RUSH: Folks, you know, I very seldom -- as you well know for 21 years -- encourage phone calls and e-mails and letters to members of Congress.  The reason that I don't do it is that I never want the charge to be leveled that whatever response you gave was not genuine, that you had been talked into it or motivated and inspired or manipulated into doing it.  I think it is pedal-to-the-metal time, and even if you have been e-mailing and faxing and calling, I think it's time to intensify it.  You call the local offices. You call the Washington office of these people, the Democrats and so forth.  The Republicans are like Martians: They can't stop this.  The Martians couldn't stop it, the Republicans can't stop it. Not with votes. They don't have the votes to stop it, but you can.  The only reason we are where we are now is because of you, the American people.  That's the truth of the matter.  I normally don't do this, but time to throw down the gauntlet here and really ratchet it up, to go along with all the other pressure that is being brought to bear elsewhere throughout the rest of the media….
… The lines are busy. Some people are getting through and some people aren't, but what you can also do is Google "Code Red." Just put in "Code Red." Just search for it. You'll find a website link.
The Hill reports the results of Rush’s call to arms was:
"House phone lines were nearing capacity on Tuesday as conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh encouraged fans to call in their objections on healthcare legislation.
The House e-mail system was also deluged in what the House’s technology office called “a very significant spike” in traffic.
The office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) sent out a system-wide advisory to member offices at 2 p.m. Tuesday, warning them of the dramatic increase in traffic..."

“Our phone system is nearing capacity,” said Jeff Ventura, spokesman for the CAO. “It got critical enough whereby we notified all systems’ administrators throughout the House that the phone systems are overloading.”                                                                                      We conservatives of both parties have been coming together to stop this health care bill from harming our country. Call, email or protest at their local offices. Yesterday we shut down the phone lines at Capitol Hill. Get their direct numbers and call them. Tell your friends to call them. The walls of Jerico came down with noise so lets see what we can dow when we really want something or don't want it. These Progressives in Washington are taking over every private sector they can and then say they aren't socialist. Have they once found a problem that a govenment take over wont fix? We see what they have done to SSI and Medicare and all the other government ponzi scams they have started and are now out of control.

  2. Nearly One-Third of Doctors Could Leave Medicine if Health-Care Reform Bill Passes
By Christopher Neefus, March 16, 2010

    http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/62812

Nearly 1/3 of all practicing physicians may leave the medical profession if President Obama signs current versions of health-care reform legislation into law, according to a survey published in the latest issue of the New England Journal of Medicine.

The survey found that a majority of physicians said health-care reform would cause the quality of American medical care to “deteriorate” and it could be the “final straw” that sends a sizeable number of doctors out of medicine.

29.2% percent of the nearly 1,200 doctors who responded to the survey said they would quit the profession or retire early if health reform legislation becomes law. If a public option were included in the legislation ... the number would jump to 45.7%.

The medical journal published the results, saying: “While a sudden loss of half of the nations physicians seems unlikely, a very dramatic decrease in the physician workforce could become a reality as an unexpected side effect of health reform.”

Kevin Perpetua, managing partner for the Medicus Firm, reported that a reform bill could be “the final straw” in an already financially precarious industry.

“Many physicians feel that they cannot continue to practice if patient loads increase while pay decreases,” Perpetua said in the study. “The overwhelming prediction from physicians is that health reform, if implemented inappropriately, could create a detrimental combination of circumstances, and result in an environment in which it is not possible for most physicians to continue practicing medicine.”

“With an average debt of $140K, and many graduates approaching a quarter of a million dollars in school loans, being a doctor is becoming less and less feasible,” Perpetua said. “Health-care reform and increasing government control of medicine may be the final straw that causes the physician workforce to break down.”

    -- 36% said that they would not recommend medicine as a profession to others, regardless of whether health-care reform passes;
-- another 27% would still recommend medicine as a career, but not if the current reform proposal passes.

In total, 63% of doctors would not recommend the profession after health-care reform passes. Just 12% do not recommend becoming a physician now but think they would if current reform proposals pass.

Primary-care physicians, those who work in the critical fields of family and internal medicine, not only feel that they would want to quit but that they might be cast out of medicine. 46.3% of those physicians said that they would either want to leave medicine or that they would be “forced out” by the changes to the system.

Despite all the opposition to the bill as it stands, only a little more than 3% of respondents said the status quo was best, with the vast majority (62.7%) saying they believe changes are needed.

