If we look at everything happening in Washington and it doesn't make sense, it's because we're applying the same logic we've always used. Today, we're going to talk about green energy, health care and all of these bills in a new context.
Here's The One Thing: Everything getting pushed through Congress — including this health care bill — is transforming America. And it's all driven by President Obama's thinking on one idea: reparations.
"Oh Glenn, you are crazy! President Obama is against reparations. He said so himself."
Yes, he did say that. What the media conveniently ignores is the reason why he is against them. As I warned before the election, he doesn't think they go far enough: "I fear that reparations would be an excuse for some to say, 'We've paid our debt' and to avoid the much harder work."

Scientists claim the giant atom-smashing Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is being jinxed from the future to save the world.
In a bizarre sci-fi theory, Danish physicist Dr Holger Bech Nielsen and Dr Masao Ninomiya from Japan claim nature is trying to prevent the LHC from finding the elusive Higgs boson. Called the "God particle," the theoretical boson could explain the origins of mass in the universe — if
The scientists say their math proves nature will "ripple backward through time" to stop the LHC before it can create the God particle, like a time traveller who goes back in time to kill his grandfather.
“One could even almost say that we have a model for God,” Dr Nielsen says in an unpublished essay. “He rather hates Higgs particles, and attempts to avoid them.”
"While it is a paradox to go back in time and kill your grandfather, physicists agree there is no paradox if you go back in time and save him from being hit by a bus," Dannis Overbye wrote in the New York Times.
"In the case of the Higgs and the collider, it is as if something is going back in time to keep the universe from being hit by a bus."
“It must be our prediction that all Higgs producing machines shall have bad luck,” Dr Nielsen told the New York Times.
European science agency CERN designed the world's biggest particle accelerator to shoot beams around a freezing 27km concrete
The multi-billion-dollar machine, built over almost 20 years, was set to launch in late 2008 but broke down after it overheated during a test run.
The relaunch was pushed back to late 2009 as more parts had to be replaced, and CERN was recently scandalised when a LHC scientist was found to have approached al-Qaeda for work.
The LHC - which features in sci-fi plots such as Dan Brown's Angels and Demons and the new TV show FlashForward - has been dubbed a "doomsday device" with claims it will open black holes.
Last year, Professor Brian
But Prof Cox, ex-keyboardist for 1990's pop group D:REAM, dismissed the hysteria in rock-star style.
Here is some great info regarding fending off the H1N1 virus.
Dr. Vinay Goyal is an MBBS,DRM,DNB (Intensivist and Thyroid specialist), having clinical experience of over 20 years
The following message given by him, it makes a lot of sense and is important for all to know
The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/throat. In a global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible not coming into contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1 is not so much of a problem as proliferation is.
While you are still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1 infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms and development of secondary infections, some very simple steps, not fully highlighted in most official communications, can be practiced (instead of focusing on how to stock N95 or Tamiflu):
1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official communications).
2. "Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any part of face (unless you want to eat, bathe or slap).
3. *Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you don't trust salt). *H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the throat/nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms. Simple gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling with salt water has the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on an infected one. Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and powerful preventative method.
4. Similar to 3 above, *clean your nostrils at least once every day with warm salt water. *Not everybody may be good at using a Neti pot, but *blowing the nose hard once a day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton swabs dipped in warm salt water is very effective in bringing down viral population.*
5. *Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C. *If you have to supplement with Vitamin C tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc to boost absorption.
6. *Drink as much of warm liquids (tea, coffee, etc) as you can. *Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.
I suggest you pass this on to your entire e-list; you never know who might pay attention to it - and STAY ALIVE because of it -
I though the stimulus was working.
Sean Hannity brings us some video of Joe Biden this week contradicting everything we have heard from the White House so far. According to Joe Biden, the American economy is not in a recession, but a depression.
We’ve got the video. And we owe Hannity a big thanks because you and I both know everyone else would bury this but for Sean and Fox News. No wonder the White House has declared war on them. Thank God we have Fox News telling us what the other networks wont.
A retired Army officer and national defense strategist says it will be exceedingly difficult to get the Russians to go along with tougher sanctions against Iran, thanks to President Obama's giving away of a major bargaining chip.
