We Told Ya So. Ya Should Have Read The Bill
sAsociated Press: [...] Economic experts at the Health and Human Services Department concluded in a report issued Thursday that the health care remake will achieve Obama's aim of expanding health insurance — adding 34 million to the coverage rolls.
But the analysis also found that the law falls short of the president's twin goal of controlling runaway costs, raising projected spending by about 1 percent over 10 years. That increase could get bigger, since Medicare cuts in the law may be unrealistic and unsustainable, the report warned.[…]
In particular, concerns about Medicare could become a major political liability in the midterm elections. The report projected that Medicare cuts could drive about 15 percent of hospitals and other institutional providers into the red, "possibly jeopardizing access" to care for seniors.[…]
The report acknowledged that some of the cost-control measures in the bill — Medicare cuts, a tax on high-cost insurance and a commission to seek ongoing Medicare savings — could help reduce the rate of cost increases beyond 2020. But it held out little hope for progress in the first decade.
"During 2010-2019, however, these effects would be outweighed by the increased costs associated with the expansions of health insurance coverage," wrote Richard S. Foster, Medicare's chief actuary. "Also, the longer-term viability of the Medicare ... reductions is doubtful." Foster's office is responsible for long-range costs estimates.[…]
In addition to flagging provider cuts as potentially unsustainable, the report projected that reductions in payments to private Medicare Advantage plans would trigger an exodus from the popular alternative. Enrollment would plummet by about 50 percent. Seniors leaving the private plans would still have health insurance under traditional Medicare, but many might face higher out-of-pocket costs.
In another flashing yellow light, the report warned that a new voluntary long-term care insurance program created under the law faces "a very serious risk" of insolvency. We told you so. Now we have a health care/student loan takeover bill into effect that doesn't control or cut costs like they said it would. This is the kind of stupid crap we get when the Democrats put their heads together and cost us our future. Where are the JOBS stupid??? That goes for Obama and Congress. Since Obama and the Democratic Socialist party took over nothing has worked the way they said it would. And yet the Republicans and Conservatives have called it right every time. Heck Obama is following Bush to the T with Gitmo, the wars, spending+++,partisanship and the way the world views us. But the Democrat's have been having fun borrowing our future away on some of the dumbest things imaginable. I can't tell you if they are doing it all wrong on purpose(Clowerd-Piven) or is Obama and the Democratic Congress that stupid? I'd love to know what you all think about these new facts coming to light about obamacare?
Hey Seniors Nobama Threw You Under The Bus For His Socialized Insurance! He Cares NOT For You Or Your Health Care/Treatment. Nobama Care Takes At Least 500 Billion From Medicare and Puts It Into His Bill. 500 Billion In Cuts Means Less Care and Longer Waits To See Doctor If YOUR Doctor Chooses To Stay In Medicare Program! This Aint A Scare Tactic But The Truth. Wonder What Else Is Written Into This Bill That Will Bite ALL In The Ass Eventually?
ReplyDeleteAny Progressive Out There Know What Student Loans Have To Do With Health Care Or Treatment?

ReplyDeleteI could have told you this back when the Senate passed it. :)
ReplyDeleteI currently pay 5.25% of my income to cover the wife and I. When this kicks in, it will go up to 8.0% and top out after 3 years at 9.3%, with incremental increases of 1% ever 2 years.
On top of that, there is a $6.7B annual fee levied by the Government to the private sector heathcare industry if they sell outside the exchange, which will drive up our cost and force people to make a change to Heathcare Ins companies within the exchange. Killing the private sector business.
That picture is scary.
ReplyDeleteLiberals are rioting. One little law they disagree with and they start tearing up the streets. Liberals are dangerous law-breakers and violent crazies.

Americans distrust giant federal teat in the sky
When it comes to government, Americans have got it right.
Nearly 80 percent say they can't trust government and have little faith massive federal bureaucracy can solve the nation's ills, reports Associated Press, analyzing a Pew poll. (Funny thing, Congress just approved another massive bureaucracy to manage health care).
The 20 percent who trust government must be on weed -- and not know Congress is more about gotcha, divisive politics than statesmanship or leadership.
It's astonishing how state governments have pretty much ceded power to the federal government -- even though the federal side was created by states and designed for a limited role in our individual lives.
Lots of money is shipped from Michigan to Washington in the form of federal taxes. Yet Michigan itself could use the money. And its two senators, Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow, just signed off on health care reform that, despite claims, will cost billions.
Michigan may get its share of that money. Or not. In any case, it's inefficient to cycle money from Michigan to Washington and then back again in the form of federal services, real or imagined. Imagine the benefit if, say, 75 percent of the federal taxes shipped to Washington remained in Michigan to be spent here.
Civics classes don't much teach or explain the U.S. system of government (too Euro-centric for some tastes). So most folks have no clue that the federal government is not intended to be a giant teat in the sky -- providing endless benefits and nourishment.
Yet, those same Americans know something's wrong. And 80 percent of them said as much to pollsters

That is amazing PJ. What is their motive? Greed?
ReplyDeleteThis Regimes Motive Is Simple,Power and Control Period! Michigan Voters Keep Electing Politicans That Have Done What In This Area To Improve Citizens Lives. Unemployment Benifits Do Not Count As a Improvement But As a Example Of Their Ineptitude And Belief In A Ideaology Most Citizens DisAgree With. These Politicans Just Dont Care What We The Citizens Think Because In Their Ivory Towers They Can DO No Wrong!