The same 62.7% said they wanted reforms made, but that they “should be implemented in a more targeted, gradual way, as opposed to the sweeping overhaul that is in (the) legislation.”

Andrea Santiago, a spokeswoman for the Medicus Firm, said those numbers were the most striking.

“Please allow me to emphasize that 96% of the physicians surveyed in our report are in favor of health reform, in some form or fashion.” “To me, the fact that so many physicians surveyed want health reform, but relatively few are in favor of the current legislation, was one of the most significant, telling results.”

  3. You mean the HypocRATS that are voting with Pelosi right? Oh, wait, they are too scared to actually vote on the BILL. Cowardly Losers. And here Comrade Bruce said they were going to campaign on the bill. How are you going to campaign on something you don't vote on?!?! BWAAAHAHAHAHA, HypocRATS indeed, good one Joey!

  4. Les Carpenter III17 March, 2010 13:13

It is now glaringly obvious the President, perhaps the most narcissistic individual to have ever occupied the White House, clearly and strongly believes he knows what is best for us all. And to prove it he is going to to whatever it takes to ram the health insurance reform bill down our collective throats.

In conjunction with the strong arm tactics of Madame Pelosi President Obama is now making it clear that come campaign time he will refuse to campaign for any recalcitrant congressmen who fails to back ObamaCare. Presidential appearance can draw in hundreds of thousands of dollar for a single evening on the stump for a candidate. Losing funding potential of this magnitude could be huge for democratic candidates and hurt their chance of re-election.

The Chosen One is also making personal calls to democratic congressmen who are still sitting on the fence weighing their votes. These congressman are typically conservative from conservative districts where support for ObamaCare is limited. Many are worried that showing support for the bill, which is unpopular with a majority of Americans will cost them their seats in November.

There are a couple of issues that seem to be getting lost in the discussion. First, is it not the responsibility of elected congressional representative to vote the way their constituents clearly indicate they want them to? Second, is it ethical for a President of these United States to either offer something in return for the vote he wants, or to employ strong arm tactics and threats to gain support? Third, shouldn't a President want congressmen to vote in support of the will of their constituents? And finally is it not the way a government of the people, by the people, and for the people is designed to work. Free of force or coercion by the leaders of the government.

It is becoming increasingly obvious that the President really believes he knows what is best for his dimwitted subjects, and he must take strong action to protect us from ourselves. Such is the mindset of all collectivist and statist sympathizing people.

Unless We The People, wake up to the very real threat before us, we may one day wake up to find we are governed by a small group of elitist's.

  5. Finally the Democrats have found their footing to stand up to all the crazy rhetoric that has been swirling around for almost a year.

We are in the final stages of approval of health care reform, something that has been attempted for over 60 years.

    It's about damn time.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Sorry Comrade Bruce, but the "crazy rhetoric" has been alllll Hypocrats. Talking about thousands dying from lack of health care, and now Obummer saying some lady is going to lose her house when she clearly isn't. Remember that one rep, was it Slaughter? Who said that the one woman had to use her dead sister's dentures? ROFLMAO ... that had nothing to do with medical (dentures go in your teeth Comrade Bruce)!

    Kamikazes away! LOL

Hey Comrade Bruce, why don't you answer any of my questions? You've had 60 years to prepare your answers after all! BWAAAAHAHAHAHA!

I hope your daughter sticks you with a reaaaal expensive health insurance plan, I'm going to laugh my ass off at you trying to pay for it!! LOL

  7. Hey Comrade Bruce, guess which Hypocrat said this:

“This bill represents a giveaway to the insurance industry,” XXX told MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell. “$70 billion a year, and no guarantees of any control over premiums, forcing people to buy private insurance…I’m sorry, I just don’t see that this bill is the solution.”

Asked, “Did we just get a “no” there?” XXX confirmed.

“If that sounded like a “no” you’re correct,” XXX said.

    ReplyDelete
  8. P.S. Comrade Bruce: This bill is going to be stillborn if they try any extra-Constitutional measures to pass it. Tied up in court for years ... held over the Hypocrat's heads for years ... destroying your party for nothing, that's going to be soooo satisfying! I told you months ago that Comrade Obama had pushed Congress into a corner where their choice wasn't to win or lose, but rather how bad they were going to lose. He should have let it go and instead of lying he should have indeed focused on the priorities America set for him: the economy and jobs. But he lied. Gonna be some FANTASTIC television ads this fall, I can't WAIT! LMAO.

    ReplyDelete
  9. John, are you absolutely nuts? The process that Nancy Pelosi is contemplating was used 22 TIMES BY REPUBLICANS. Why do you now say it's "extra-Constitutional"?

