What Are Your Thoughts On This BP Oil Spill?

My heart goes out to all those effected by this oil spill in the Gulf. I heard one of the top metal enginers in the world say that BP doesn't use the right steel for their platforms. But I'd like to know what your thoughts might be on this subject.

Have You Ever Played "If I Win The Lotto"?

These are hard time in South East Michigan. Heck these are hard time around the world. My wife and I almost never play Lotto. But sometimes when the pot gets huge we buy a ticket. In hard times when things aren't going so well it's cathartic to talk about what you would do if you won that $108,000,000 lottery prize. It's a great way to have your mind take an escape from the reality of your real life. We would buy this and that. We think of how great it would be if we won all that money. We would make the little bit of the world around us as Heaven on Earth as we could make it. And after the dreaming ends and we find out we didn't win we get back to the real grind of life.  This morning when I got my boys up for school and they were sitting eating their breakfast we started talking like we always do. It started out talking about love. I asked my 5 year old who he loved. He went down the list. At the end of that list I asked his if he loves Jesus. He yield our a resounding "YES". This brought us to talking about Heaven and how cool it must be. We talked about what it will be like when we are all in Heaven together. We talked about what Heaven is and what we think it would be like to be in Heaven. We was a great talk that reminded me of winning the Lotto. What a feeling it must be like. It seems in my boys and my minds Heaven is better then winning the Lotto but without all the "stuff". It was a lot of fun escaping for a moment and meditate on Heaven with them. But it reminded me of the great escape God is and the final gift of Heaven. I think the next time I want to spend a buck to dream a little dream of "If we won the lottery" we are going to save that $1 and dream of Heaven and all it's riches. I'm not righting this to convert anyone. I'm sure you've all heard about Jesus and now it's between you and Him. But if you choose to talk about Heaven with your family have fun with it.  What's the worst thing that can happen if you talk to your loved ones about what Heaven is like? You might like it or you might not. But the look in their eyes when they talk about that is great. It's the same look as when they were scared at night I told them to call for Jesus and He will take care of those "monsters". They loved the fact that could call on Him to protect them. They are never afraid of those "monsters" and what's bigger then God for taking care of our fears?

Obama: I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money

Yesterday Obama was giving a speech on Wall Street reform in Quincy, Illinois. During the speech, Obama let us see his Marxist idealogy. It looks like he meant the "spread the wealth" thing. I'm sure the communist wont see anything wrong with taking someones wealth. I never thought we would ever have a President that believed in taking from one group and giving to another. But the Progressives don't care what the government takes as long as they don't take theirs. Well Mr.President why haven't you given freely of you money over the decades? Our president gave less then 1% of his large income to charity over his working life. And when will the media ask him what making "too much" is? How much is "too much"? And does having "too much" give the government the right to takie it away?

Today Congress Votes To Do More Fundamental Change To Our Country

Beck warns of a vote today that will pave the way for Puerto Rico becoming a 51st state. According to Heritage, it will give Puerto Rico 3 options to vote on:
  1. “Independence: Puerto Rico should become fully independent from the United States;”
  2. “Sovereignty in Association with the United States: Puerto Rico and the United States should form a political association between sovereign nations that will not be subject to the Territorial Clause of the United States Constitution;” and,
  3. “Statehood: Puerto Rico should be admitted as a State of the Union.”
This way instead of having a yes or no vote on statehood which would provide a clear majority, this tactic will allow for a plurality of people to perhaps vote for statehood without it being a true majority of the people. This is important because Puerto Rico has rejected statehood 4 times and without this type of tactic it would seem that they would vote again to reject statehood. There’s a provision in the bill that would allow Puerto Ricans who live in the US to vote on this as well, despite the fact that they are no longer residents of Puerto Rico, and I believe they number around 2.5 million.
So if Puerto Rico becomes a state, they must pay taxes (increased revenue for the US) and there’s a whole new voting population right there waiting to be exploited.
And all of it under our noses. This sounds like change we can believe in.

Gov. Brewer On Greta Last Night

I must say that I was quite impressed in her appearance on Greta. She showed absolutely no weakness in supporting the new law despite the overheated uproar from both citizens and states! It’s like Arizona has been in a non-stop pressure cooker every since she signed in that law.
But Gov. Brewer is steadfast and it makes me like her even more. Since she signed this into law her approval rating went up 16 points. He tells Hannity that illegal immigrants don’t bring drugs across the border on foot, they do it in helicopters and cars, etc. And lastly he admitted that he did have a problem arresting people who come across the border just to get a better living even though they are here illegally. In the same line he also suggested that we should ignore the laws that the congress and President have enacted regarding illegal immigration.
Needless to say he set himself up for failure, and Michelle gladly obliges him:

An Open Debate About Immigration Reform And The Left Wing Riots

I think it would be good to take a good look at all aspects of immigration reform. This is where we left off on an old post.  Things are getting out of control in our country and we need to take an open minded look at these issues.     Chris said...

Joe said,"First and foremost i do not see a way to distinguish legal and illegal immigrants from citizens and permanent residents and the other way around." You ask for their ID like they do now. And if they don't have any proof of citizenship then they can deport them. Get it? If the fed did their job Arizona wouldn't have to protect their citizens. Did yopu know that Phenix is the kidnap capitol of the nation? Phenix is the #2 in the world. How would you like to live like that? I'll do an open debate about this on a new post.
