A View Of Progressivism and Liberalism

Karl Marx (1818-1883)
A view on “Progressivism” and Liberalism: The philosophical fathers of progressivism include Francis Bacon, Hegel, Marx, Comte, Rousseau, Condoret, Bentham, Mill and Edward Bellamy… One of the main characteristics of these thinkers’ progressivism was its pseudo spirituality, or relation of humanity.  In this substitute religion, faith in a transcendent moral order is replaced by faith in nature, science, technology, and reason, This faith also involves a sort of humanitarian sentimentalism that attempts to satisfy an inner desire to serve mankind and the world by engaging in reforms meant to uplift the less fortunate. Yet these reforms are not intended to effect inner spiritual reform but rather to change institutions and thus improve society through outer reform. Conservatives argue that progressive humanitarianism is both a diversion and escape from individual moral responsibility.

Progressivism also includes the idea that human perfectibility is possible in history. This doctrine hold that it is unnecessary to wait for the afterlife for human perfection; the fulfillment of human nature can take place in earthly life. Scientific progressives, like Bacon, believe that progress is a predicate of scientific knowledge and technological developments. Social progressives, like Croly, believe that human nature can be transformed through political reform

Progressivism is intimately tied to modern liberalism and the politics of the welfare state, which holds that the transformation of society can only be achieved by a centralized government that has sufficient power to remake society…
…Finally, progressivism has in it a gnostic element. That is, progressives believe that they possess the knowledge needed to transform society and human nature. They are greatly dissatisfied with the world as it is and are impatient with life and the very structure of reality because these fall short of perfection or the the progressive ideal. These gnostic attributes are part of an existential disposition that fails to accept the permanence of evil in earthly life – in theological terms, original sin. By contrast, most conservatives believe that the structure of reality, including human nature, is permanent. Attempts to transform the human condition end up in disaster, as Huxley and Orwell suggest in their dystopias Brave New World (1932) and Nineteen Eighty-Four (1949).

They believe they are the gods in this world and that is why so many liberal/progressives don't believe in the Bible. They believe they control global warming, consumption and income. They do not believe in the God given rights of all Americans. They believe that the Constitution is not a static document but a living one. And they believe that conservatives and progressives can't co-exist within this country. I ask you who was this country designed for? Was it designed for the Progressives or was it designed to protect us from the progressives that played a major role in our forfathers leaving their country of origen? Our Constitution is the enemy of the progressives. We have not had such a rise in the progressive movement since Woodrow Wilson. And we have made it our countries mission to fight it in many lands. Now is the time to pick a side. Progressives are no friends to Blue Dog Democrats,Republicans and Libertarians. Lets start treating them like they have been treating us. When Obama speeks to Congress he greets them as Republicans and Progressives. Why has he been leaving out the Democrats? We surround them and now is the time to show them how many and how strong we are. They have divided this country long enough.  Don't let them fool you. They think of everyone that isn't a progressive as the enemy. This isn't about being liberal. There are many degrees of liberal and conservative. But as you already know progressive is a different animal all together. We all need to put aside our differences and come together as Americans and fight for the America our forfather built. The America that can't stand as a free nation under God if the progessives have their way with her. You will not get more freedom but less.  Please take some time and leave a comment on what you think. I believe in free speech but please keep it clean and productive.

  1. United we stand divided we fall. It is time for the Blue Dog Democrats,Libertarians and Republicans to come together to root out the progressive element in all parties. As I said this isn't about being liberal or conservative in the classic sense.

  2. Chris, this is undoubtedly your most ridiculous post so far.

Wait till America gets a look at the appearance of President Obama at the GOP House retreat. The President really called the Republicans for what they are, LIARS!!!!!

