed Thomas Jefferson from discussion as a enlightenment thinker in place of John Calvin. I'm sure that your theory about its lack of christian intent is a nice theory and all, but replacing an American thinker and founder with a protestant religious thinker from Europe during the study of enlightenment thinkiing doesn't seem like "Real American history" to me.

Please go back and form a new theory this dog doesn't hunt.

Cynthia Dunbar, a lawyer from Richmond who is a strict constitutionalist and thinks the nation was founded on Christian beliefs, managed to cut Thomas Jefferson from a list of figures whose writings inspired revolutions in the late 18th century and 19th century, replacing him with St. Thomas Aquinas, John Calvin and William Blackstone. (Jefferson is not well liked among conservatives on the board because he coined the term “separation between church and state.”)

  13. Hay Joe are you forgetting what it says Who gave us our rights in the Bill of Right?GOD. What is on our money? In GOD We Trust. What does it say on almost every monument in DC? GOD. What does iut say in our pledge? GOD. Didn't Congress pray before every get together Joe? So you have one little ditty from a founding father and I have a mirade of tangable proof that God is all over our government and yet you only believe those few words without context as being more valid. You are funny Joe. Keep up the good work my friend.hahahahahaha. I love a good laugh

Joe to give you context. Most of our founding fathers came from the Church of England where the Church and state were one. They didn't want the state to have influence over Church not the way you want to take it. Just look at all the proof of Church and state in the documents and I gave you and then try and push your false idealogy of our founding fathers. Use some logic for a change and think for yourself instead of puking out what the left wing tought you. You are not a liberal zomby are you Joe? You do have logic don't you? Or do you believe and push everything the left tell you to?

  15. Joe where are those words of Jefferson "separation between church and state” found? Is it in any writen document? I see God in every document. In fact opur founding father put God above country in our writen documents. What you are trying to sell us doen't make a lick of common sense.

  16. The word 'God' Does not appear in the Constitution (or Bill of Rights) Jefferson does write of the 'laws of nature and nature's god' in the Declaration of Independence. IGWT on money popped up during the Civil War-not after the founding. Paper money didn't get the 'motto' until the late 50's/60's. Around the same time that 'under God' was added to the Pledge of Allegiance to show the 'godless commies' that we were a Christian nation.

Be careful, real history doesn't always back your claims.

  17. Christopher, where are you? Why aren't you defending the removal of Jefferson and the placement of Europeans as the major enlightenment thinkers?

  18. Chris, where is God in the Bill Of Rights? The Constitution? please do find it for me.

  19. Where in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution does it say their is no God Joe? If that is the best you got then give it up. Who do you think our Founding Fathers gave us our rights? God or
    Congress???????