    ReplyDelete
  10. So Comrade FAILk, regressives have been waiting 60 years to do for the health care industry what they did to the nation's Social Security? What a bunch of nutters:

    America’s Addiction To Social Insurance
    Posted by: Sean

Since the days of FDR and the advent of his Social Security program in 1935 Americans have been addicted to the false sense of security that the program provides. Social Security has given Americans the false perception that they and their families are insured against the economic woes inherent of things such as old age or disability. They have been duped into the belief that each month they make contributions to a trust that will one day be payed back to them or their families.

The reality of Social Security is far different than the one perceived by many Americans. Social Security was first passed into law in 1935. The federal government began collecting taxes to fund social security in 1937. They also payed out one lump sum payment in the same year. Regular monthly Social Security payments began in January of 1940. There is only a three year gap between the time they began collecting taxes for Social Security and the time that they began making regular monthly payments. This short time period made it impossible for the amount of money being payed out to those collecting Social Security to have been properly backed by the money that the same individuals payed in. As a result, the money that one generation pays in is immediately payed out to the older generation that is collecting Social Security, and on other government expenditures. An interest-bearing IOU is put into a “fund” in place of the money that the younger generation is paying in. The debt and interest from these IOU’s continually accumulate, and given that most if not all funds paid into social security is immediately spent, the debt and interest is never paid. This debt has ballooned, and like all pyramid schemes it will eventually come crashing down; which will be a disaster for this country. The US federal government has mislead many unwitting American’s into believing that they are putting away their own money for the future; but this is simply not true. If something is not done, the Ponzi scheme that is Social Security will cause another and far more damaging economic meltdown in this country.

The time has come for us to accept our duty to preserve liberty and prosperity for future generations. We must not leave debt to be paid by our children and grandchildren. American’s must make the difficult decisions now, so that future generations will have the same opportunities that we did. This is the duty of every generation.

“The principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale.”
    -Thomas Jefferson, 1816

  11. Comrade Bruce, answer my questions! Why won't you answer my questions you pussy?

Comrade Bruce, I'll answer your MoveOn talking point with a question: WHAT did the Republicans use the "process" for 22 times?

And feel free to read the article I have posted now TWO TIMES showing why this is unconstitutional. IF you can read that is. So far it seems to me as if a monkey is doing your typing and thinking for you ...

    ReplyDelete
  12. Comrade Bruce, if you think the public approves of this bill, and/or the process being used to jam it through, you should be institutionalized.

Comrade Bruce, again I ask you, why won't the Hypocrats put it to a vote?

    LOL

    ReplyDelete
  13. Here's more for dumbass Comrade Bruce. Right from the ultra-conservative HuffPo (LOL). SO Comrade Bruce, how does it feel to support the party that CLEARLY wants to tear up The Constitution for something that the public CLEARLY does not want? You and Gary Peters are trying to shit all over The Constitution. That's Gary Peters, clearly breaking his oath of office to uphold The Constitution, if he votes for this abortion of a bill:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tony-blankley/constitutional-law-101-he_b_502371.html

Constitutional Law 101: Health Care Reform

The president and the Democratic congressional leadership are fighting furiously to pass, with no Republican votes, the ever-less-popular health bill. An AP poll last week shows that 4 in 5 Americans don't want the Democrats to pass a health care bill without bipartisan support, while almost all polls are showing support for the current bill to be at only 25% to 35%. And all polls show high negative intensity.

The resistance of our governing system to passing so unpopular a bill is so powerful that it has driven Nancy Pelosi and Louise Slaughter -- at least for the moment -- to actually publicly consider violating the constitutional process for enacting laws.

Under their announced scheme, instead of following the constitutional voting process -- i.e.

    1) The House first votes for the despised Senate bill
    2) after that is signed into law by the president
    3) the Senate passes the popular amendments that the House wants
    4) the House votes for that second Senate bill of amendments
    5) the President then signs into law

Under the proposed scheme, the Senate bill would be "deemed" to have passed the House and become law without a presidential signature. Then the Senate would pass the House-demanded amendments, and the House members would then cast only one vote -- for the amendments they like, rather than the underlying Senate bill they hate. Thus (so Pelosi's theory holds) politically protecting House members, who could say they never actually voted for the publicly despised Senate bill.

But, as has been pointed out in several venues in the last few days, Article 1, Section 7 of the U.S. Constitution requires that before a bill becomes law, (1) "Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it"; and, (2) "in all such Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by Yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively."

