DescriptionThe US Congress is poised to "deem and pass" one of, if not the most damaging bills in US history.
They are doing this despite the fact that an overwhelming majority of Americans are against it.
WASHINGTON IS NOT LISTENING TO US

It's time to put pressure on our elected officials in Michigan!

If there is no way to kill this bill, then Michigan needs to exert it's 10th Amendment Sovereignty and NULLIFY this bill!

A number of states, like Idaho, are passing provisions that would either prohibit it from becoming a law in their state, or would require the state to file a suit.

Michigan has such a provision. House Joint Resolution, HJR YY introduced by Rep. Opsommer, that is in the Judiciary Committee.

This Joint Resolution would amend Michigan’s Constitution to create a Federalism Committee charged with monitoring and reviewing federal laws and mandates to determine if they violate the Michigan Constitution or if they violate such areas as the 9th and 10th Amendments of the US Constitution.

Federalism Commission determines a violation exists, the law will provide for an expedited process for the commission to then push appropriate legislation to the floor to nullify.

    BRING SIGNS, STATE FLAG!

  2. U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell made the following remarks on the Senate floor Friday regarding health care reform:

“Well, it’s come down to a few wavering votes.

“That’s what this year-long debate has come to: a handful of Democrats had been holding out to see the final bill.

    “Now we have it.

“And anyone who was waiting to see what the final bill meant for government spending should vote no, because this bill spends even more.

“Anyone waiting to see what the final bill meant for Medicare should vote no, because the Medicare cuts in this bill are even deeper than the Senate bill that Speaker Pelosi said Democrats didn’t want to vote on.

“Anyone waiting to see what the final bill meant for taxes should vote no, because the tax increases in this bill are even higher than the Senate bill.

“Anyone waiting to see what the final bill did to the cost curve should vote against this bill, because this bill is likely to bend the cost curve up even further than the Senate bill, not down.

“If you were waiting for a bill without the CLASS Act in it — a provision that even top Democrats describe as a Ponzi scheme, then you’ll vote against this bill, because it’s still in there.

“If you were waiting to see if they’d cut out the sweetheart deals that have outraged the nation and soured the public on the entire legislative process, then you have to vote against this bill, because there are even more of them in there now.

“If you were waiting for a bill that costs less, then you’ll vote against this bill, because it costs even more than the last one.

"And if you were waiting for a bill that wouldn’t compel taxpayers to cover the cost of abortions, then you’ll vote against this bill because this is, the National Right to Life Committee says, the most abortion-expansive piece of legislation ever to reach the floor of the House of Representatives.

“Americans are outraged at what’s going on here: a bill that aims to shift a major segment of our economy into the hands of the government, and which accomplishes that goal by imposing crushing burdens on already-struggling seniors, middle class families, and small businesses, is being rammed through Congress against the clear will of the public.

“No amount of spin will change the fact that Medicare will be deeply cut, insurance premiums and taxes will go up, the federal bureaucracy will grow, and as demand increases, the quality of care in this country will get worse and worse.

“Taking a bill that House Democrats are too embarrassed to vote on, adding more than $50 billion in new taxes and slashing $60 billion more from our seniors’ Medicare and keeping sweetheart deals may make some Washington Democrats ‘giddy,’ but it’s not reform.

“This bill isn’t an excuse to vote in favor of the Democrat plan for health care. It’s a reason to vote against it.

“Anyone who votes for this bill is clearly less concerned about responding to their constituents than responding to the pressure tactics of Democrat leaders in Congress.

“Some may have concluded that there’s more merit in following the cajoling voices in Washington than the clear voices of their constituents back home, more merit in choosing to side with Democrat leaders in their quest to ram this bill through over the wishes of the American people.

“Some may argue that the details we’ve seen since yesterday are reason to support it. But if anything is clear in this debate, it’s that yesterday’s CBO score is conclusive proof that this health care bill is unsalvageable.

“This is something the American people realized a long time ago, and now they’re counting on the final holdouts to vote on their behalf this weekend. Now that they’ve seen the final bill, they can’t understand why anyone would do otherwise.”

  3. Just to remind you Comrade Bruce, Obummer's numbers continue to tank, especially when he is focusing like a laser on the government takeover of health care rather than jobs, like he promised:

    Daily Presidential Tracking Poll
    Saturday, March 20, 2010

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows that 23% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-four percent (44%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -21. That matches the lowest Approval Index rating yet recorded for this President.

Each time the President leads a big push for his health care plan, his job approval ratings suffer. While some portions of the plan are popular, others are not. Most voters oppose the proposed Medicare savings and the taxes involved. As a result, most voters continue to oppose the legislation. Just 20% of voters believe that most Members of Congress will understand the proposed health care bill before they vote on it. From a political perspective, 50% are less likely to vote for a Member of Congress who supports the health care reform plan proposed by the President and Congressional Democrats.

  4. And 37 states are working on legislation or considering Constitutional challenges on this chicanery bill. Don't plan on this p.o.s. being enacted any time soon. Of course you weren't expecting it any way, since even the Hypocrats admit nothing really gets enacted for 4-5 years anyway. Must be nice, I sure wish I could budget like these liars do. Just collect paychecks for 5 years and then start paying my bills as if I had never stopped. But then again, I'm glad I don't operate like that because I would be f**king over my kids and grandkids. Hypocrats don't care about that. I'm going to laugh my ass off when you have to start paying for health insurance for your daughter, and there are no cost-controls. LMAO, good luck blaming Bush for that. Going to make the "donut hole" look like the eye of a needle.

  6. John, cherry picking polls again?

    Gallup has it even.
NBC/Wall st journal has it 46 for 43 against
Pew Research has Obama up at 53 percent

Overall RCP ave. has it 47 to 47 a tie.

  7. Joe, no cherry-picking here. I always present Rasmussen. Gallup has been shown to consistently lag Rasmussen, and (Rasmussen) was one of, if not THE, most accurate in the last few elections. So, sorry Joe, I'm not cherry-picking I consistently use Rasmussen. People like Comrade Bruce and ostensibly you, are the cherry-pickers; they dig until they find a (usually partisan) poll that they like and then post it.

As for Gallup, they had the President upside-down in approval, if that is what you are talking about. I believe it was 47% disapprove and 46% approve. I'm not sure what % you are referring to though, you didn't say exactly what numbers you are talking about.

Please keep it clean and nice. Thank you for taking the time to post you thought. It means a lot to me that you do this.
