Pastor Removal from Television Removal of Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, Charles Stanley, David Jeremiah and other pastors from the airwaves. An organization has been granted a Federal Hearing on the same subject by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in Washington , D.C. .. Their petition, Number 2493, would ultimately pave the way to stop the reading of the gospel of our Lord and Savior, on the airwaves of America . They got 287,000 signatures to back their stand! If this attempt is successful, all Sunday worship services being broad cast on the radio or by television will be stopped. This group is also campaigning to remove all Christmas programs and Christmas carols from public schools! You, as a Christian, can help! We are praying for at least 1 million signatures. This would defeat their effort and show that there are many Christians alive, well and concerned about our country.... As Christians, we must unite on this. Please don't take this lightly. We ignored one lady once and lost prayer in our schools and in offices across the nation. Please stand up for your religious freedom and let your voice be heard. Together we can make a difference in our country while creating an opportunity for the lost to know the Lord. Please, if you don't wish to participate, return this email to whoever sent it to you so they can at least keep this email going or forward it to someone you know who will wish to participate. Dr. Dobson is going on CNBC to urge every Christian to get involved. I hope you will sign and forward to all your family and friends. Please press forward, CLEAN UP THE MESSAGE, and forward this to everyone you think should read this.... Not a word said ,, but actions speak very loud. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:9 that if you confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved |
Please copy this and send it out to all your friends and family. We need to start standing up for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are Christian soldiers and we need to act like it. If you have any thought about this subject feel free to post them. You know I except all points oif view so feel free to voice them.
Well...Joel Osteen doesn't preach the gospel, he preaches the "prosperity gospel" which is basically "God wants you to be rich and be happy."
ReplyDeleteand I wouldn't exactly call Joyce Meyer a "pastor" either.
But...your point is valid. :)
As I no longer follow 'man-made' religious organizations (25+ years),I am a man of Faith in Our Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ, simply put-a Christian.
ReplyDeleteI am aware of Osteen but not the others and his broadcasts,in my opinion, preech the Good word effectivly to a large, attentive and often needful audience.
That said and with personal family experience, folks such as him bring much joy and comfort bringing the Word of God to those who cannot venture out to services on their own (as they would prefer) right to them. Also there are much younger than I (45) who want to hear the message, but thanks to liberals, are shunned by their piers if they even speak of Gods' name,so this indeed helps them as well.
Then think of TV in prison's and juvenile detention center's,can't hurt there can it?
Do not think so much of the messenger on this but rather the one who needs the message. In doing so, you are more Christian than you yourself may believe.
I should add this caveate for liberals in my last paragraph,,,,,
ReplyDeleteDo not think so much of the messenger on this but rather the one who needs the message. In doing so, you are more CHARITABLE than you yourself may PROCLAIM..
As a Lutheran I agree with you 100% Mama. The problem is we need to stand up for their rights of religion too. I always tell those prosparity preachers,"where in the Bible did everyone get right and have good times by following the words of God?" It's just a group that thinks by praying a certain way you can control God. The things I read in the Holy Bible are warnings of how hard it is to be a Bible based Christian. The thing I was pointing out is the attack on Christianity. We are all apart of that if you believe Jesus Christ was the Son of God and Man and were baptized.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it the TV shows now can have two girls kissing and boys. Sex and partial nuditiy and take the Lords name in vien. But it is wrong to have a person preack about God. This is what the liberals want and they will make the FCC do it. We Christians of organized religion are the enemy of liberals. I got away from organized religion just like Christopher did. But I found that Lutheral MS is as Bible based as I could find. We do not add nor subtraced anything from the Bible and that is why I was drawn to Lutheran MS.
ReplyDeleteThank you Big Chris for pointing out that this story is false. I will leave it up so others learn of some of the things going around that are false.
ReplyDeleteChris, did you see the Best and brightest in Dec. Esquire. They included a self-professed evangelist (not tele) who discussed how many athesists actually believe in Christ, but not christians.
ReplyDeleteAs a lasped MS Lutheran (both grade and high school Lutheran educated) i found that thought to be more correct than people know. If many of todays believers knew how unChrist-like their rhetoric and actions were they might understand how anti-christian sentiment grows.