  3. Statement from James O’Keefe by James O'Keefe
The government has now confirmed what has always been clear: no one tried to wiretap or bug Senator Landrieu’s office. Nor did we try to cut or shut down her phone lines. Reports to this effect over the past 48 hours are inaccurate and false. As an investigative journalist, my goal is to expose corruption and lack of concern for citizens by government and other institutions, as I did last year when our investigations revealed the massive corruption and fraud perpetuated by ACORN. For decades, investigative journalists have used a variety of tactics to try to dig out and reveal the truth.I learned from a number of sources that many of Senator Landrieu’s constituents were having trouble getting through to her office to tell her that they didn’t want her taking millions of federal dollars in exchange for her vote on the healthcare bill. When asked about this, Senator Landrieu’s explanation was that, “Our lines have been jammed for weeks.” I decided to investigate why a representative of the people would be out of touch with her constituents for “weeks” because her phones were broken. In investigating this matter, we decided to visit Senator Landrieu’s district office – the people’s office – to ask the staff if their phones were working. On reflection, I could have used a different approach to this investigation, particularly given the sensitivities that people understandably have about security in a federal building. The sole intent of our investigation was to determine whether or not Senator Landrieu was purposely trying to avoid constituents who were calling to register their views to her as their Senator. We video taped the entire visit, the government has those tapes, and I’m eager for them to be released because they refute the false claims being repeated by much of the mainstream media. It has been amazing to witness the journalistic malpractice committed by many of the organizations covering this story. MSNBC falsely claimed that I violated a non-existent “gag order.” The Associated Press incorrectly reported that I “broke in” to an office which is open to the public. The Washington Post has now had to print corrections in two stories on me. And these are just a few examples of inaccurate and false reporting. The public will judge whether reporters who can’t get their facts straight have the credibility to question my integrity as a journalist. The government has now confirmed what has always been clear: No one tried to wiretap or bug Senator Landrieu’s office. 10. I recommend you read about the entire meeting, rather than listen to highly-edited MSM bullshit. Read it and watch Hussein deflect, and flat-out lie. Enjoy reading about all the suggestions and answers that Republicans have offered up which the Dumbocrats have refused to listen to. Realize that the reason politics are so polarized and partisan is because the party that has all the power, the Dumbocrats, felt they could ignore the party that is not in power, and now they realize their plan has backfired because their legislation is so incredibly weak and corrupt. Read this article and think and decide for yourself. The Republicans were very polite and allowed Hussein to answer with his lies.

  11. Kelvin, I saw most of it and agree that they were polite. But there in lies another problem with the RNC - they do not fight fire with fire.

This was their (RNC) retreat, in no way shape or form (president or not) be given the stage alone. These are elected and supposed representatives of a party that again is supposed to be in opposition to their invited guest a liberal fascist, not, repeat NOT A PRESS CONFERENCE! There are PLENTY of "news" organizations for that forum.

In fact it should have been held more like a congressional hearing and the minutes RECORDED word for word of B. Husseins testimony.

In other words "My house, my rules", Sound familiar?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Kelvin, the link I posted here is from C-Span, so there was no MSM "spin." Secondly, it was the Republicans that were trying to game the President and he came prepared, confident and with the facts on his side.

People that watch this will see that the President called out the Republicans, on camera, for their lying bullshit.

I agree, and so do the Republican leaders, that they made a mistake allowing the Q & A session to be on camera. Republicans got their asses kicked.

The RNC not fighting fire with fire. Give me an F'ing break. They lied about the health care bill since the beginning. The President merely had a chance to set the record straight.

  13. Al, O'Keefe has admitted to a felony and I suspect their connections go to some very embarrassing places. That will come out of the trial and investigation.

I think before this is done, O'Keefe and his accomplices will be in jail and so will some other highly placed individuals in the conservative movement, or if not in jail, completely discredited.

    ReplyDelete
  14. "The President merely had a chance to set the record straight'.

Talk about give me a f'ing break! Had? He was given a chance you fascist. It is called an invite and he failed again. When will you wake up? Your type claimed a mandate when there was none. Now your type is back in the minority (rather quickly I might add) yet you keep up this stupid rhetoric? Nobody cares about you or your type and that includes B. Hussein no matter what he says.

He, like all are after re-election and he knows damn well your type endangers that oppertunity.