It is those two provisions of the Constitution that would be evaded: 1) the House vote, with the names and votes of the individual members publicly published, and 2) the President's signature. That is James Madison's precise 18th century version of transparency and accountability.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Make sure you check out DownsizeDC.org, and contact your reps to tell them to kill the bill. It's sickening the way these Hypocrats are trying to get around The Constitution.

    From DownsizeDC:

Can the House pass the Senate healthcare bill without voting on it? If Speaker Pelosi has her way then that may be what happens. It's hard to know whether to laugh or cry, and we keep wondering, can they really get away with it?

For one thing, there's a 1998 Supreme Court ruling that says each chamber of Congress must approve the exact same wording of a bill before that bill can become law.

You wouldn't think Congress would need a court ruling to determine this, but they are politicians, so they need lots of remedial assistance with simple logic.

We really don't think this pig can fly. If the Democrats try to launch it, the courts will sink it. And a differently constituted Congress may also repeal it after the November election. But you never know, so we need to keep pressuring Congress to drop this bill. Please write them another letter. Remember ...

These people work for you. They also have the power of coercion over you. You have the right to tell them what you think, as often as you want, day after day, or even several times a day. Use this right.

Every letter you send gets counted and reported up the chain of command. And some of these letters will be read by the top staff in each Congressional office. Even President Obama reads 10 letters per day. So your letters DO count. They do matter. Keep sending them. Specifically, today ...

    1. If your House Rep is a Democrat, and you haven't called this week to tell him or her to oppose the healthcare bill, please do so today.
    2. If you haven't yet asked a friend to use our system to send Congress a letter, please do so today. You can forward them this message.
    3. Send another letter of your own.

You can borrow from the following sample letter, or copy all of it ...

This letter is mainly for my House Rep, but I'm also copying my Senators to remind them of how angry I am about this issue. Please be aware that I know how Congress has rigged the rules to hide 60% of the cost of the healthcare bill.

When President Clinton tried to pass similar legislation his budget had to show the cost of the mandates he wanted to impose on the American people. This was one of the things that caused that bill to fail. But now ...

You politicians have changed the rules so that the Congressional Budget Office no longer has to include the costs of these mandates in its scores. This is a willful attempt to deceive the American people.

This CBO memo is the smoking gun: https://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/107xx/doc10731/MLR_and_budgetary_treatment.pdf

Michael Cannon, of the Cato Institute, provides a good summary here: http://www.cato-at-liberty.org/2009/12/16/bland-cbo-memo-or-smoking-gun/

Please remember, everything you do is based on coercion. If I do not submit to your dictates eventually some government official will show up at my door and point a gun at me. This healthcare bill is no different. Please stop trying to force me to do things your way. Please stop threatening to point guns at me. Please mind your own business. Please obey the limits imposed on you by the Constitution. You can start by defeating this healthcare bill.

    END LETTER

  15. Bruce, if they Slaughter the bill, anyone who votes for the rule to 'deem it passed' will have violate the US Constitution AND if the President signs his name to it both and all will have violated their oath and will have to step down.

  21. Obummer taps race-baiting rabble-rouser Al Sharpton to be his negro ambassador! Must be because Sharpton is fluent in "negro", LOL

Al Sharpton becomes Obama’s ambassador to black community By Peter Wallsten

WASHINGTON—With his wavy bouffant and medallion necklaces, the Rev. Al Sharpton famously confronted government officials on behalf of black Americans. Now he has found a new role: telling black leaders to quiet their criticisms and give the government a chance.

President Barack Obama has turned to Mr. Sharpton in recent weeks to answer increasingly public criticism in the black community over his economic policy. Some black leaders are charging that the nation’s first African-American president has failed to help black communities hit hard by the downturn, leaving party strategists worried that black Democrats will become dispirited and skip November’s congressional elections.

Mr. Sharpton has emerged as an important part of the White House response. On his national radio program, he is directly rebutting the president’s critics, arguing that Mr. Obama is right to craft policies aimed at lifting all Americans rather than specifically targeting blacks. One recent on-air fight with Tavis Smiley, a prominent talk show host and Obama critic, grew so heated that it has created a small sensation among black leaders.

