Peace Corps Gang Rape

AP File
More than 1,000 young American women have been raped or sexually assaulted in the last decade while serving as Peace Corps volunteers in foreign countries, an ABC News 20/20 investigation has found. This is a sad finding. I pray they confront this problem head on and fix it within their culture.

  2. Nope Joe their isn't. It's hard to make rape partisan but I'm sure the MSM can find a way. But it is news and I feel it must stop, so I posted on it.

  3. Just checking. I imagine its hard to be a woman making the choice to join the peace corp. The fact that your leaving a place of relative security like America for places where the laws and customs are not only not female friendly but down right hostile at times makes the decision to join and work to help others a very charitable one.

Its amazing to me that women still do it. they face serious threats and to many extents those threats are greater to them than the men who works alongside of them. May God bless and keep them for those risks they take in the name of treating their neighbors as themselves.

  4. I've worked and lived overseas back in the 90's. I work for the world largest international exchange foundation. Part of my job in Japan was to be within contact of foreign students and businesspersons. I was in Japan when the first Gulf War started and ended. That alone put many Americans on edge. I can't imagine being alone in a country and then having those you look to for safety and then getting raped. Why do bad things happen to good people? And why do good things happen to bad people?

  5. Chris, i don't know. I wonder that all the time, like the Ted Williams case.

How do i say this right? I think that people who openly profess that God saved them or that God helped them do their best in this or that are confusing faith and God with ego.

Nothing makes Ted Williams, Gene Chizik, Cam Newton more special in God's eyes than a starving child dying in a 3rd world country, but somehow they believe that God choose them to show his glory.

Dude, you a druggie on the street, a football Coach and a football player, your not a prophet of God. I don't believe that God uses these people to show his grace or glory.

    Thats just me.

  6. Joe as we can see there are Christians In Name Only and then there are psychopaths that don't make any sense. If you go into a mental hospital you will find 2 men saying they are Jesus, one Moses and the Devil. That doesn't mean that they are Christian or Satanists. But if we look at the Bible we will see that bad things happen to those good people in the Bible most of the time. I think we both know what a person of God life looks like. I have known many people in my life that have used God or Christianity to further themselves and not the faith. Just because someone says they are a Christian or a pastor of God doesn't mean it's so. Jesus warned us of the false teachers. We shouldn't be suppriced when the show up on TV.