So I guess in retrospect, Thank you, you are doing a great job afterall

  16. The accusations of wiretapping against Acorn antagonist James O'Keefe--arrested along with three other young men, two of whom are said to have impersonated phone-company employees--have fallen apart. Wednesday night NBC's Pete Williams reported that "a law enforcement official says the four men arrested for attempting to tamper with the phones in the New Orleans office of Sen. Mary Landrieu (D) were not trying to intercept or wiretap the calls":

    >Instead, the official says, the men, led by conservative videomaker James O'Keefe, wanted to see how her local office staff would respond if the phones were inoperative. They were apparently motivated, the official says, by criticism that when Sen. Landrieu became a big player in the health care debate, people in Louisiana were having a hard time getting through on the phones to register their views.

    >That is, the official says, what led the four men to pull this stunt--to see how the local staffers would react if the phones went out. Would the staff just laugh it off, or would they express great concern that local folks couldn't get through?

O'Keefe himself, writing on Andrew Breitbart's new Big Journalism site, denies even this:

    >No one tried to wiretap or bug Senator Landrieu's office. Nor did we try to cut or shut down her phone lines. . . . I learned from a number of sources that many of Senator Landrieu's constituents were having trouble getting through to her office to tell her that they didn't want her taking millions of federal dollars in exchange for her vote on the healthcare bill. When asked about this, Senator Landrieu's explanation was that, "Our lines have been jammed for weeks." I decided to investigate why a representative of the people would be out of touch with her constituents for "weeks" because her phones were broken. In investigating this matter, we decided to visit Senator Landrieu's district office--the people's office--to ask the staff if their phones were working.

    >On reflection, I could have used a different approach to this investigation, particularly given the sensitivities that people understandably have about security in a federal building.

O'Keefe goes on to criticize the media for getting the story wrong, and that criticism in turn has given liberal bloggers a reason to continue deriding him. Yet while there's no doubt that what he did was boneheaded, he has a point about the way it was covered. Yesterday the Washington Post was forced to carry this correction:

    >A Jan. 27 Page One article misstated the nature of the charges recently filed against four men including James O'Keefe, the conservative activist who gained notice last year with undercover videos that he and an associate recorded at regional offices of the group ACORN. The men are accused of plotting to tamper with a telephone in the New Orleans office of Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.), not of plotting to wiretap or bug that office. The error was repeated in the article's headlines and photo caption. The article also incorrectly said that Landrieu in July proposed Stephanie A. Finley as a replacement for William J. Flanagan, acting U.S. attorney for the Western District of Louisiana, who is the father of Robert Flanagan, one of the other men charged. Landrieu proposed that Finley become the U.S. attorney, but William Flanagan was not the acting U.S. attorney at the time. As the article stated, President Obama nominated Finley for the job last week.

In fairness, however, other than that, the story was accurate.

  18. Christopher is right. The RNC didn't fight back but it wasn't set up that way. They let the President have the last word every time. Now the RNC has toi find media that will give them a chance to respond to the Presidents many lies. That will help FOX News but not the RNC. I think people will see that it is the President that is all fight and no real substance. The Democrats haven't so much as let the Republicans in the room let alone help design the bills. We will all be able to say that it is the
RNC that reached out their hand to Obama to help move this country forward. It is the Republicans that are putting country first by hearing what the President has to say. Good for them. They are not putting idealogy before the country. They are willing to meet the Democrats part way. But is is the Democrats that are telling the Republicans to sit down and shut up. If the Republicans did the same we would only end up with a political civil war. At oleast the Republican know they can't puush people to the right and the people know they can't push Republicans to the right. The lefties and the "RINO's" that are too far to the left will get corrected in Nov. The American people are not as dumb as these Progressocrats think. But at some point we will hit critical mass and their will be more people that need govt assistand and will sell their vote to get it. They wont care about a job to buy what they want. Because they will be hungry. We are getting mighty close to those times. The only way to win this is to grab everyone that isn't a Progressive and wake them up to the fact that the Progressives have no love for Republicans,Democrats,Libertarians,Independents, the Constitution,God given rights or America as we know it. They are a small group that seems bigger then they are. We need everyone we can get to change what has been done over the last few decades. Freedom isn't free and neither is Progressivism. One nation under God is the enemy of Progressivism.