  22. John, funny you should mention deem and pass. here's an article I'm sure you'll find interesting.

    http://wonkroom.thinkprogress.org/2010/03/17/hoyer-cantor-deem/

    Even Eric Cantor sheepishly agrees

Cantor sheepishly smiled at Hoyer and ultimately agreed. “Yes, Steny is right. The rules of the House allow for this type of deeming provision, it’s called a self-executing provision which means that once the bill, the rule for the next bill passes, the Senate bill is automatically is deemed as having passed,” he said. As Norman Ornstein points out, “that strategy, then decried by the House Democrats who are now using it, and now being called unconstitutional by WSJ editorialists, was defended by House Republicans in court (and upheld). Dreier used it for a $40 billion deficit reduction package so that his fellow GOPers could avoid an embarrassing vote on immigration.”

No matter what's in the bill Republicans wouldn't vote for it any way. There is no sense working with Republicans. No sane person would do it.

I admit, John, it's not the perfect bill, but 30 million more people will be able to afford insurance under the Democratic plan and only 3 million under the Republican "plan."

  32. I see Idaho and Virginia have threatened to file suit if Pelositard uses deem and pass. 35 or 36 other states threatening to do the same. Virginia has passed a law stating that the feds cannot force residents of their state to buy health insurance. I tell ya what, a $10,000 kicker is quite an incentive for people to move to Virginia.

Hypocrat plan is going to cost $2.35 trillion over the true 10-year cost. "Benefits" don't kick in for four years. The Hypocrats plan? Hope all the weak ones die off within four years so maybe the plan will only cost $2 trillion. Nice plan, did Grayson put that one together for you?

Plus, see article linked to above, this Hypocrat plan is guaranteed to drive up insurance AND health care costs for everyone. I mean, it would have to. It's expanding Medicaid, and the only way broke-assed states like Michigan will be able to cover that is to raise taxes. Or to get subsidies from the government, which gets its subsidies from ... taxes. Taxes or printing money, which devalues MY money, which is a form of tax. And then there's the increased waits and rationing because, hey, everyone has insurance so why don't I go get that nagging cough checked out! After all, it's only a $20 co-pay! hurray! Oh, no, wait, I pay $10,000 for insurance, PLUS co-pay ... oh, and by the way, here ya go Big insurance, here's 30 million more customers! LOL

I mean, who do you think WROTE this monstrosity?!! You are on some seriously whacky tobaccy if you think it was written by Pelosi and Reid and a couple of other Hypocrats! This thing was written by BIG INSURANCE, BIG PHARMA, TRIAL LAWYERS AND HOSPITALS. With LOTS of addendums by UNIONISTS.

That's who writes the bills you dumbass! Just like when Bush had the credit card companies write the legislation a few years ago making it more difficult to file for bankruptcy! So people have to keep paying and paying and paying as they go deeper into debt.

Do you seriously think anyone wants to pay MORE for their health insurance? Do you seriously think we care so much about our party affiliation that we want to pay more for health care?!? That we don't want reform? Are you that blind? Well I KNOW you are, because you are supporting your party that is, if not breaking the law, definitely bending it in order to give huge amounts of taxpayer money to huge special interests. Time for you to open your F**KING eyes and take a look around at reality Comrade Bruce.

Businesses are all saying that this bill will hurt business. Is that why they are passing this bill,so they can hurt business? Why do they hate small business so much? They give bail outs to the big business while screwing the middle class. If this bill passes not one cowardice Democrat that voted for the bill will live it down. And your party will go down in history as the party that gave us the failing SSI,Medicare and health insurance intitlements. There is no honor in the Democratic/Marxist Party. Shame on the Democrats that are trying to bully their way across Washington.

  37. John, you can kick and scream and call me every name under the sun. The bill is going to pass and 30 million people will have access to health care that didn't before. End of story.

See you at the ballot box in November.

  40. Bruce, the lawsuits are building already. Beside Idaho and Virginia, Landmark Legal has already informed Pelosi that they will challenge this in the federal court system.

Fact, They Are Probablly Better Served By Medicade Than The CRAP You Support For Them! You Are Perfect Example By Holding Poor Down With a CRAPPY Program That In the END Hurts Them! The Shame Is YOU Bruce Cause You Know!

File your stupid, unsubstantiated lawsuits. The AG of Virginia doesn't even know on what grounds he will file suit, but he's determined to file suit anyway.

Just keep piling on the stupid.

  44. BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHA ... this might be avoided Comrade Bruce, if the Hypocrats were willing to just pass it like a normal law. But even they know what a pile of dung this bill is.

  45. Great point John about everyone having access to heath care. That is the talking points of the left. Obama and the Democrats talk about all these people that are dieing because opf no health care and yet they have to give us a bunch of fake people with fake stories to back up their assumtion that people are dieing.
