Obama's Jobs Plan. Where Is It And How Do We Pay For It? Open Thread

Obama said to Congress to pass the plan. What plan? This was a campaign speech and nothing more. If he had a plan he would have unveiled it. But he doesn't have that plan, yet. He doesn't say how he would pay for the $437 billion in increased.

The fact is those that run the private sector, small business, don't like what Obama or Ben Bernanke had to say. But we all know that Obama says one thing and does another like a political magician. Those that create jobs have learned over the years not to listen to Obama but rather to watch what he does since they are almost always two different things. One thing we know Obama will do is take care of his civil union army.

I'd like to know what you think about the Obama jobs plan that doesn't exist yet. Liberals, now is your time to tell us how great this plan that doesn't exist is. Let us know how it will work without the support of the private sector that creates jobs.

I'd also like to know how spending more money that we do not have creates jobs without adding to our national debt. How will an extra $437 billion in stimulus do what the $847 billion in stimulus failed at do work? Or is that just another payoff to the public unions to keep them happy? Feel free to have an open debate about this new stimulus bill Obama hasn't put forward but wants passed without being seen. Let's try debating the substance of his plan that doesn't exist. Tell us how it will work to create jobs when small business says they don't see anything that will make a real difference and add stability to the economy. I can't wait to hear what you liberals have to say. To say nothing means you don't back the jobs plan either.

Conservatives, I'd like to know what you think about the jobs plans that the Republican candidates and small business have put forth to create jobs in the private sector.

President Barack Obama's promise Thursday that everything in his jobs plan will be paid for rests on highly iffy propositions.

It will only be paid for if a committee he can't control does his bidding, if Congress puts that into law and if leaders in the future - the ones who will feel the fiscal pinch of his proposals - don't roll it back.

Underscoring the gravity of the nation's high employment rate, Obama chose a joint session of Congress, normally reserved for a state of the union speech, to lay out his proposals. But if the moment was extraordinary, the plan he presented was conventional Washington rhetoric in one respect: It employs sleight-of-hand accounting.

  2. Did I hear Carney right,"Obama Wants to Put Party Ahead of Country"? Well yes, yes. Obama certainly puts party over Country. It happens to be the filth of the communist party that slime ridden teleprompter tramp is putting first. This clown needs to resign, and take the rest of the garbage with him. If not it’s beyond time for WE THE PEOPLE to take the cornerstone of America to heart and throw off this despotic, totalitarian elementary school level trash that came in with Obama, and his illiterate classmates.

  3. We have to Wait to see the rest of the DETAILS!

    Wheres the PLAN?

This is STIMULUS 2 Same Dance just a different TUNE.

Just a POLITICAL CAMPAIGN speech with as usual very litle SUBSTANCE!

Jobs Created by Government mean Paid for by Tax Payers. Not exactly a DEFICIT reducer!

All this is,is Liberals attempting to put all Politicans into the FAILURE boat they launched.

Cannot wait to see all those DETAILS in a week or so!

  6. “What he needs to do is explain to the American people how incurring more debt will get us out of debt. It’s kind of unfortunate. He kind of plays us all for fools.”

    - Sarah Palin

I see why liberals hate her so much. She makes sense.

  8. @Tom, Funny the story on the Economist online was that the potential Republican obstructionism was to blame.

@Anon, thats not the latest stats. Its a two year old piece written by Michael Cembalest at JP Morgan as a highly subjective conversation starter. Look it up.

@Steve, she needs to take Macroeconomics 101. This isn't your mother basement we are talking about. This is the most powerful economy in the world and it deserves more study than thinking it works like balancing your check book.

@Chris been reading a lot about Japan's lost decade and most of the work cites austerity measures for extending the crisis. Just the thing republicans want for the US. Great.

  9. Joe I under stand that Our Economy is now #5 in the world! Government crated jobs more often than not are short term. Economy needs Long term JOBS! Economy needs REVENUE from Earners not Government! That never has been a great way here to move economy along! Private Sector Depending on Government. #5 may be Our high point over the next couple decades! Flat Tax is a fairer way of getting all that earn to pay or even a Federal Sales Tax. ALL would pay then. Just my Opinion!

  10. Joe Japan spent way more % of GDP to get out of the neverr ending recession then we have. It wasn't becasue of austarity it was Kansian all the way. Look at Greece and the rest of the EU is you need any more proof that Kansian economics is just a theory that has been proven wrong outside of the classroom.