  19. James good to have you visit. It's funny that when there is tape after tape of ACORN teaching them how to sell children for sex the Progressives say it's a scam. We aren't hearing anything about that on the news. The left can put New Black Panthers in front of voting boths to scare people away,a bunch of Obamas admin didn't pay taxes and SEIU beat up a black man and it's on video. All charges are dropped. But I bet these charges wont be. Is justice really blind or is she a part of the political machine? The rules don't apply to the progressives. They only apply to us lowly non progressives.

Fox couldn't stand to let the show go on and cut away 20 minutes before it ended.

  28. I like this part:

"There were different views of facts and figures," said Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas. "But I think we had facts on our side and he (Obama) was a little on the defensive."

Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz., said that Obama's talk showed that the president had a "willingness to dismiss reality."

"He's willing to hold himself unconstrained by the truth," Franks said.

    ReplyDelete
  29. This is reminiscent of the SOTU speech, where EVERYONE laughed about him still believing in the Global Warming Religion:

Obama elicited snickers from Republicans in the hotel ballroom when he proclaimed, "I am not an ideologue."

The president acknowledged problems in the crafting of the health care bill, calling it a "messy process."

Republicans got a little testy, too.

Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., the House Republican Conference chairman, told Obama that the president had been too "busy ignoring for 12 months" ideas from Republican lawmakers.

  36. KICK-ASS

But Republicans said they believed they achieved a victory as well, demonstrating that while Democrats might not like some of their policy ideas, they have advanced some proposals — as evidenced by the president’s acknowledgment that he has read them and that some ideas have been incorporated into his initiatives.

“For him to say I have read your proposals and they are substantive proposals, that is a huge thing for Republicans,” Representative Jeff Flake, Republican of Arizona, said.

Just to make the point that they have been more than the “Party of No,” Representative John A. Boehner of Ohio, the House minority leader, as he introduced the president, handed him a booklet called “Better Solutions” compiling a variety of Republican ideas that they said the president had ignored or resisted over the last year.

“We don’t expect you to agree with us on every one of our solutions,” Mr. Boehner said, “but we do hope that you and your administration will consider them.”

  37. So, that must be why Fox cut away 20 minutes before the end of the ass kicking and why Republicans off the record were saying they made a mistake letting the cameras roll for the Q & A session.

  38. Bruce Fealk has confused the Republicans striking a respectful tone with B. Hussein Nobama kicking ass. It's no wonder that he doesn't recognize respect, it's doubtful he gets any since he is a liberal.

It's HIGHLY unlikely that the Republicans would have wanted to keep asking questions if they were getting their "ass kicked". Remember, they wanted to keep talking to him, he is the one that ended it.

The talk went on for 84 minutes. That's 60 + 24. Likely that Fox News had other things to get on with after 60 minutes. MSNBC I'm sure had nothing better to do if they bothered broadcasting it all. I don't know, I don't waste my time watching trash like Chris Matthews and his racism. I leave that to the liberals. ReplyDelete
  44. I did watch the "event" Bruce Fealk. Did you? All I hear is your talking points. Your talking point, which if I'm not mistaken was provided by the Daily Kos?: B. Hussein kicked ass. Where is the proof Bruce Fealk? Where did he smack them down? Where is the hypocrisy? Again, are you talking about the part where he blamed Bush yet again, when the problems were caused by the Democratic Congress?

Once you start talking about the amount of time that a national news organization devotes to an event as proof of an ass-kicking, you have lost your argument Mr. Fealk.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I suppose if the Republicans had shouted down every lie that Hussein told, you would have bitched about them not being respectful. Again, if the Republicans were getting their asses kicked, why did they want to ask that idiot more questions? Makes sense to a liberal I guess, but not to anyone who participates in reality.

  46. Tiffany, he didn't blame Bush, he merely stated the facts, ma'am, just the facts.

The Republicans were not the least bit respectful. One of the Republicans even spouted out You are lying, to the President.

I'd say between the State of the Union and this performance, the Democrats and the President have their mojo back.

You must have been watching a different event, Tiffany. Even Republicans are lamenting the fact that they made a mistake letting the Q & A be filmed.