Lt. Col. Ralph Peters (USA-Ret.), who spent much of his career working in military intelligence, is an expert on Russia. He says it is no secret that the U.S. is facing a challenge in trying to convince Russia that tougher sanctions are needed against Iran. Both Russia and China are veto-wielding members of the United Nations Security Council and have long defended Tehran by watering down resolutions, he laments.
Peters says Barack Obama made a huge mistake by scrapping U.S. plans to deploy interceptor missiles in Poland and a radar in the Czech Republic, without first getting the Russians to agree to impose tougher sanctions on Iran.
He complains that Obama blindsided the east Europeans, who are now furious and terrified at the move -- and the deal, he says, made no sense.
"The one thing Putin wanted was to prevent us from deploying these defensive missiles in Eastern Europe," says Peters. "We could have at least cut a deal and got something out of it -- but our president, for reasons only he can understand, simply gave it away before the negotiations. I have to say President Obama is starting to really alarm me."
Peters is the author of the new novel The War After Armageddon.
How much more will we take before Americans say "NO MORE"? It sure does walk like the Armageddon in the Bible. Did anyone check Obama for 3 numbers that add up to 18?
The ACLU has filed another lawsuit to block Illinois' parental notification law for abortions performed on minors.
The law, passed in 1995, has never been implemented because of numerous lawsuits. Recently, a federal court ordered the law into effect by early November.
Tom Brechja of the Thomas More Society, who has been heavily involved in the litigation, says they are gathering their forces. The attorney argues it is just logical for parents to know about a child's request for an abortion, especially when a child just needing a tonsillectomy requires parental consent.
"The attorney general of Illinois would be the main counsel defending this case," Brechja says, "but frankly we don't trust him -- and we want to get in there and intervene on behalf of parents of minor girls and some of the states' attorneys of various counties in Illinois and fight this. It's ridiculous.”
He believes the court ought to bring a halt to the challenges and let the law go into effect. Brechja adds that 80 percent of Illinois parents -- whether pro-life or pro-abortion -- want the law to be implemented. He believes they just want to communicate with their children on such an important issue.
Brechja also finds it interesting that the American Civil Liberties Union claims to be all for free speech -- except for speech between parents and their children.
Admittedly, my first reaction upon hearing the news of President Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize was – like many – to snicker. While several felt outrage over giving someone who had been in office 11 days at the time of the nomination deadline an award of this caliber, I wasn't indignant or even surprised by it.
Keep in mind this award has become cheapened to a mere political endorsement in recent years. It has been given to a terrorist (Yasser Arafat), a bumbling weapons inspector who struggled not only to do his job but also to hide his obvious anti-Semitism (Mohammed El Baradei), and to Jimmy Carter! But perhaps most egregiously, the Nobel committee overlooked Irena Sendler, who risked her life repeatedly to single-handedly smuggle Jewish children from the Warsaw ghetto, sparing them from Hitler's human ovens. She saved over 2,500 children, and after being captured and sentenced to death by the Nazis, escaped only by bribing the guards. This miraculous story of risking everything to defend the defenseless didn't seem to impress the committee, as they chose to give the award to Al Gore for his slideshow on the dubious man-made global warming theory. "We are talking of peace...the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a direct war, a direct killing - direct murder by the mother herself. And we read in the Scripture, for God says very clearly: Even if a mother could forget her child - I will not forget you - I have carved you in the palm of my hand. We are carved in the palm of His hand, so close to Him that unborn child has been carved in the hand of God. And that is what strikes me most, the beginning of that sentence, that even if a mother could forget something impossible - but even if she could forget - I will not forget you. And today the greatest means - the greatest destroyer of peace is abortion. President Obama's defenders may point to his opposition to "unjust war" and the new tone he is extending to a world that they perceive as tired of American imperialism. Longing to end conflict and wars – something I believe our president truly desires – is a noble calling, and one worthy of admiration.
Given these sad examples, my initial thoughts were simply to yawn at the reality of a group of left-wing ideologues giving to one of their own an award they have sadly stripped of its meaning.
I've changed my mind.
