Andy I'll put these kids test scores against any public school. Lets compare MEAP scores. 100% is hard to beat. In all fairness the class sizes are small and the teachers and the parents hands aren't tied by the government. The kids are aloud to hug and tell each other they love them. In fact i went to a school play today with my youngest. My oldest son has been sick for a couple of days now and all the kids asked how he was and to tell him they miss him. Government schools aren't like family. But this school is.
most of the rich snobby kids came from St. Luke. St. Peter Macomb and St. Paul were less to do and St. Peter Richmond alittle less than them. New Haven was the least of all, but i don't know if they are still around.
When that area used to be called Mt.Clemens. And Joe you are way off base with the rich snobby part. Just because you don't want to pay a to get your kids the best education possible doesn't mean they are rich. Since you are a Ford UAW worker you are already more wealthy then most in St.Luke.
Joe you are so full of it. I go there so I know. I'm not rich and I don't even know anyone that sends their kids there that is "rich". But then again Joe maybe your UAW income is "rich". I do know a lot of poor people at St.Luke though. Stop on by and look at the cars in the parking lot and then tell me they are rich.
Great find Paul. It looks like the Obama admin is getting cought in the fall of socialism. And the Democratic Party played the American people to gain power over us. It looks like the Democratic Party are the "GREEDY" ones.
Chris, It is a common misconception about kids attending private religious-based schools being from wealthy families. Actually it is more a liberal theme to promote class warfare I believe.
I attended Catholic school in my youth and there were kids from all levels of income and my family was by no means rich.
I am not familiar with the school of which you speak but when I attended we wore uniforms. There are two reasons for that practice; one being to simply look decent, people tend to act more like human beings when dressed like one and , two; when all the kids are dressed the same separated by gender of course then there can be NO distinction as to wealth as there is in public institutions.
Added feature in this nowadays is; who wants to rob someone of something that they themselves do not want.
You hit the nail on the head Christopher. I notice the libs place the "Rich/greedy" and "racist" card on almost everything now. St.Luke has a informal uniform and we love it. I think public schools could use a dress code.
My soul is happy that we agree but must also state beside 'public' schools needing uniforms for the pupils, they also need LESS money so as to focus on the basics.
There are those who follow your blog who will protest to my last statement to be sure.
Now those that do, do not have their eye on the CHILDRENS ball, but that of their own. Do we need computers? YES. Do we need toilet paper? YES.
DO WE NEED MULTI-MILLION PENSIONS? NO, NO , AND NO!
When I say multi-million I am talking about your money for ONE TEACHER.
I also agree with that Christopher. The more poor St.Luke school get's the better their scores get. And we all have seen how money has dropped the scores for government run schools. And I think sports need to take a back seat in funding. We need to make major cut's in education as it is 60% of our budget and we must cut our budget. I think the best way to cut the educational budget is to privatize most governement run schools.
