$20 Billion From BP What A Deal
While the Obama admin is patting themselves on the back for getting the $20 billion of BP's money in an escrow account. BP is patting themselves on the back for getting out of this so cheep. A conservative estimate is that is will cost over $60 billion if they stopped the oil leak now. We are coming up on 60 days and BP has already spent $1.7 billion. Now all that money goes to a political organization to give our money to who they deem as needy. Let's see how poorly and politically they give this money away. Let's see what unions get this and how this will cost we the people. $20 billion is a lot of money and control over that money is a lot of power. And we all know how this admin wastes money like their is no tomorrow. I pray I'm wrong but the odds are if this admin can screw it up they will. What do you think about this?

Obama Rips Oil 'Addicts,' Says We Must Accept 'Costs' of Cap & Trade
The Afghanistan minerals are looking better every day now. Obama basically said that he is going to raise the cost of gas and utilities so that we can blindly go into a green future. A green future that the Democrats and their supporters will make a shitload of money off of. He and the Democrats are willing to make us pay more for everything and change over to a green economy. Even though we don't have the technology for a green future that doesn't matter to the Democrats. And even though nothing the Democrats have done so far have fixed the economy,they are going to add another major tax to all businesses and citizens within this country to get us where they want us. I'm sure most Americans are willing to pay $4,$5 or even $6 a gal for gas to have a green future that our leaders don't have a clue about. But as long as Obama and the Democrats say it's all good let's go for it. What is the worse thing that could happen? I'm sure American industry and manufacturing will be as competitive as ever with these added costs. We will be exporting our goods in vast amounts thanks to this green move. They haven't told us how we will become greener other then not having any money to by fuel. But I'm sure the government will figure it out before we are all living off the land. One thing I didn't notice Obama talking about is how are they going to cap the well? He was so busy telling us he was going to make us go "green",whatever that means, that he forgot to fix the big problem we are having in the Gulf right now. But I feel much safer knowing that Obama put a lawyer in charge of the MMA. I feel like I'm on a building and Obama and the Democrats are telling me to jump and to trust them even though the last person,the stimulus bill and obamacare, went splat. I'm sure the left wing think this is the best idea ever. And that the Democrats are doing the right thing by plunging our economy into the unknown. But I think if we want to get off of oil and transform our economy from an oil and gas energy economy then they better have a viable alternative that is as reliable as oil. And at this point they don't have that. I also don't like the fact that the Democrats are forcing us to do something against our will again. How do you think Americans will act towards $5 a gal gas,higher gas bills, higher food bills,less manufacturing of goods,higher unemployment etc...? Do you think making energy more expencive will help the auto industry sell more cars overseas? Or do you think that Japan,China and whoever will have another edge over us? On April 20th, an explosion ripped through BP's Deepwater Horizon drilling rig, about forty miles off the coast of Louisiana. Eleven workers lost their lives. Seventeen others were injured. And soon, nearly a mile beneath the surface of the ocean, oil began spewing into the water.
Because there has never been a leak of this size at this depth, stopping it has tested the limits of human technology. That is why just after the rig sank, I assembled a team of our nation's best scientists and engineers to tackle this challenge – a team led by Dr. Steven Chu, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist and our nation's Secretary of Energy. As a result of these efforts, we have directed BP to mobilize additional equipment and technology. In the coming days and weeks, these efforts should capture up to 90% of the oil leaking out of the well. This is until the company finishes drilling a relief well later in the summer that is expected to stop the leak completely.
Already, this oil spill is the worst environmental disaster America has ever faced. And unlike an earthquake or a hurricane, it is not a single event that does its damage in a matter of minutes or days. The millions of gallons of oil that have spilled into the Gulf of Mexico are more like an epidemic, one that we will be fighting for months and even years.
But make no mistake: we will fight this spill with everything we've got for as long it takes. We will make BP pay for the damage their company has caused. And we will do whatever's necessary to help the Gulf Coast and its people recover from this tragedy.
Tonight I'd like to lay out for you what our battle plan is going forward: what we're doing to clean up the oil, what we're doing to help our neighbors in the Gulf, and what we're doing to make sure that a catastrophe like this never happens again.
First, the cleanup. From the very beginning of this crisis, the federal government has been in charge of the largest environmental cleanup effort in our nation's history – an effort led by Admiral Thad Allen, who has almost forty years of experience responding to disasters. We now have nearly 30,000 personnel who are working across four states to contain and cleanup the oil. Thousands of ships and other vessels are responding in the Gulf. And I have authorized the deployment of over 17,000 National Guard members along the coast. These servicemen and women are ready to help stop the oil from coming ashore, clean beaches, train response workers, or even help with processing claims – and I urge the governors in the affected states to activate these troops as soon as possible.
Because of our efforts, millions of gallons of oil have already been removed from the water through burning, skimming, and other collection methods. Over five and a half million feet of boom has been laid across the water to block and absorb the approaching oil. We have approved the construction of new barrier islands in Louisiana to try and stop the oil before it reaches the shore, and we are working with Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida to implement creative approaches to their unique coastlines.
As the clean up continues, we will offer whatever additional resources and assistance our coastal states may need. Now, a mobilization of this speed and magnitude will never be perfect, and new challenges will always arise. I saw and heard evidence of that during this trip. So if something isn't working, we want to hear about it. If there are problems in the operation, we will fix them.
But we have to recognize that despite our best efforts, oil has already caused damage to our coastline and its wildlife. And sadly, no matter how effective our response becomes, there will be more oil and more damage before this siege is done. That's why the second thing we're focused on is the recovery and restoration of the Gulf Coast.
You know, for generations, men and women who call this region home have made their living from the water. That living is now in jeopardy. I've talked to shrimpers and fishermen who don't know how they're going to support their families this year. I've seen empty docks and restaurants with fewer customers – even in areas where the beaches are not yet affected. I've talked to owners of shops and hotels who wonder when the tourists will start to come back. The sadness and anger they feel is not just about the money they've lost. It's about a wrenching anxiety that their way of life may be lost.