Speaking of lies, it's all Bush's fault is just the facts? What were the holders of the purse-strings doing? You know, Congress, the ones who set the budget and the spending laws? You know, the Democratic Congress who got us in this mess after the Republican Congress left them with a surplus?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Oh, I guess you are conveniently ignoring the six years that the Republicans had all the power, huh? And the fact that even though there was a Democratic Congress for two years, President Bush had the power of the veto, which Democrats could not override with the numbers they had.

  54. Wow. A scripted TV show to prove your point? I've seen some liberals grasping at straws in my time, but this one takes the cake.

So you concede that I have won this debate? Because I have lots of videos of a real President, B. Hussein, making a total ass of himself. Did you watch the Stephanopolous post above? That's REALITY Mr. Fealk, not a cancelled TV show make-believe. LOL

Seriously, you took the time to look up a cancelled, scripted by a left-wing loony, TV show? A TV show created by a drug abuser who got busted numerous times, including I believe when he got busted for trying to take a gun on an airplane (psycho)?

  55. As you may realize, those who don't learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat its mistakes. Especially when we look at the current financial landscape...

Fact: Unemployment continues to hover at around 10%, but the threat of an increase continues to loom month after month.

Fact: Home foreclosures are soaring to new highs every month

Fact: Commercial foreclosures are ramping up to the same rates as residential -- and many of these companies are listed on the NYSE -- which will cause stocks to tumble

Fact: For too many business profits have not risen... so price to earnings are out-of-whack

Fact: We had 95 bank failures in 2009 -- actually MORE than 2008!

Fact: GDP has not shown consistent growth -- so there's no economic reason for the market to be at these unsustainable levels...

So when history repeats itself, the reckoning will be harsh. Chris this is one of the best posts I've seen. You hit the nail on the head with this post. This blog was one of 6 that we talked about at our conservative political meeting. You need to have some guest writers on it. These are hard times and we are expecting some violent pushback from the liberals. The liberals have been known to be no different then the Islamic terrorist. When that happens we need to be ready because a panic will happen. Gods speed.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Not ignoring anything. Do you want to talk about the Republican Congress that gave President Clinton his surplus? He could have vetoed that, but he was much too intelligent. Unlike Bush, who you agree was none too intelligent and should have vetoed the Democratic Congress' spend-thrift ways? And it's refreshing to see a liberal Democrat like yourself ADMIT that it was the Democrat Congress' policies that put us in this position. Thank you for that Bruce Fealk.

P.S. - That was quite bi-partisan of President Bush now, wasn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  57. So what have we learned here today kids. Bruce Fealk watches The West Wing and prefers a liberal-scripted television show to reality.

President Bush could have vetoed a reclessly-spending Democratic Congress but behaved in a bi-partisan fashion and didn't. To our detriment.

A Democratic Congress can squander a surplus in no time flat.

President Obama wants to continue with the Democratic Congress' destructive spending ways.

We are screwed if we do not get each and ever corrupt Democrat out of office before they can do any more harm.

    President Obama is a liar.

Liberals don't like facts because they interfere with their fantasy of lies.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I don't admit anything, Tiffany. You haven't won anything. Democratic policies did not put us in the position we're in. I have no idea how you can make that claim.

6 years of complete Republican rule put us where we are, including the deficit and the national debt.

Bush kept the Iraq and Afghanistan wars completely off the books. President Obama had the integrity to take the wars out of the supplemental process and include them in the budget. So, Bush's budget was dishonest, just like everything else about him.

It's the President that submits his budget. Congress can edit it a little, and Bush's lack of attention to the fiscal crisis left President Obama a monumental crisis to face as he walked in the door.

You may have seen GDP grew at 5.7% last quarter. Hmmmm. Do you think that could be a sign of better days ahead?

  59. Wow, no wonder Mr. Fealk likes this guy. They must both be on hallucinogenic mushrooms if they believe what the Daily Kos tells them to believe. That's quite interesting that you use a druggie felon as a source Mr. Fealk. Keep on keeping on, or as we say in Texas, you just proved what an idiot you are. Nothing personal mind you.

Drug charges against Sorkin upgraded to felonies
    May 1, 2001

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- The Los Angeles district attorney will seek felony charges in the drug possession case against Hollywood screen writer Aaron Sorkin, creator of the TV series "The West Wing," officials said Monday.

