ReplyDeleteBruce it's right out of Wiktionary. Look it up. The pictures were added by Hotair from left wing web sites. Trestin knows the truth and so do most Americans. Isn't it cool the way everything you on the left say turns out to be a lie? And everything we on the right said would happen with all these progressive bills Obama and Congress passed is true? It sucks to be a liberal Democrat socialist now doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteI hate to sound like I'm agreeing with Bruce Fealk, but such comparisons, no matter how apt, are inflammatory. And Bruce is correct in a narrow sense, so we end up getting tangled up in definitions and semantics.
ReplyDeleteCommunism, Socialism, Fascism, Maoism, Naziism and progressivism all have certain things in common:
State control or outright ownership of industry, individualism subsumed to the collective, state confiscation or manipulation of individual private property for the good of the collective, central planning instead of allowing individuals to order their own lives...
I could go on and on. It's all statism that values central planning over the rights of the individual. Hitler, Mao and Stalin took it to murderous extremes.
A government cannot control the economy without controlling society, and it can't control society without violating the fundamental rights of the citizens.
If the citizens go along, fine. They've voluntarily surrendered their rights to the state.
What if they don't want to go along? That is when it turns dark...

ReplyDeleteNothing like true fascism has taken place in America and most likely won't. The left was wrong to call Bush a fascist and the right is wrong to do the same to Obama. Anyone can take things and out of context place them into a fascist rant and magically create the seeming image of fascism.
Why you so want to be the radical that you excoriate the left for being during the Bush years is beyond me? Even when you post videos of your group you spend the rest of the thread attaxcking the left and Obama instead of discussing yours.