The federal government is now telling American citizens to stay out of three southern Arizona counties. It is too dangerous because of armed smugglers from Mexico.

You know its one thing to say something slick on television in a ten second soundbite but we need action. And, it’s shameful that we as the most powerful nation on earth can win wars and liberate countries throughout history yet we can’t even secure our own border. And shame on Obama for giving our country away. It sure does seem like Obama and the Democrats are on on the side of Mexico. If I remember correctly the left wing on this blog said Arizona is a safe state. In fact they said the border cities are some of the safest cities in our nation. I don't know where they get their news but their common sense if gone if they think the counties bordering Mexico are safe when the president tells land owners and Americans it's too dangerous to go on their own land. I'm sure the left wing delutionoids will find a way to blame Bush and the Republican party for this as well. Late last week saw the first leaks of the administration's draft regulations for imple menting the ObamaCare law -- and everything is playing out just as the critics warned.
The 3,000-odd pages of legislation left most of the really important (and controversial) policy decisions to the regulations that government agencies were told to issue once the bill passed. Now that those regs are starting to take shape, it's clear that the Obama team is using its new power to exert tight control over the payment and delivery of all formerly "private" health insurance.
The ObamaCare law references the Secretary of Health and Human Services almost 2,200 times and uses the phrase "the secretary shall" more than 725. Each reference requires HHS to set new rules on medical care, giving control to an existing federal office or one of 160 new agencies that the bill created.
HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius (who was once the Kansas state-insurance commissioner) has taken to these tasks with zeal. In some circles, she's now known as the nation's "insurance regulator in chief."
She's starting off by applying new regs to health plans offered by large employers -- even though these costly rules were supposedly only going to apply to plans sold in the state insurance "exchanges" that don't get created until 2014. This twist is spelled out in an 83-page draft of a new regulation that leaked late last week.
Bottom line: Sebelius means to dictate what your insurance plan must look like almost from day one, no matter how you get your coverage.
Indeed, the draft regs envision more than half of all policies having to change within three years -- an unmistakable break with President's Obama's oft-repeated promise, "If people like their insurance, they will be able to keep it."
Yet that may be the least of the broken promises.
Ultimately, these rules force consumers to buy one of just four health policies -- which vary mostly only by trading off higher co-payments for lower premiums, while offering essentially the same actual benefits. In arguing for passage of the law, ObamaCare's defenders claimed the rules were aimed at health plans sold in the "exchanges." Oops: Now Sebelius is applying them to employer plans. Eventually, this would force all but the very wealthiest Americans into a single government-designed insurance scheme.
This is far from the only area where Secretary Sebelius is exploiting the law's fuzzy language to tighten her control over the private insurance market. In recent weeks, she has said that the new law gives her authority to review and even set the rates on health policies sold in private markets, a role previously left to state insurance regulators.
The ObamaCare bills were written to paper over an intellectual divide between White House economists and HHS policy wonks. Some economists wanted genuine competition to take root in the new federally managed insurance "exchanges." The HHS crew favored a one-sized government plan with tight federal regulation over benefits.
The law itself didn't explicitly side with either school -- but it did leave the writing of the implementing regs to those same HHS wonks. Unfortunately, those more moderate White House economists are now leaving the administration, including the rumored departure of widely admired businessman and health-care expert Robert Kocher.
Washington insiders refer to this HHS team as "true believers" -- a group of earnest, left-leaning activists who've long favored a single nationalized health plan. They are massaging the law's vagueness to give themselves the tight federal control over health care that will bring their vision into practice.
Critics warned that the Obama bill meant a federal takeover of health care, with Washington bureaucrats making core decisions about medical care. With ObamaCare taking shape, that's exactly what consumers are getting. Saying "we told you so" is no consolation to those who took the president at his word.

Impeachment wont make anything better as the Democrats have put an even bigger buffoon in as VP and Speaker of the House. Afghanistan Is Obama's War For Lithium
I'm sure we all remember the Democrats mantra about the "war for oil". They kept saying it even though we get almost no oil from Iraq. But in a wild turn we find out that Afghanistan is full of lithium. And I mean full. Lithium is needed for the batteries of all the electric cars the Democrats want to see on the road. Obama knew about this lithium and other metals that Afghanistan has and we need. The Russians knew about it but at that time lithium wasn't as big of a commodity as it is now in our "green economy". This should make sense to all those left wingers out there that went nuts over the Iraqi oil. It also makes sense that Obama is ramping up the war in Afghanistan. Afghanistan needs us to build the infrastructure so that we can come in and take that new green fuel lithium. I'm sure the left wing that went crazy over Bush's "war for oil" will be out in full force over this new war for green fuel. What am I saying? Those Democratic hypocrites wont do anything about the war for lithium until a Republican or Independent is in charge.

We could use this commercial again. It seems the left wing of this country hasn't gotten the message yet. Or maybe they like the little ethnic and religious boxes they put us all into so they can better manage us. It's time we throw away color as an indicator of who we are. When it comes down to it most Americans are a mix just like Barack Obama. What box on the census do Barack Obama check? Black or white? Maybe he check both. Does the "one drop" rule count for the census? What about the 1/8th rule for Native Americans? What if a person was from Dutch South African decent and became a citizen are they African-American? Or do we judge them by the color of their skin like the Negro College Fund or the Black Caucus does? Why is the color of ones skin such a big issue with the left? How does it serve their agenda?
