Is Obama A Christian,Muslim Or Nothing At All?

The White House is trying to curtail the upsurge of Americans,Republican,Democrat and Muslim that think Obama is a Muslim or they just don't know what religion he is. The White House is trying to place the blame everywhere except on themselves. By listening to the MSM it sounds like this really bothers the White House. And It seems the White House is doing everything it can to make Obama seem like a Christian. I could care less what religion he is. I think he is a Black Liberation Theologin if anything at all. But when I see the White House protesting this much over his faith I think,"thou dust protest too much". If Obama isn't a Muslim then all he needs to do is denounce his old belief in Islam. Until he does that people will think he is a Muslim. He even said in the one interview,"my Muslim faith" and then he was corrected. I don't know too many Christians that would make that mistake. But if he says he's a Christian then he's a Christian. The more they protest his "Muslim faith" the more people will think he's a Muslim. It also doesn't help that most Muslims and Muslim leaders think Obama is a Muslim. And it's hard to see anything that he does that would point to him being a Christian.

  1. Chris, it's impossible to prove a negative.

Also, Chris, in America it shouldn't matter even if he were a Muslim. So what?

In America we accept people of all faiths, even Christians. That's what this country was founded on, Chris. Freedom of Religion, the freedom to be a Christian, a Muslim, a Jew or an atheist.

That is one of our founding principles that makes America different from most other countries in the world.

Why are you so anti-American, Chris. You want to change the Constitution to fit your reality. You want to denigrate one of the founding principles of this great nation. Why do you hate America and all it stands for, Chris?

  3. Bruce all he has to say is, "I'm not a Muslim". That's not proving a negative. The problem is he's still a Muslim to the Muslims since he's never said he isn't a Muslim. It's their rule not ours. I said I don't care what religion he is Bruce. Are you seriously this dense or are you playing dumb? Bruce said, "Why are you so anti-American, Chris. You want to change the Constitution to fit your reality. You want to denigrate one of the founding principles of this great nation. Why do you hate America and all it stands for, Chris?" Are you drunk again? Are you still smoking crack? I'm anti-Progressive you dolt and pro-America. You on the other hand seem to likie the disruction of the country we are now seeing thanks to this Progressive government. This is what I put in the post Bruce so you can see what a dope you are and a liar,"I could care less what religion he is. I think he is a Black Liberation Theologin if anything at all." Next time read the post and stop projecting your hate of religions on me.

  4. Chris, he's said that over and over, the same way that he has already proven that he was born in Hawaii. People like you continue to believe he's a Muslim and he was born in Kenya, both of which are demonstrably not true.

If it's not a big deal what religion he is, whys is this a story on your blog? It doesn't matter, right.

He has said he's a Christian over and over again, but people like you choose not to believe him. Even in the video, he talked about John McCain not discussing "my Muslim faith," when he clearly just put the words in the wrong order. He WAS NOT declaring his Muslim faith in that sentence. Yet you and people like you want to try to use that clip as a proclamation of his faith. Are you seriously that stupid? I guess you are.

You obviously do care what religion he is or you wouldn't have put up this post, Chris.

    Bruce, explain this.
Can you explain why an Kenyan official would say this in an open session of their parliament?

You do realize that, back in the 60's and 70's Hawaii issue Certificates of live birth (short forms) if you requested it and became a residence of that state.

But the Muslims hate you liberals more then they hate Christians. Just look what they do with liberals and women in their country. You and Bruce would be stoned in the Middle East. 15. Bruce, when did Obama say he was no longer a Muslim? I know he became a Black Liberation Theology member but that isn't the same as saying you are no longer Muslim. In Islam they can lie about becoming another religion if it's for the better of Islam. All Obama has to do is say he is no longer a Muslim. But I still think he's a Liberation Theology member. But the more they protest it the more it makes you wonder.

  19. Why do they have to hate someone to protest them Joe? The White House insisted on Thursday that President Barack Obama is a Christian who prays daily as it looked to tamp down growing doubts among Americans about the president's religion.

White House spokesman Bill Burton made the remarks hours after a poll showed that nearly one in five people, or 18 percent, said they think Obama is Muslim. That was up from 11 percent who said so in March 2009. The survey also showed that just 34 percent said Obama is Christian, down from 48 percent who said so last year. The largest share of people, 43 percent, said they don't know his religion.

As Obama headed out for a vacation, Burton told reporters aboard Air Force One that most Americans care more about the economy and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and "they are not reading a lot of news about what religion the president is."

Burton added, "The president is obviously a Christian. He prays everyday."
The survey, conducted by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center and its affiliated Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life, is based on interviews conducted before the controversy over whether Muslims should be permitted to construct a mosque near the World Trade Center site. Obama has said he believes Muslims have the right to build an Islamic center there, though he's also said he won't take a position on whether they should actually build it.