Sorkin will be arraigned Wednesday on a felony count for possession of "illicit mushrooms," a felony count for possession of cocaine base and a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana.

Sorkin was arrested April 15 at a security checkpoint in the Burbank Airport as he prepared to board a flight to Las Vegas. Authorities said a suspicious bag inside Sorkin's carry-on luggage contained hallucinogenic mushrooms, a controlled substance in California.

Sorkin originally was arrested for only the mushrooms, but tests on other substances from the bag determined he also was carrying rock cocaine and marijuana, the Los Angeles district attorney's office said.

Authorities then decided to charge Sorkin with a felony.

  60. Uhhhh... Congress makes the budget. A Republican Congress gave Clinton a surplus. A Democratic Congress squandered it. I would copy and paste the exact part from the Constitution, but I know you don't believe in it.

    ReplyDelete
  61. What does Sorkin's legal problems have to do with anything, Tiffany?

The West Wing won several awards for its writing and acting. It was a quality show that I never missed. You Republicans are always throwing out these guilt by association accusations. Is that really the best you can do?

  62. Chris, You were on target with the left playing the games. Plouffe must be going full-bore. One of your leftie commenters "Jay" wishes to play on my Conservative take and you guessed it,,attacking you again,,now that is funny. So you are afriend of Bruces. You sound a little like his buddy djtyg. But I can see you hate him too. So you want to b@tch slap him? I'm sure he gets that a lot from women. From an ER doctor

Remember I live and work in a border state overrun with illegal's. They make more money having kids than we earn
working full time. Today I had a 25 yr old with 8 kids, that’s right 8, all illegal anchor babies and she had the nicest
nails, cell phone, hand bag , clothing etc. She makes about $1500 monthly for each. Do the math. I used to say
“we are the dumbest nation on earth” now I must say and sadly admit - WE are the dumbest people on earth
(that includes me) for we elected the idiot ideologues who have passed the bills that allow this. Sorry; we need a
revolution. Vote them ALL out in 2010. It is the Progressive(Liberal) laws that have done the greatest damage to our country.

  69. If you ever wondered what side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!

If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn`t buy one.
If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn`t eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for
    everyone.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.

If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for
it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A liberal will delete it because he's "offended". Now I ask you which idealogy sound more free and more American? And which one sounds communist and More Russian? I found this on a local paper. It is the Progressive idealogy in a nutshell.

  71. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to finish last night but we had to run out to a game.

Bruce Fealk, your little felonious Sorkin's past has more to do with his show than his show has to do with reality. I can tell you never missed an episode of The West Wing. It's obvious you think life is a television show. The reality is that Obama is as fake as a television President, but this idiot in reality has access to the trigger. It's not a game, but you idiot liberals think it is.

Once again Mr. Fealk, thank you for admitting that a Democratic Congress has conspired to destroy this country.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Tiffany, it was the Republicans that brought this country to the brink of ruin. Republicans seem to know how to win elections, but when it comes to governing, they suck at it.

    ReplyDelete
  73. The Republicans are such hypocrites. They say they are the party of fiscal responsibility and they voted against the paygo legislation.

How can you get any more hypocritical than that?

    ReplyDelete
  74. HAHAHHAHA That is funny Bruce. It's still the Republicans fault. You should name you blog It's All Their Fault Not Our or Don't Look At Us They Did It. If a CEO of a small company let alone the largest economic country in the world blamed everyone else for what is going wrong within his watch. He/she would be canned and never given a CEO job again. I'm getting sick of the Democrats saying that the Republicans had the biggest deficit until Obama took over. The Republicans are being held to the fire for that but it's hard to do when the Democrats have been running that part of the country for 3 years now. It is harder to blame Bush for the Deficit spending when it is twice as bad under Obama and the same Democrat SUPERMAJORITY. It's hard to believe it when the Democrats call Republicans weak when they can't get a bill passed without bribes and threats with a majority like none seen in decades.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Bruce I will answer your last post on a seperate post.

    ReplyDelete
  76. A good Beckian post!

