Obama Implores Minister to Call Off Koran Burning

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is exhorting a Florida minister to “listen to those better angels” and call off his plan to engage in a Quran-burning protest this weekend.
Obama tells ABC’s “Good Morning America” he hopes the Rev. Terry Jones listens to the pleas of people who have asked him to call off the plan. The president called it a “stunt.”
Obama also said in the interview broadcast Thursday morning that what Jones proposes “is completely contrary to our values as Americans. This country has been built on the notion of freedom and religious tolerance.”
Obama declared: “This is a recruitment bonanza for al-Qaida.”
Not only religious freedom but freedom of speech don't forget. We need to stop blaming these idiot Koran burners and tell the Muslims to settle down. It does amaze me how everything changes when it goes from the Muslims inflaming other religions with the ground zero Mosque. It's freedom of speech when it's done to Christians. Do these idiots have the right to destroy the Qua ran in protest? Do the Muslims have the right to build their Mosque at ground zero? You bet ya! But we need to look at the start difference in the reaction of both parties. And we need to look at the way the left wing and the MSM are capitalizing on this. Ask yourself why are the left and the MSM making this into a bigger thing then it is? I do wish this idiot pastor would not go through with the burnings. It would prove his point that Islam is not a moderate religion and that it is of great danger by showing their responses to it. The pastor has nothing to gain by going through with the burnings and everything to gain by not doing them. Just like the Imam would gain much respect and admiration if he moved the ground zero Mosque. If this unstable religion becomes even more unhinged it's their fault and their doing alone. Maybe we all need to wake up to the dangers and instabilities of Islam. And Islam may need to remember that if they do anything to us because of those 35 idiots burning or not burning the Koran that the Holy Bible has two testaments to it. And we could always go Old Testament on them. Let's pray it doesn't come to that kind of pissing match.

A Muslim activist and lawyer in the U.K. is calling on Muslims worldwide to burn U.S. flags outside American embassies on Sept. 11. The activist, according to CBS news, is considered a radical, and says his “international burn the Stars and Stripes Day” is in “direct retaliation” against pastor Terry Jones and his Florida church’s plan to burn the Koran on the same day.
The man calling for the mass burning is Anjem Choudary, former leader of the banned hardline Islamic group Islam4UK. According to CBS, Choudary regularly organizes demonstrations in Britain calling for the implementation of Islamic law.
The report also says that the State Department has issued a warning to all embassies to prepare for possible backlash should the Koran burning take place as planned on Saturday.

Mo' Money Obama Want More Of Our Money

Who would have thought that none of the past 4 stimuluses would have done little to help the economy? Who would have thought that they would be asking for more of our money? Who would have thought that they would want more of our money and then blame Bush, the Republicans and the businesses that give us jobs? Who would have thought that they would punish the businesses that give us our jobs for their mistakes? I wonder why they hate the 'rich' so much? Is being 'rich' all it takes to make a Democrat hate you and punish you? Just think of all those 'rich' people in the past that got credit for making America what it is. When was the last time the unions did anything great like add something to the economy? Why were there so many union shirts at the Presidents speech? And why did they have to beg students to fill the last 75 seats for Obama's rant? Aren't businesses hurting just like we the people are? How does taking away profit from the growing companies and stock holders(grandma and grandpa) help the economy? How do these added taxes help keep or bring companies to America? How do added taxes make us more competitive in the global market? Isn't our debt and government spending hurting our countries growth and security? How is it if the Democrats take more money from let's say Ford, will Ford have more profit to share with the UAW? I just don't see why the UAW would want to do something that would hurt their profit sharing? (I can't wait to hear the unions bitch when they have to pay the obamacare Cadillac tax when the court finds it unconstitutional). Then why do they keep spending more of our futures money instead of cutting costs and becoming a leaner more agile entity? If that is the right direction what is the Democrats destination? It sure does seem like this admin and the Democratic party are out for blood and they wont be happy until they get most of the businesses, that make jobs and real growth, poorer and less productive. Lets see how many more American made cars we sell here and abroad with an added take put on them and all American made products. Wasn't a big selling point of the first stimulus bill infrastructure? What am I saying? These are the same people that said that unemployment wouldn't go past 8%,that debt was bad, that abortions and "you can keep your doctor",that they were change,that they would make things better not much worse,that they would make our enemies like us...? Now I see why they couldn't fill the seats in a small auditorium. Most people can lie to themselves why waste your time listening to a man that hasn't gotten anything right yet? I'd sooner watch the Three Stooges then Obama,Pelosi and Reid, I'd get more out of it. Enjoy the day because soon there will be 35 people at a FL church burning Quar'ans and that will be all it takes to set the Muslim world and the MSM on end and in "Allah Akbar" mode. If all it takes is 35 people not acting Christian to set off the Islamic religion then maybe we need to start asking them why they can do unspeakable things to Christians,Jews,Hindus...and even other Muslims, they threaten us and everyone with death and jihad at the drop of a hat! We and the MSM have no problem pointing out the 35 stupid people burning the Quar'an but forget about the thousands of Muslims calling for the death of all Americans because of it! Let's stop acting afraid of the cricket and focus on the bear about to kill you. And knowing the left they will blame the cricket for pissing off the dangerous bear instead of blaming the bear. But it all must make perfect sense to them.

Time for changes in Michigan by my friend Brian Pannebecker

While another Labor Day holiday was observed, most Michigan residents are watching passively as businesses and their accompanying jobs leave the state in droves. Unfortunately, we have stood by and watched as more than three-quarters of a million jobs disappeared from Michigan over the last decade alone.