Not because I just want another opportunity to criticize President Obama. Not because it is merely a chance to hop on my soapbox, though those will undoubtedly be the conclusions some will choose to draw. I've changed my mind because the idea of "peace" should mean something to us. If we don't object to the notion of giving the highest civilian award for fostering peace on earth to a man who has no regard for the intrinsic worth of humanity, we are complicit in removing any fundamental meaning to the word.
President Obama's radical stance on the issue of abortion categorically disqualifies him from any consideration for this award. Not only does he hold to the slave-owners ideology that some humans should be given the "choice" to deprive other humans of their inalienable rights, but he has enacted policies to use tax dollars to fund such an abominable belief. Further, when questioned on the critical issue of when humans are to be protected and given human rights, this supposed "man of peace" takes a pass – not because he doesn't know the answer, but because the answer exposes the grotesque evil behind his position.
But don't take my word for it. While accepting the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize, Mother Teresa powerfully stated:
Many people are very, very concerned with the children in India, with the children in Africa where quite a number die, maybe of malnutrition, of hunger and so on, but millions are dying deliberately by the will of the mother. And this is what is the greatest destroyer of peace today. Because if a mother can kill her own child - what is left for me to kill you and you kill me - there is nothing between."
But peace is about far more than being willing to sit down at a conference table, trying to work out differences with men who want to kill you. It's about how you view humanity itself. It's about doing everything within your power to protect the powerless and defend the defenseless. If President Obama wants to be considered a man of peace, he must begin by reversing policies that facilitate the slaughter of the innocent – not in Afghanistan or Iraq, but in the womb.

Dear Chris:
Thank you for contacting me to share your concerns about the public plan option and health care reform. Your views are important to me, and I appreciate hearing from you on this issue.
I am committed to health care reform that keeps the best of our current system and fixes what is broken. This is an important debate that impacts all of our families. I want you to have the most-up-to-date accurate information on the proposals being considered in the House of Representatives so that you may participate in this national dialogue on the future of our health care system.
We all need to ask how health care reform would impact us and our families. If you get insurance through your employer today, you will continue to do so under the proposals. If you are self-employed or uninsured, you will have the option to purchase insurance through a new Health Insurance Exchange. The Exchange would be a one-stop-shopping location where people could choose to buy a range of private plans or a new public plan. If your income is below a certain level, you will get a voucher that you can apply to any of the private plans or the proposed public plan. If you are on Medicare, that will stay exactly the same, with some improvements.
I also want to be clear about some misconceptions about the proposals. First, the proposals are not, as some have claimed, "socialized medicine" or a "government takeover" of health care. Socialized medicine is a system in which the hospitals are owned by the government and doctors are employees of the government. Under the proposals in Congress, the majority of Americans will continue to receive insurance through private insurers, from private hospitals, and from doctors in private practice. Some people have argued that the proposed public health insurance plan is a government takeover of health care. This claim is simply false. People who do not get insurance through their employer will simply have the choice of signing up for a private insurance plan, or the proposed public health insurance plan. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office estimates that only about 3% of Americans will be covered by the proposed public plan.
Second, let me be absolutely clear that undocumented immigrants will not be covered under the proposals. Here is what the House health care reform bill says: "SEC. 246. NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS. Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States." In other words, the House bill explicitly prohibits undocumented immigrants from receiving any Federal dollars to subsidize health insurance.
Despite some misinformation about Medicare, the reform proposals actually improve and strengthen Medicare - by enhancing drug coverage, eliminating co-payments for preventive services, and ensuring Medicare remains solvent for our seniors, among other benefits. One of the components of the proposals would gradually close the donut hole in the Medicare Part D benefit beginning in 2011. By progressively increasing the initial coverage limit and decreasing the annual out-of-pocket expenses, the donut hole would steadily be eliminated, thereby providing more coverage and lower prescription drug costs for thousands of Americans.
Please continue to be in touch as Congress continues to work on this issue. My office will continue to provide information about the latest proposals.
The Baucus bill is finally out.
It came in at 1,502 pages.
The Clinton health care bill was only 1,342 pages.
The Baucus bill has more pages than the last two Harry Potter books. Keep in mind that the last Harry Potter book was so thick they’re making it into two movies instead of one.
The Bill Number is S. 1796.
If Republicans don’t go along with the Democrats, Harry Reid is threatening to drop copies of the bill on their heads.