What the liberals fail to see is that progressivism also has allies in the Republican party.

If Bruce Fealk and other want to cry "Bush started it!" then so be it, I'll agree. But Obama is not ending it, he is building upon the fiscal irresponsibility and crony capitalism of the Bush years.

Honesty involves calling a spade a spade, regardless of party. Bush steered the fiscal car towards the cliff. Obama and the Pelosicrats have mashed the pedal to the floor.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Great post Chris. Silverfiddle you have a good sense of what makes these progressives so out of this world.

    ReplyDelete
  78. If all we did was cut spending, we would have had another Great Depression, ala great Republican Herbert Hoover.

Despite evidence to the contrary, Republicans continue to talk about only one side of the ledger, spending. Putting people back to work is priority #1. The President called out the Republicans on their lack of honesty the other day at their retreat, refuting the claim that the Republicans had a plan to create twice as many jobs at half the cost. Just like their health care plan with no numbers, Republicans just can't do basic math. None of their plans add up.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Once again Bruce Fealk creates his own version of history. Is that how they wrote it on The West Wing Bruce? It seems to be your only source of information. I'm concerned about a person who thinks that a television show is real life. You may want to seek professional help.

Hoover created the Great Depression? That's total nonsense.

What isn't nonsense is that a Republican Congress gifted Bill Clinton with a surplus and a Democratic Congress blew through the money and destroyed the economy so that their "light-skinned negro" could get elected based on "change".

What's interesting is that the only proof you offer that President Hussein called out the Republicans is because HE said that their numbers are wrong. Why do you believe a man who has lied about everything else? You are a real sucker.

    ReplyDelete
  80. If it was job #1 then why is it job #1 this year? Even Obama said he didn't do much more jobs last year. Get your facts right Bruce.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Where did Obama say that Chris? I can't find that "quote" anywhere.

I think they did quite a bit to bring back the economy last year, Chris.

You did see the headline about GDP being up 5.7% in the 4th quarter, right?

That sounds like pretty solid growth to me.

    ReplyDelete
  82. WOW! Tiffany OWNED you FAILk!! ROFLMAO ... you broke out some television show references?!?! LOL ... what a nut you are FAILk!! OMG, that's the dumbest argument I have ever seen, and I've seen some doozies from you FAILk!

Hey FAILk, did you see how your pick for VP was caught in lie after lie?! What a disgusting pig he, and the rest of the Hypocrats, are. They really know how to pick a man of character. All the Hypocrats are dirty jerks, just like Edwards, Dodd, etc. Sure there are a few Republicans who have done some bad stuff, but nowhere near these corruptocrats the Hypocrats!

Hey FAILk, make sure you own that lousy wages stagnating bit too. That's part and parcel! BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHA

    ReplyDelete
  83. Tiffany, its total nonsense that a republican controlled congress gifted Clinton with anything.

In that vein i give you the Bruce Bartlett piece from 2004 illustrating it, in small words so its easy fro conservatives to read.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2004/07/01/opinion/01BART.html?pagewanted=1

here's some other snippets from him on the fiscal lack of responsibility, taken from his 11.20.09 forbes piece.

"Recall the situation in 2003. The Bush administration was already projecting the largest deficit in American history--$475 billion in fiscal year 2004, according to the July 2003 mid-session budget review."

2003, 3 years before Bush would be graced with a Democratic congress. Here's his take on the medicare bill and its effect on the deficit as opposed to the potential health care reform.

"the drug benefit had no dedicated financing, no offsets and no revenue-raisers; 100% of the cost simply added to the federal budget deficit, whereas the health reform measures now being debated will be paid for with a combination of spending cuts and tax increases, adding nothing to the deficit over the next 10 years, according to the Congressional Budget Office."

And finally the coup de graw....

"The national debt belongs to both parties. But at least the Democrats don't go on Fox News day after day proclaiming how fiscally conservative they are, and organize tea parties to rant about deficits, without ever putting forward any plan for reducing them. Nor do they pretend that they have no responsibility whatsoever for projected deficits, at least half of which can be traced directly to Republican policies, according to Office of Management and Budget Director Peter Orszag."