Yeh a lot of people are anti-Christian because they see a Christian sin and think they aren't Christian. And then there are the people that think they are better then the "so called Christians". I see that with athesists a lot. They point out the fact that all have fallen short of the glory of God. They point out the Christians sin and that is what makes them less then the unbelievers. Have you ever met an athiest that hasn't tryed to push their belief on others? And yet that is their main complaint with Christians. Athiest like to preach their beliefs while telling Christians they shouldn't push theirs. Like I have said many times in the past. I go to Church because of my sins not because I am sinless. Every Sunday I confess my sins and I'm fogiven. If someone changed the word "Christian" with black,Jap or Arab they would be considered a bigot. If you judge a person, country or religion by what others have done then that person is a bigot. Doesn't an athiest not believe in God? Don't you mean that athiest believe in Jesus the man and not the God? Isn't being a Christian a belief in Christ? JoeC you said, "If many of todays believers knew how unChrist-like their rhetoric and actions were they might understand how anti-christian sentiment grows." As a Christian when I see a Christian sinning I know that I sin and everyone sins and fall short of the glory of God. But when a non Christian sees a Christian sin they hold them to the fire without forgivness. Do they do that because they think they are better then the profest Christian sinner? Or is it because they think a Christian sinner is less then an athiest sinner? No one is perfect and all sin. If an athieist think that because you are a Christian you never sin again then that is the athiests beliefs not the Christians. This is my perspective on said subject. I'm not trying to convert anyone as I know I can't convert anyone. JoeC please know I'm not calling you an athiest or anything. And because I am a Lutheran doesn't mean that I hate all other types of Christians. All I can say is I try to do my best with what God has given me. Do I sin? You bet ya. But I try and do my best and when I fail which I do all the time I ask for forgiveness. I'm sure many of you think I am mean. But I pray for everyone on this blog no matter what their beliefs left or right.
ReplyDeleteChris, your missing the point. I am not talking about how indivdual christians act, but how as a group the rhetoric and poltical actions reverberate amongst semi-believers and non-believers alike. I consider myself a christian, i believe in Christ, the forgiveness of sins and a personal relationship with God. I do not believe in christianity, nor organised churches of any denomination.
ReplyDeleteThere is way to much arrogance and judgement within organised evangical churches in America. Too much anger towards sinners and non-christians, rather than love and fogiveness. I often tell my family (i do love them, but damn) that they represent the modern day pharicees and sadducees. That they feel they are so superior to us non-professing and unbelieving and that they feel their beliefs are so much more moral than ours that they fail to be like Christ.
I wouldn't hold you to the fire for sinning, but for thinking your better than me or more likely to go to heaven than me, i would.
Take someone like Mike Huckabee, a gentle soul capable of crossing barriers and speaking to believers and non-believers alike and place him next to someone like Sarah Palin, who appeals only to the base of the evangelical wing of the party. can you see the differance? I can. I've heard Mike talk about abortion in terms that appeal to liberals and conservatives alike, discussing not only abortion but the suprisingly high infant morality rate of our nation, while Sarah tends to draw lines in the sand, demonizing us while preening for the base.
I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” Mahatma Gandhi
It kind of sounds like you are the one doing the judging. I know there are people out there that say they are Christian while totally acting otherwise. But isn't that a judgement on your part? And Gandhi's religions were killing each other. Hindu and Muslim. There aren't many people like Gandhi in this world. I like you wish everything was perfect but reality is otherwise. But it does sound to me like you are judging those that might be judging you. And because of that you feel the religion of Christianity is corrupt. You are one harsh judge of your fellow man. I believe God not man told us what will get us into Heaven. It's called the Holy Bible. I'm sure there are a lot of Christians like you say but I'm equally sure there are non Christians that are no different then the Christians. Law is Law. In all religions the law is the same. The golden rule covers them all. Even athiest know the law and follow the golden rule. So why do you on the left want to hold us to a higher standard for not holding to the law. Why do you expect more from us Christians then any other group?
ReplyDeleteChris, i am sure that it is a judgement on my part. I'm surely no better than those who pass judgement on me, perhaps worse. My only thing is i don't hold the law up and act like i am upholding it. I gladly break bread with the tax collectors, the prositutes, the samaritians and worse of all the social lepers (atheists).
ReplyDeleteThe problem is i don't expect you to not sin, i welcome that, and i expect that you'll be as base as the rest of us, but i figure that you'll get the plank outta your eye first thats all. It should be that simple.
Hmmm? 'social lepers',sounds like judgement again but misplaced. Atheists I desribe as ignorant (adjective) as most of them were brought up not knowing of God and/or his teachings.
ReplyDeleteThose people that were, but turned away willingly, well God did give humanity free will, but at least they are not ignorant of Him.
Now back to 'social lepers' which I equate to liberals in general;
war on poverty = more IN poverty
medicare/medicaid = broke, rationing, high cost to the elderly and poor.
'obama stimulus' = America BANKRUPT
The list goes on and on, but that is social lepersy!
If it is a judgement, then do you do any better by "applying" it broadly to people of a different political party? I was using the term tongue in cheek, not seriously.
ReplyDeleteI wondered if you thought about your comment in the terms of does it glorify God, does it encourage others to come to God? In fact your comment illustrates my feelings. You drive people away and then claim its their fault, but you never gave them a chance.
I see that tone and attitude taking much more hold in the MS the past few years. Once content to leave the angry discourse of politics to others they have become more and more the phariscees, always making a show about how Godly they are, and how others aren't.
Christopher didn't drive away anyone from God. How powerful do you think a Christian is? JoeC you know we people have no real influence over a persons belief in God or not. We can't make you a Christian or make you turn away from God. That is between you and the Holy Spirit.
ReplyDeleteChris, I think christians are powerful enough to convert and offend. Thats where i'll leave it at.
