Note these signs were brought in and professionally made, as compared to those shown above at the tea party. That being said, the counterprotesters were gracious enough to let me interview them. It will take time to upload all the content, but here's a sampling I got from couterprotester 'Karen':
None of them could tell me what Constitutional authority Congress had, except to point to social security and

Chris, it's been a busy weekend and beginning of the week. I hope to have the pictures and video that I took uploaded by tomorrow (have a bunch of running around to do today).
ReplyDeleteTEA Party was a blast, both at the one in Lansing and the Clinton Twp. I got some video of the idiot counter-protesters at the Clinton Twp. one, can't wait for you to see the footage! LOL
Chris, I wonder why Comrade Obama doesn't call for these people trying to disrupt and misconstrue the TEA Party demonstrations to stop their buffoonery? The President really seems to be encouraging this. His silence is deafening! Could you imagine his outrage if the TEA Partiers behaved in the manner demonstrated above? How pathetic these liberal losers are.
ReplyDeleteThe whole Democratic Party think it's great. They were some scary people at that liberal counter protest. I can't wait to see the pictures and the video. That women in this video didn't even understand why she was there. Talk about a lamberal. Bah bah baaaahaha. John you need to send that counter protest tape to Kreg Olbermenn or Raecal Mancow and they could use it on their failing shows.lol. Send it to Fox. They will love it.
ReplyDeleteBest joke for 2010 so far;
ReplyDeleteGeorge Bush, Queen Elizabeth, and Vladimir Putin all die and go to hell. While there, they spy a red phone and ask what the phone is for. The devil tells them it is for calling back to Earth.
Putin asks to call Russia and talks for 5 minutes. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is a million dollars, so Putin writes him a check.
Next Queen Elizabeth calls England and talks for 30 minutes. When she is finished the devil informs her that the cost is 6 million dollars, so she writes him a check.
Finally George Bush gets his turn and talks for 4 hours. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is $5.00.
When Putin hears this he goes ballistic and asks the devil why Bush got to call the USA so cheaply.
The devil smiles and replies: "Since Obama took over, the country has gone to hell, so it's a local call."
hey astroturf signs are okay. just ask the Tea Party rally at Washington DC.
ReplyDeleteMichael Patrick Leahy, an organizer of the Take the Town Halls to Washington project that is bringing Tea Party activists to the capital to lobby Democrats on President Obama’s health-care bill, admitted that the RNC “did provide the signage,” but said he didn’t know the details of the arrangement with Republicans and couldn’t explain how the signs got there. “They just showed up,” he said.
An RNC official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told The Daily Caller that the signs were given to the group at its request.
chris could you and the rest of the Tea Party be consistent? If professional signs are okay for the TEA PARTY how can they be wrong for the counter protest?
And yes, counter protests are stupid. All of them, cept for those counter protesting neo-nazis and the Westboro bapist church.
Wow, Joe has been beating that horse for a long time. Joe, that story's older than dinosaur poop. You find ONE instance where Republicans provided signs (with the name covered up, I might add, and I guess I have to add that because you sure won't) and suddenly the TEA Party is astroturf? LOL I guess that would continue to prove my point that the Hypocrat party is racist because they have one instance of a KKK member still serving in the Senate.
ReplyDeleteJoe, you know the point is that Pelosi and the Hypocrats charged that the TEA Party was astroturf, when nothing could be further from the truth. It's just funny to continue to rub the Hypocrat lieberal's noses in the fact that THEY are the astroturf with the deep pockets and the SEIU-provided signs. Take a look at the TEA Party pictures, when I was there I didn't notice ONE "professionally" made or production sign.
But man, was that woman a real Constitutional scholar or what? And how about her definition of racism? I guess Medicare is racist by her definition, with all those rejected claims they make. Racist old Hypocrat entitlement program! What a shocker! LOL
Joe, don't you think President Obama and the Hypocrat Party as a whole should denounce the counter-protester's attempts to "infiltrate" the peaceful TEA Party protesters and their attempts to stir up trouble? I heard Ed Schultz and a guest speaker this evening and they were talking about how the slurs and inflammatory rhetoric needs to be stopped, but funny thing is he was acting like it was the TEA Partiers doing it! Funny, but the TEA Partiers are the most peaceful protests EVER and they are being smeared by people like you as being racist homophobes, etc etc. All the TEA Party wants is less government and lower taxes, and the government out of people's business, no matter what their race, creed, color or sexual orientation. It's the Hypocrats that like to race discriminate (hiring quotas) and prosecute laws differently depending on your sexual orientation and "hate speech". It's the Hypocrats who spend their days trying to undermine the Constitution and it's protections of our rights. I sure don't think the liberals pledge allegience to the flag of the United States of America at the beginning of every rally, and sing the National Anthem, do they? Maybe Bruce can answer that. Bruce, when you pledge allegience to the flag, do you repeat the words "onenationunderGod"? Or do you skip that part?
