Church & State: Coons 'The Marxist' Is Clueless On The Constitution

Michelle Malkin: Chris Coons Can’t Name the Five Freedoms in the First Amendment

Yep, when he got caught with his own intellectual pants down, Coons runs to the moderators for cover.

It’s obvious from O’Donnell’s very specific challenge to Coons during the debate that she knows perfectly well about the establishment and free exercise of religion clauses in the First Amendment. It’s obvious that Coons is not only unfamiliar with the rest of the First Amendment, but also that he is wholly unfamiliar with where the phrase “separation of church and state” originated. And it’s obvious from the warped, gleeful spin on this exchange just how in the tank for Democrats the “objective” press — protected by our precious, poorly understood, and frquently squandered First Amendment — really is.

  1. 'Bearded Marxist' Sued 3 Times in 2007
Gateway Pundit reports: Hmm. Well this is odd. It’s like the state-run media is intentionally hiding this report to protect Democrat Chris Coons. Certainly they wouldn’t stoop that low, would they? Chris Coons was sued three times in 2007 for retaliating against public employees for their political views.

  2. it wasn't obvious to me.

What was obvious was that Christine O'Donnell is not so bright and that the right wing elites are on the prowl to protect their stupid candidates.

Using Rush Limbaugh to support her is stupid. He's a an asshat. Caught in hundreds of lies and hypocritical stances the least credible person in any room is Rush.

  3. but me i prefer to follow our founding fathers on this and refer directly to one Jame Madison and his feelings on the matter.

"The civil Government, though bereft of everything like an associated hierarchy, possesses the requisite stability, and performs its functions with complete success, whilst the number, the industry, and the morality of the priesthood, and the devotion of the people, have been manifestly increased by the total separation of the church from the State" (Letter to Robert Walsh, Mar. 2, 1819).

But like most right wingers you oppose our founding fathers vision for our country.

  4. Our Founding Fathers had a Bible for Congress and for public education. The seperation is there is to be no federal sanctioned religion. They were plenty clear on their intentions. Only the left get confused with it. They want religions off of government because the Bible and most religions are against what the Progressives are for. That is why you see it that way Joe. You are hardwired to see it that way.

  5. Founding father Ben Franklin said "Giving up Freedoms For security you would wind up with neither!

Abe Lincoln said " a house divided cannot stand"!

This regime is peddling both and that concerns many citizens. I beleive if Congress can start its Session with prayer so should schools. God Knows We need it!

Down the road I expect ACLU to file suit regarding praying in Congress. I also beleive they will go after the 10 Commandments on the Supreme Court Building. Political correctness and Uncontrolled spending is this Countries Achilles heel and we either correct the correctness and Pull way back on the spending or we will become just another European type country Greece, France, Germany and now even Britan. Hows that for a future?

    Just my opinion.

  6. " federal sanctioned religion" This is true.
Did you know that teachers in public schools are not permitted, by law, to teacher "Their" religious faith, however they can teach about religion? The law prohibiting teachers of teaching their faith, clearly violates the constitution.

The ACLU, liberal judges and school administrators have, for years, mis-interpreted the constitution.
The ACLU and liberal judges continues to mis-read the 1st which states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"

CONGRESS shall make no LAW respecting the establishment of religion nor PROHIBIT the free exercise of it.
When school administrators prohibit school kids from partaking in a religious prayer or activity at school, they are violating the 1st.
The constitution does NOT say Government (aka those who work for the government) shall not partake in the exercise of religion. Clearly states Congress to make no LAW.
    Pretty damn simple, people.
Once again, the left turn a non-constitutional issue in to an issue.

  7. We don't have Constitutional rights at work. Your boss can legally fire you for using your freedom of speach.

  8. Chris Juan Williams found that out today! NPR a Tax Payer funded entity fired him because he gave his opinion on FOX!

All should be concerned when free speech is Pentalized and Punished!
