The Stimulus Bill Wasn't About Jobs

The Stimulus Bill was sold to us as a jobs bill. But with only 1/3 of the money spent how could it be about jobs? The Stimulus bill is just a slush fund for the Democratic Party. They are using this bill as a their own little piggy bank. As if we need any more proof that this bill was not designed to  do what they said it would. Then why do they feel we need another jobs bill when the first bill isn't even half way spent yet? Is that the 'change' the American people voted for? Can you seriously say that the bill has done what it was supposed to do? Or what it was sold to us as? Joe 'the buffoon' Biden is coming to the Detroit area today to talk about the jobs this admin. has saved or created. The last time they told us about the jobs they have 'saved or created' almost half of the jobs were not real. But the left will buy the Democrats 'saved or created' theory of jobs creation and economic growth hook, line and sinker. Just like they bought 'global warming' and 'alien seeding earth' theories. I'm starting to believe Darwins theory of evelution. They more I listen to these progressives. The more I think they are the relatives of monkies.

  1. God, Chris, they put in tax cuts to try and get Republican votes. How many Republicans voted for the bill NONE! Nada. Zero.

It should have had more of that money go for infrastructure, but stupidly the Democrats believed the Republicans would vote for it if it had more tax cuts.

The fact is that the job losses have slowed dramatically and the unemployment rate ticked down slightly and most local government officials will tell you it has made a huge difference.

You can try to peddle your story that it hasn't but the facts are NOT on your side.

    WE VOTED FOR CHANGE

Get It Done Now-Get It Done Right

We voted for change in 2008. For more than a year we’ve mobilized to reform health care, win worker’s rights, reform immigration, create good jobs, rein in Wall Street and reform energy. We’re fed up. We want the change we voted for and we want it now!

  5. So will reporters be aloud at that meeting Bruce? That sounds like a lot of fun. I wish I could make it. I'm sure that someone from here will go. Let us know how your socialist meeting turns out. If over 10,000 people got that email and now on this and other blogs you can bet the house will be full if you are on the right side of the issues. Make sure you have enough seating for everyone. It would be nice if Jay Ney is there with her NBPP friends. Someone should take pictures of all the radicals just in case there is a domestic terrorist attack.LOL

  6. AL thank you for pointing out that the far left extrimist are the fringe at only 6%. But they keep selling their stupid new statistics of 'created or saved jobs'. You have to ask yourself what is wrong with that 6%? Why don't they get it? I know they think they are the only ones that get it. But comeon this isn't rocket science. It's common sense and 94% of Americans get it. Why doesn't Obama and the fringe far left? Are they dumb or just have an alternet agenda?

  7. The Stimulus bill the Democratic Party passed is a huge success. It's just 94% of you people are too dumb to understand it. That's all.

  8. How Will Republican Recovery Act Hypocrites Mark Tomorrow’s Anniversary?

Posted by Brad Woodhouse on February 16, 2010 at 02:18 PM

As we look forward to the first anniversary of the signing of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) – which economist largely credit with stabilizing an economy that was at this point last year hemorrhaging hundreds of thousands of jobs – we wonder: how will Republican Recovery Act Hypocrites mark the occasion?

The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Times have both pointed out in the last week that the very same Republicans who indignantly raised their fist in opposition to the Recovery Act have, with the other hand, brazenly accepted funding for projects in their home states and districts. Many have even gone so far as to attend ribbon cutting ceremonies for the same Recovery Act projects that they routinely dismissed as wasteful. We've identified 93 of them - and counting. These people have in one breath decried the Recovery Act as ineffective and in the next breath championed the funding as essential to job creation. Incredible.

MYTHS YOU’LL HEAR FROM THE GOP ON THE RECOVERY ACT

YOU MAY HEAR: THE RECOVERY ACT HASN’T CREATED ANY JOBS

REALITY: THE CBO HAS CONFIRMED THAT THE RECOVERY ACT HAS FUNDED MILLIONS OF JOBS

CBO: 800,000 – 2.4 Million Jobs Saved or Created From Stimulus Through Fourth Quarter. “The Congressional Budget Office attributes between 800,000 to 2.4 million jobs and 1.2 to 3.1 percentage points of economic growth to stimulus.” [CNNMoney.com, 1/13/10]

CEA: The Stimulus Package Saved Or Created Up To 2 Million Jobs. “The $787 billion economic stimulus package has created or saved between 1.7 million and 2 million jobs, but its impact on the economy ebbed slightly in the final quarter of 2009 compared with prior months, the White House said Tuesday night. Releasing the administration's second quarterly report to Congress on the stimulus's impact, Christina Romer, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, said a third of the tax cuts and spending in the package is out the door. Her office estimates that the stimulus added between 1.5 and 3 percentage points to the growth in gross domestic product in the final quarter of 2009. That estimate, which is in line with other analyses, is lower than her office's estimate of stimulus-related impact in the third quarter, between 3 and 4 percentage points.” [Council of Economic Advisors, 1/13/10; Washington Post, 1/13/10]

Obama Defeats FDR (in Spending Other People’s Money) By Terence P. Jeffrey, February 17, 2010

    http://cnsnews.com/commentary/article/61454

After he signed a law last week authorizing the U.S. Treasury to borrow an additional $1.9 trillion, President Barack Obama delivered a characteristically sanctimonious speech. It was about his deep commitment to frugality.

“After a decade of profligacy, the American people are tired of politicians who talk the talk but don’t walk the walk when it comes to fiscal responsibility,” he said. “It’s easy to get up in front of the cameras and rant against exploding deficits. What’s hard is actually getting deficits under control. But that’s what we must do. Like families across the country, we have to take responsibility for every dollar we spend.”

To put Obama’s Olympian hypocrisy in perspective, one need only examine the federal budget tables posted on the White House website by Obama’s own Office of Management and Budget.

They reveal these startling facts: When calculated by the average annual percentage of the Gross Domestic Product that he will spend during his presidency, Obama is on track to become the biggest-spending president since 1930, the earliest year reported on the OMB’s historical chart of spending as a percentage of GDP. When calculated by the average annual percentage of GDP he will borrow during his presidency, Obama is on track to become the greatest debter president since Franklin Roosevelt. ... 13. What's the worst that would happen if the government did shut down?

For the first 150 years of this country's existence, I would have to say it would not have much of an effect. Remember hearing stories about how legislators considered their senate seats a part-time job?

Now the federal government has so intruded into every facet of our lives that most, like FAILk, can not conceive of them shutting down!

I myself prefer a government that cost us each about $25/year in today's money, versus one that costs us each $15,000/year. I guess we know which way FAILk prefers it.

  14. Our Vice President Joe Said Today that The First Part of the STIMULUS Was Not to Get JOBS Moving BUT the Second Half of the STIMULUS will Address JOBS! Question Where Did the First Part of STIMULUS Go? Thought Purpose of STIMULUS Was to CREATE JOBS! Everyday Something NEW. NOBAMA Spends MORE Than ALL Presidents Before Him and then Calls For FISCAL REFORM! Has Not He Proposed a NEW STIMULUS to CREATE JOBS! Must Be BEFORE He BECOMES Fiscal Responsible! Man Says One Thing and Does Another! Administration is Either Tanking Economy on Purpose or Really INCOMPETENT! Either Way Citizens LOSE.