ReplyDeleteJoe, you know, I went to the Lansing TEA Party, and I was talking with some counter-protesters when the TEA Party started to say the pledge and sing the National Anthem, and you know those counter-protesters wouldn't do either? I was really surprised. They'll cut off their noses to spite their face. I was like, come on people, because you are against us you are against the United States of America? I mean, they were practically admitting it at that point!
Some of them were the biggest bunches of assholes you would ever see. I know even you (as a liberal) would hate them. Not all of them were though; there were a couple of guys that I talked to that listened to what I had to say, and had some good points of view and stuff. It was funny when they asked me why I was with all these racists, and some black people walked by and I was like "WHA?!?!", LOL, and then the black guy Marcus Lloyd or something got up and started singing, and then there was the Hispanic rapper who was awesome. You could tell all those lieberals listen to is Olbermann. That should make you proud, eh Joe?
Oh, and there was a real NUT-JOB sitting on the Capital steps, he had a sign and it was SCARY looking at it, because it gave me a good idea of how his mind was working. It looked like something you might put together, with a picture of Palin's head in cross-hairs, and all kinds of whacked-out gibberish on it. I had to tell my cousin about him, so he could move his son away from that guy. Pride of the liberals he must have been, that was a nut-job for sure. He was just sitting on the steps looking with RAGE at the TEA Partiers. SCARY.
Good job with the pictures and video, Chris. I have been waiting to see them and it's well worth the wait. Of course that guy with the bullhorn needs to use it at the other end of his torso. :))
ReplyDeleteJohn has all the great video and pictures.
ReplyDeletejohn, just asking you guys to be consistent. You can't point out professionally done signs when your group also uses them. Just have some criticisms that you not subject to yourself.
ReplyDeleteAs for how people sound, well dumb ones show up all the time. Your anti-healthcare ones showed how dumb they were too. Like the doctor with the sign (Obama Voter one) who couldn't tell Alan Colmes what he disliked about the bill, but he was upset with it.
John as for the astroturf nature of the Tea Party i think your turning a blind eye to reality. Alot of the Tea Party group(s) funding comes from the RNC through backdoor channels. I think your smart enough to realize that and see how things work. It doesn't get pressed on rightwing social and media sites but the evidence is out there.
I've commented before that i find protest and counter protest to be stupid and brings out the extreme partisanship that i dislike. Thats goes for your little bit at the Peters townhall too. Nothing but a waste of time. Let them have their freedom of speech and ignore it if you don't like it. You never prove anything to anyone. Now i do have one counter protest that i advocate for. Anyone who counters the Westborro baptist church. Protesting funerals is a disease that America needs less of. No matter how much i may dislike you, your life, whatever there is no decency in protetsing your families grief. I think we agree there.
JoeC I Agree Totally With You On That Bunch Of Idiots From Westborro. To Do What Their Doing Is Disgraceful. Freedom Of Speech Is Guarenteed But Like Yelling "FIRE" In Theater Common Sense and Decency Should Be Demanded.
ReplyDeleteJoe you guys are the ones that called attention to a few signs and then called them "astrotuf" constantly. You also show a picture of a Neo-Nazi Tea Party sign and call thewm all racist. And then you want us to stop with the turn about. We are entering a new era where you libs are held accountable for your actions. This new era is going to make liberal, progressive or Democrat a bad word. Just look at how much damage the Democrats have done to this country and the retibution will come from that. There is going to be a backlash to those that supported these socialist. The attatude towards unions is becoming very profound. People in general don't like to be in a hated profesion. Lawyer or used car salesman for examples. Most people believe that the unions take too much from society. The unions point out that they spend that money and that is societies benefit. Not a strong sell if you ask me. I almost never see a jacket, shirt or anything with a union on it. People are embaraced to say they are in a union. Only the far left union members don't see it. But they are blind to almost everything in reality.
