Obama Predicted Petraeus Failure in Iraq, Now Needs Him in Afghanistan?

 What is Obama doing?

Of course, radical antiwar Chicago Senator Obama was completely wrong and at odds with General Petraeus on the Iraq Surge.

Don’t expect that to be mentioned by any state-run media outlets today.

This afternoon President Barack Obama put General Petraeus in charge of Afghanistan.

The Hill reported:

Obama has selected Gen. David Petraeus to replace McChrystal.

“If he is the choice, that’s an excellent choice. I think it’s a brilliant stroke. Clearly competent,” Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) said on MSNBC in reaction to the pick. “Clearly he’s the guy that can take over now and ram this policy through to success.”

In remarks in the Rose Garden this afternoon, the president said he’d accepted McChrystal’s resignation with “considerable regret” for controversial remarks the general had made to Rolling Stone magazine, in which he criticized Obama and other top administration officials

  1. The Confirmation Hearings Will Be Quite Interesting. When President Bush Was In Office Remember Democratic Politicans Calling General Petraeus , "BETRAY US". At That Time They Were To Say The Least Not Happy With The General. I Beleive The General Is A Patriot But Seeing Hypocrats Now Makes Me Wonder. If Hypocrats Thought He Was BAD Then Why Do They Now Support Him. This Is Another Example Of Hypocrats Speaking Out Of Both Sides Of Their Mouth! Be Aware General This Regime Has A Bus Schedule And They Care Not WHO They Throw Under The BUS!

Good Luck General With This Regime Your Going To Need It!

  2. Obama loves to use that word 'ass', doesn't he?
My response to Obama would be...'When we win'
It's that simple. Nothing short of victory.
But Obama doesn't understand victory in the theater of war, only in the political theater.

  3. Mark, when we win??? I love to hear you gung ho types talk about the war.

Hell, even fr. Gen Stan said, "i won't look like victory, it won't smell like victory.

But your here marshaling your years of military service to make it happen.

  4. Joe, unlike you, I root for the home team and believe in AND back our men and women of OUR armed forces and know they CAN and WILL win.

This is just one of many reasons I would like to show the front door of America to people like you. You don't believe in America, and it shows.

  5. Name Any War With Rules Of Engagement We Have Won? Korea, Nam ,Iraq, Afganistan.

Trying To Win Over Civilian Population Is NOT Possible In War Where Telling Friendlies From Enemies Is Impossible. Question: Do Taliban/Alquaida Have Rules Of Engagement? Try Explaining To Loved Ones Of Killed Military That "Rules Of Engagement " Is A Good Thing.

Military Must Always Answer To Civilian Authorities In Any Situation BUT When Our Young Mens Lifes Are At Stake Either Fight ,Which Includes Air Power, Or Bring OUR Troops Home And Out Of Harms Way.

  6. Mark, STFU. Your little daydreams of glory don't help America one bit.

Be realistic. Yeah eventually they can win, but how many years and how many lives are you willing to waste to get a W in the Win column? You think 15 or 20 years and ten of thousands of lives are worth that Win you are so happy to get? I don't.

I value our servicemen and women alot more than i do a Win. Why aren't you out volunteering to help get that W. Join up, do your part.

    otherwise STFU.

  7. Why are you so against America Joe? Do you want us to loose the wars? Is that why you voted for a democrat?

  8. My daydream?? LOL. It’s not a daydream, Joe. What you read is my support for them and America’s exceptionalism at being a strong nation. One that says “You come to our soil and kill OUR civilians, we will come to yours and bury your warriors.

Why is it the loony liberals always want a time frame?
After 9-11 the Government warned us this could take years, maybe a generation to be victorious against this enemy. Do you NOT remember this?
I value our service men and women just as much. They want to come back victorious and so do most Americans.
You and the left, however, are so spooked by the events of 9-11 that you just want to hide behind your walls and hope they won’t come here again.
Talk about daydreams. If we don’t do something about it, they will continue to come and butcher more American citizens.

If you can’t or won’t get behind OUR right to defend ourselves as a nation, YOU then need to “STFU” and get out of the way. You’re NOT ‘help America one bit’

I stopped by the Toyota Dealership yesterday for a look at the new Tacoma . Just for fun, I took it out for a test drive. I wanted to sense that new
feel" before they become extinct... The salesman (wearing an Obama "change" lapel pin) sat in the passenger seat describing the truck and all its "wonderful" options.

The seats were of particular interest. He explained that the seats directed warm air to your butt in the winter and directed cool air to your butt in the summer heat.
Feeling like messing with his mind, I mentioned that this must be a Republican truck.
Looking a bit angry, he asked why I thought it was a Republican truck. I explained that if it were a Democrat truck, the seats would blow smoke up
your ass year-round. I had to walk back to the dealership...damn guy had no sense of humor.
