Do We Really Need A New Agency Because Washington DC Got One Big Snow Storm?

Posted by Erick Erickson       These people never stop generating the laughs.
There are thirty inches of snow in Washington, DC. Here in Macon, Georgia, an area global warming scientists have long predicted would become a desert, we are 24 inches into a rain surplus in the past 365 calendar days.
You know what this all means right? We need a new federal agency to “study and report on the changing climate.”
Commerce Secretary Gary Locke and Jane Lubchenco, head of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, announced NOAA will set up the new Climate Service to operate in tandem with NOAA’s National Weather Service and National Ocean Service.
“Whether we like it or not, climate change represents a real threat,” Locke said Monday at a news conference.
Lubchenco added, “Climate change is real, it’s happening now.” She said climate information is vital to the wind power industry, coastal community planning, fishermen and fishery managers, farmers and public health officials.
Please tell me, when is the climate not changing? As we orbit the sun orbiting the center of the Milky Way Galaxy our climate will, as it has done since God first said “Let there be light”, continue to change.
There is nothing new under the sun. This is just the 21st century equivalent of the 5000 year old sun worshipping religions.

  1. Chris, you have a way of coming up with the most ridiculous topics and headlines.

I'm sure there is more justification for a new agency than the recent snowstorm. Why don't you do a little more digging, rather than just trying to adhere to your far right wing agenda.

  2. These people are right about you Bruce. You have something wrong with you. Why do we need more agencies and more government when our country can't aford what we have now?

  3. "I'm sure there is more justification for a new agency"

Sure is, it is the far left socialist agenda of an ever expanding and intrusive government.

  5. Thats it in a nutshell Martin. And more intrusion of governemnt into our lives and more power over the states. We are loosing our Republic and the states are giving it all up for some cash.

  6. Martin I see you are from the UK. What is the take on this 'global warming' hoax in the UK?

  7. I'm not saying we need a new agency, but Chris' saying that the agency is being proposed because of a snowstorm is ridiculous. I'm sure it's more involved than that.

That's why Republicans have no credibility when it comes to governing. Republicans often do what Chris does with this headline, make ridiculous claims, then expect people to believe their claims.

All I said was that if a new agency is formed, I'm sure it would have better rationale than a snowstorm.

  8. Bruce, I provided your "rationale" but that is not the term I myself utilize.

  9. Then Bruce you need to come up with other reasons for a new agency. Don't be a typical guttersnipe. Prove the story wrong or all you are doing is flinging crap and retoric and we stopped believing you a long time ago Bruce. You tell a lie wraped up in 10% truth and then you keep going back to the 10% as proof that you didn't lie. Typical liberal. At least JoeC and vomamike aren't like that. I respect them.

  12. Chris, you left out the rationale for the change.

"Researchers and leaders from around the world met last month in Denmark to discuss ways to reduce climate-warming emissions, and a follow-up session is planned for later this year in Mexico.

"More and more people are asking for more and more information about climate and how it's going to affect them," Lubchenco explained. So officials decided to combine climate operations into a single unit.

Portions of the Weather Service that have been studying climate, as well as offices from some other NOAA agencies, will be transferred to the new NOAA Climate Service."

Makes pretty good sense to me, Chris.

  13. Bruce Makes SENSE to You than Citizens DO have RIGHT to ASK Questions ABOUT Data and HOW it Was Used. Conclusions WERE Reached With Faulty Figures SHOULD at the Very Least BE Reevaluated BEFORE Cap and Tax is CONSIDERED!

  14. It would Bruce. That is the funny part. You believe it.