ReplyDeleteChirs, i haven't pointed solely to signs and said they are astroturf. Its also the funding from the RNC and other notable conservative sources. As you and yours refer to George Soros and his involvment in the lefts politics, the right has a few of them, some of them involved longer than Moveon.
ReplyDeleteFeel free to look up the donations of the Sarah Scaife Foundation and Richard Mellon Sciafe himself. SSF is a major player in the Freedom Works tea party group. Thats the group that was part of the planning for sundays rally wasn't it.
Joe, you can believe me or not, but I saw exactly zero professionally-made signs at both the TEA Parties (Lansing and Clinton Twp) that I went to.
ReplyDeleteYou might be right Joe, about the group that planned the rally on Sunday. But that's one and arguably the largest, of the TEA Party organizations (this one being called the TEA Party Express); there are hundreds, and probably thousands of various non-affiliated TEA Party groups across the U.S. I believe it was Pelosi that coined the term "astro-turf" to apply to the TEA Parties, but nothing could be further from the truth.
Seriously, I remember hearing about TEA Party tax-day protests when Bush was President; they were holding them at post-offices. If I kept emails that long I would see if I had one from then. So it's not like every TEA Party, or even a majority, are all part of a Republican group or groups. Maybe the Repubs are trying to co-opt the groups, because the message adheres closer to what the Repub's supposed message is and it is a growing movement, but it is truly a non-partisan group composed of Repubs, Dems and independents. In fact, some of the things the counter-protesters were saying, like the fact that we shouldn't be bailing out the banks, fits entirely within the TEA Party message. Know what I mean? The Hypocrats are just trying to put the TEA Parties in an easily-dismissed box, labeled "astro-turf". All they are doing by doing that is p*ssing off their constituents.
Remember, I wrote on here that I would contribute to Stupak's re-election campaign if he stopped that stupid bill from becoming law. I don't care about the party, sincerely, I care only about doing what is best for this country and it's people. That, I would say, goes for a majority of the TEA Partiers. They only want limited government, the freedom to earn a living and keep what they earn, and lower taxes. Is that such a despicable goal? You would think the Hypocrats would want to get in on that action as well, but it appears that limited government and lower taxes is anathema to them.
Dude 90% of the left signs are made by moveon.org,a union or some other orgainzation. We have about 10% of our signs manufatured by an organization.
ReplyDeleteJohn that is when I went to my first protest was when Bush sign over TARP. Soon after though BHO took over and made Bush look thrifty.
ReplyDeleteChris did you look up Scaife yet? I get the feeling that groups like Freedom works and others will be co-opted by the money elite conservatives are putting in. The leaders will move the group to purely republican hands instead of keeping it an independant group.
ReplyDeleteJoe, I thought Freedom Works was already bankrolled by some major conservative group ... I could be wrong, but I thought it was Dick Morris' group or something? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else/a different group.
ReplyDeleteI just think that conservatives have to stick to their guns, no matter who is in office. The whole system broke down, at least in regards to this health tax thing, when the people in office decided to not listen to their constituents. In my opinion. We don't need people in office who will do whatever the President tells them to do; if that were the case why don't we just have a King? (That's rhetorical!) What do you think, am I off base here?
That's why I like DownsizeDC.org, it's non-partisan and endorsed by a lot of different groups, some not even conservative like I believe the ACLU.
But yeah, you are right about that last sentence. The advantage here is that the TEA Party is hundreds if not thousands of individual groups, no leader (although YOU would argue Palin is the de-facto leader and I would argue not, but that's fine) of the whole group. It's like the guerrilla warfare of politics I guess.
I don't know why the Dems don't try to get involved with the TEA Party; there are already Dems that take part in them, and when they try to demonize a large group of people that merely want less government and lower taxes, they are fighting a losing battle IMO.
I'm not a party person. I will vote for the person I think is most fiscaly conservative and small government. But in all reality the Democrat have become the far left and the Republicans are trying to score big by getting all the Blue Dogs,Ind. and Libertarians the Democratic Party threw away.
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't know jack about what she is protesting about. God these liberals are dumb.
