What Is Fascism?

From Hotair:    Wiktionary defines the word fascism as follows:

A political regime, usually totalitarian…
…ideologically based on centralized government…
…government control of business…
repression of criticism or opposition
…a leader cult…
…and exalting the state and/or religion above individual rights.

  1. Sorry, Chris. Not even close.

fascism: a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

  2. Sounds right to me, Chris.

  3. Bruce it's right out of Wiktionary. Look it up. The pictures were added by Hotair from left wing web sites. Trestin knows the truth and so do most Americans. Isn't it cool the way everything you on the left say turns out to be a lie? And everything we on the right said would happen with all these progressive bills Obama and Congress passed is true? It sucks to be a liberal Democrat socialist now doesn't it?

  4. I hate to sound like I'm agreeing with Bruce Fealk, but such comparisons, no matter how apt, are inflammatory. And Bruce is correct in a narrow sense, so we end up getting tangled up in definitions and semantics.

Communism, Socialism, Fascism, Maoism, Naziism and progressivism all have certain things in common:

State control or outright ownership of industry, individualism subsumed to the collective, state confiscation or manipulation of individual private property for the good of the collective, central planning instead of allowing individuals to order their own lives...

I could go on and on. It's all statism that values central planning over the rights of the individual. Hitler, Mao and Stalin took it to murderous extremes.

A government cannot control the economy without controlling society, and it can't control society without violating the fundamental rights of the citizens.

If the citizens go along, fine. They've voluntarily surrendered their rights to the state.

What if they don't want to go along? That is when it turns dark...

  5. A ISM Is A ISM And Other Than Capitolism Which One Works The Best For The Citizens.

We Have OUR Poor But Put Them Up Against The Third World And The Other ISMs Give Poor A WHOLE New Meaning!

We Do Have Examples Here Of Liberalism. Want A Look At OUR Future Under It Look At Any Large City And That Should Scare The Heck Out Of ALL Of US! The Citiuzens Living In The Cities Under Liberalism Can Only HOPE To Get Out And Citizens Are The Only Ones(Not Politans) Who Can CHANGE The Inner Cities Plight!

  6. Chris, your posrting something from the "NOTHING BUT HOT AIR" website so take it with a bucket of salt.

Nothing like true fascism has taken place in America and most likely won't. The left was wrong to call Bush a fascist and the right is wrong to do the same to Obama. Anyone can take things and out of context place them into a fascist rant and magically create the seeming image of fascism.

Why you so want to be the radical that you excoriate the left for being during the Bush years is beyond me? Even when you post videos of your group you spend the rest of the thread attaxcking the left and Obama instead of discussing yours.

  7. Wiki: A political regime, usually totalitarian
Brucie:a political philosophy, movement, or regime

Wiki:exalting the state and/or religion above individual rights
Brucie:that exalts nation(state) and often race above the individual[rights]
(it exalts both religion AND race)

Wiki: ideologically based on centralized government, government control of business
Brucie:stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation,

    Wiki:repression of criticism or opposition
    Brucie:forcible suppression of opposition

You're both pretty much saying the same thing. So on that note, Bruce, Chris (Wiki) is not wrong.

  8. Joe What ISM Or ISMS Do You Prefer And How Has Free Market And Private Sector Hurt You?

How Will Any Of The Other ISMs Make You Better Off?

Liberalism Has Helped Inner City Blacks Escape Their Plight How? Education? War On Poverty? Whats Your Opinion?

  9. Wiktionary gave the definition and the left suplied the pictures and your mind does the rest. It's funny how that works. The right never ever put Bush in a masianic light like the left did with Obama. All the left had with Bush was "The war for oil" and Haliburton. Maybe I should call it Obamunism to be perfectly clear.

  10. Auto Dealerships Closed By Regime Needlessly OOPS Bye Jobs.

Socialized Insurance Oops According To Regime Its A "TAX" And Not Under Commerce Clause Of Constitution. Could Of Swore Nobama Said Its Not A Tax On One Of Those State Run Media Thingys Awhile Back. When He Talks Out Of Both Sides Of His Mouth Its Hard To Keep Up With Nobama.

Hey Joe What ISM Is This Or Can We Use Multiple Choice?

What ISM Will This Regime Use To Create Jobs?

The Only One They Have Not Tried Is The One That Works "Capitolism" Wonder Why?

Please keep it clean and nice. Thank you for taking the time to post you thought. It means a lot to me that you do this.
