  2. What are you talking about Joe? Is this not what it is to be an American? I know it makes you socialist progressives look bad but it is a big part of what this health care bill and the stimulus bill pushed us away from the America we are trying to hold on too. And you are trying to give away.

  4. This pretty much refers to Obama, Joe.
    You know, your Oligarchiest.

Chris, very informative video. Shows people what we all are up against.

  5. Feel free to put it on your blogs if you like. People need to know their history. Or just email it to your friends.I know Joe and Bruce will be sending it to their friends.

  6. As usual, JoeC offers no rebuttal, just more of his childish, infantile comments.

The video is well done, informative and portrays the various political systems accurately. Maybe JoeC would be so kind to explain the "talking points".

  7. Chris, great clip! Education is the driving force of our movement against government takeovers and expansion. Once the American people found out about the lies, backroom deals, corruption, payoffs, and inside pressure applied by the president and his "posse", they (the American people) made the right decision on health care. Mr. President, give the American people all the information (remember transparency?), and we will make the right decision for all citizens.

  8. paul, like whatever!!!

atcually i just shortened the shit down for you guys. But here, just to please you.

That is one of the worst semantical waste of time arguments the conservative people have offered. It does nothing to change what really happens and only serves to show how twisted and caught up in meaningless talking points the republican party and the conservative movement are. Further more the right would semantically increase the differences between a republic and a representative democracy establishing by using any number of catch phrase philosophy terms ignoring the reality of Civil rights and laws.

or i could just say, "gotta bust out the useless Talking Points?" and still be correct.

  9. Joe you still didn't give a rebuttal of what is wrong with the video. You give your opinion of why you don't like it but it is 100% true. Maybe you are so into the Democrats lies that truth bothers you? It's a great history video and it tells the truth and the best you have is your "talking points". How lame.

  10. Here's the shortened version of JoeC's response, "blah, blah, blah". My original contention stands.

  11. joec no rebuttal just talking points, you broke out your talking points BUT you were incorrect.

  12. you guys are on crack...The whole RNC "Constitutional Republic" thing is a talking point of the most inane sort.

It is nothing more than attempt to color a philosophical discussion with the simplest and lowest common denominator catch phrases that don't do justice to our system and the deeper meanings and history of it. The reality is that we have what is called a reprsnetative democracy with the means as a republic. the fact that a constitutional republic establishes the sovereignty of the nation as the body of people vs. the Monarchy does not change its representational democracy form.

Its fine if you want your political science and beliefs boiled down to soundbites and youtube videos, but don't think that your getting any more than the email talking points.

  13. What did the video get wrong blah blah Joe?

  14. Chris, I can answer the question you posed to JoeC. "They didn't get anything wrong!" The video is an excellent portrayal of the various political systems and that was the entire intent of producing it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Prehaps the content is just too difficult to understand for deep thinkers, such as Joe.

  15. lol...Paul. lets start with republic as its own form of government. Its a form of democracy not independant of it.

  16. Wow, look at Joey. He took a 10 minute video, applied reason, tore it apart, deconstructed its elements and came up with, "lets start with republic as its own form of government. Its a form of democracy not independant of it."

Unfortunately, he's wrong! As the video so aptly points out, there are very clear and important differences between the two forms of government. Interesting, as the video points out, the word "Democracy" never appears in the DOI or the Constitution. I sure it's just a coincidence.

Stop while your ahead, cause you got nothing!

  17. Paul, your the one who is wrong in this case. But go along with the talking points of the right instead of political science and philosophy.

Back when Madison and Jefferson compared the idea of a republic to democracy they were in fact referring to Direct democracy, not representative democracy. A republic as formed by our founders is and always will be a representative democracy.

You and the video can continue to use this completly by a republic is not what it says.

  18. Read it and learn. A clear and definitive difference. Note the first sentence under the definition of a Republic.

"A Republic, on the other hand, has a very different purpose and an entirely different form, or system, of government."

    http://www.lexrex.com/enlightened/AmericanIdeal/aspects/demrep.html

You can argue all day long that our politicians have bastardized the definition of a republic with their constant violations of the original intent of our Founders. But, the fact remains there are clear distinctions between a Democracy and a Republic.

  19. Does this JoeC chap think that we all get together and vote for our laws, with majority ruling? How quaint. I wish he and I didn't share the same name.

By the looks of that last sentence of his I would wager he's been enjoying his St. Patrick's Day! I'm going to do a keg stand and then maybe I will be able to understand what he's trying to say.