It's time to start doing something different.

I suggest two things; Our elected legislators in Lansing need to seriously look at passing right-to-work legislation that would allow the workers of this state to compete with workers of other states by having the choice of whether or not to join a union when they are hired by a union-represented business.

Secondly, we need to dramatically reform the business tax structure in our state. The failed "Michigan Business Tax", which replaced the reviled "Single Business Tax", needs to be scrapped and replaced with a simpler, fairer business tax that will attract businesses to Michigan, not drive them away.

Only by taking these types of bold steps will Michigan again be able to compete with more business friendly states, let alone the rest of the global economy.

But there is another issue. There is, as Norah said, a whole lot of voter anger, discontent out there. We haven't talked about the elephant in the room, and I don't mean the Republicans: race. Changing demographics. Fear of a white minority.

CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: That's so interesting.

TUCKER: Obama's election has suddenly made many white Americans aware of the loss of a white majority.

MATTHEWS: That's so interesting.

TUCKER: That's what this crazy summer has been all about. Anti-mosque construction. Anti-immigrant ravings. It, that fear is very difficult for Obama to overcome.

Michael Moore Is Still An Idiot

Dear Rahm Emanuel:

Happy Fuckin' Labor Day! I read this week that — according to a new book by Steven Rattner, your administration's former "Car Czar" — during White House meetings about how to save the tens of thousands of jobs that would be lost if GM and Chrysler collapsed, your response was, "Fuck the UAW!"

Now, I can't believe you actually said that. Maybe Rattner got confused because you drop a lot of F-bombs, or maybe your assistant was trying to order lunch and you said (to Rattner) "Fuck you" and then to your assistant "A&W, no fries."

Or maybe you did mean Fuck the UAW. If so, let me give you a little fucking lesson (a lesson I happen to know because my fucking uncle was in the sit-down strike that founded the fucking UAW).

Before there were unions, there was no middle class. Working people didn't get to send their kids to college, few were able to own their own fucking home, nobody could take a fucking day off for a funeral or a sick day or they might lose their fucking job.

Then working people organized themselves into unions. The bosses and the companies fucking hated that. In fact, they were often overheard to say, "Fuck the UAW!!!" That's because the UAW had beaten one of the world's biggest industrial corporations when they won their battle on February 11, 1937, 44 days after they'd taken over the GM factories in Flint. Inspired by their victory, workers struck almost every other fucking industry, and union after union was born. Had World War II not begun and had FDR not died, there would have been an economic revolution that would have given everyone — everyone — a fucking decent life.

Nonetheless labor unions did create a middle class for the majority (even companies that didn't have unions were forced to pay at or near union wages in order to attract a workforce) and that middle class built a great country and a good life.  You see, Rahm, when people earn a fucking good wage, they spend it on stuff, which then creates more good paying jobs, and then the middle class grows fucking big. Did you know that back when I was a kid if you had a parent making a union wage, only one parent had to work?! And they were home by 3 or 4pm, 5:30 at the latest! We had dinner together! Dad had four weeks paid vacation. We all had free health and dental care. And anyone with decent grades went to college and it didn't fucking bankrupt them. (And if you ever used the F-word, the nuns would straighten you out in ways that even you couldn't bear to hear about).

Then a Republican fired all the air traffic controllers, a Democrat gave us NAFTA and millions of jobs were moved overseas (hey, didn't you work in that White House, too? "Fuck the UAW, baby!"). Unions got scared and beaten down, a frat boy became president and, like a drunk out of control, spent all our fucking money and our children's money, too. Fuck.

And now your assistant's grandma has to work at fucking McDonald's. Ask her for pictures of what the middle class life used to look like. It was effing cool! I'll bet grandma doesn't say "Fuck the UAW!"

Hey, don't get me wrong, Rahm. I fucking like you. You single-handedly got the House returned to the Dems in 2006. But you and your boss better do something fucking quick to put people back to work. How 'bout making it a crime to take an American job and move it out of the country? In other words, treat it as if It were a fucking national treasure like you would if someone stole the Declaration of Independence out of the National Archives or some poacher stole eggs out of the nest of an America bald eagle.

Or how 'bout arresting some of those Wall Street guys who fucking stole our money, the money that ran the American economy. Now that would take some fucking guts.

And maybe, just maybe, that one act of real guts might save your ass come November 2nd.

Oh, I can just hear you now: "Fuck Michael Moore!" No problem. But Fuck the UAW? How 'bout if I just leave off the ‘A’ and the ‘W’?

It counts Whitman's rifle and Speck's knife, and the television programs which glorify violence in order to sell toys to our children.

When Robert Kennedy said these words, the unemployment rate in America was 3.7%. Today, it is almost three times as high. Too many of our working brothers and sisters are out of work, thanks to over a decade of economic mismanagement. 10% of us are unemployed, and the other 90% work like dogs to try to avoid joining them. Which is just what the bosses want.

But it doesn't have to be that way. I look forward to a Labor Day where every worker has a job, every worker has a pension, every worker has paid vacations, and every worker has the health care to enjoy life. Our Republican opponents call that France. I call it America, an America that is Number One.

Not #1 in wasted military expenditures.

Not #1 in number of foreign countries occupied.

Number One in jobs. Number One in health. Number One in education. Number One in happiness.

As Robert Kennedy famously said, "I dream of things that never were, and ask 'why not?'" Why not? Let's make it happen.

And then all of us who are Americans, including the ones today who are jobless, homeless, sick and suffering, we all can then say, "I am proud to be an American."