In a separate poll by Time magazine/ABT SRBI conducted Monday and Tuesday - after Obama's comments about the mosque - 24 percent said they think he is Muslim, 47 percent said they think he is Christian and 24 percent didn't know or didn't respond.

In addition, 61 percent opposed building the Muslim center near the Trade Center site and 26 percent said they favor it.

The Pew poll found that about three in 10 of Obama's fiercest political rivals, Republicans and conservatives, say he is a Muslim. That is up significantly from last year and far higher than the share of Democrats and liberals who say so. But even among his supporters, the number saying he is a Christian has fallen since 2009, with just 43 percent of blacks and 46 percent of Democrats saying he is Christian.

Among independents, 18 percent say Obama is Muslim - up from 10 percent last year.

Pew analysts attribute the findings to attacks by his opponents and Obama's limited attendance at religious services, particularly in contrast with Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, whose worship was more public.

Andrew Kohut, the Pew Research Center's director, said the confusion partly reflects "the intensification of negative views about Obama among his critics." Alan Cooperman, the Pew Forum's associate director for research, said that with the public hearing little about Obama's religion, "maybe there's more possibility for other people to make suggestions that the president is this or he's really that or he's really a Muslim."

Obama is the Christian son of a Kenyan Muslim father and a Kansas mother. From age 6 to 10, Obama lived in predominantly Muslim Indonesia with his mother and Indonesian stepfather. His full name, Barack Hussein Obama, sounds Muslim to many.

On Wednesday, White House officials did not provide on-the-record comments on the survey but prompted Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell of Houston to call The Associated Press.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Caldwell, who said he has known Obama for years, said the president is a Christian who prays every day. He said he was not sure where the public confusion about the president's religion came from, but he called false media reports about it "a 24-hour noise box committed to presenting the president in a false light."

Six in 10 of those saying Obama is a Muslim said they got the information from the media, with the largest portion - 16 percent - saying it was on television. Eleven percent said they learned it from Obama's behavior and words.

Despite the confusion about Obama's religion, there is noteworthy support for how he uses it to make decisions. Nearly half, or 48 percent, said he relies on his religion the right amount when making policy choices, 21 percent said he uses it too little and 11 percent too much.

Obama is seen as less reliant overall than Bush was on religion. Even so, the 48 percent who say Obama uses it appropriately for decisions is similar to the 53 percent who said the same about Bush in 2004. Just over half in the new poll said Obama mentions his faith and prayer the right amount, about the same as said so about Bush in 2006.

At the same time, the poll provides broad indications that the public feels religion is playing a diminished role in politics today, with fewer people than in 2008 saying the Democratic and Republican parties are friendly toward religion.

With elections for control of Congress just over two months away, the poll contains optimistic news for Republicans. Half of white non-Hispanic Catholics, plus three in 10 unaffiliated with a religion and a third of Jews, support the GOP - all up since 2008.

    The survey also found:

-The Democratic Party is seen as friendly to religion by 26 percent, while 43 percent say the same about the GOP. That's a 9 percentage point drop for Republicans since 2008, and 12 points lower for Democrats.

-Fifty-two percent say churches should stay away from politics, a reversal of the slim majorities that supported churches' political involvement from 1996 to 2006.

The poll, overseen by Princeton Survey Research Associates International, involved landline and cell phone interviews with 3,003 randomly chosen adults. It was conducted July 21-Aug. 5 and has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.

  31. Does Barack Hussein Obama have a Christian name? Maybe his Muslim name makes people think he was born a Muslim. You just love to place blame on everyoine but yourselves. Why is it 1 in 10 Democrats think he's Muslim? Could it be the way he treats Muslims? You did see how he bent over all the Muslim nations right when he got into office? Could it be that HE said we are not a Christian nation and then went to the Middle East and said we were one of the largest Muslim nations? Can you not blame Obama for his part in this? Don't forget about all those Americans that don't have a clue whate religion Obama is? Why do you think most Muslims think Obama is a Muslim? Is that Fox News and talk radio? Give me a break. If Obama went to Church on a Sunday instead of golfing people wouldn't be so confused. You liberals are trying so hard to make it look like the Tea Party and Fox news is a fault but you don't blame the obvious, OBAMA and his actions.

"Obama famously told the New York Time... Now, I'm just reporting what I saw in "the paper of record." He told the New York Times that the call to prayer, the Muslim call to prayer was "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth." (interruption)

I... He told the New York Times that the Muslim call to prayer is "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth." It was in an interview with Nicholas Kristof published in the New York Times. "Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer," this is a quote from Nicholas Kristof, "reciting them with a first-rate [Arabic] accent." Now, the first lines of this call to prayer, the Adhan, when translated (and this is in the New York Times. It's a Nicholas Kristof piece) is: "Allah is supreme, Allah is supreme, Allah is supreme, Allah is supreme. I witness that there is no god but Allah." That's the Muslim call to prayer, and Obama told Nicholas Kristof... He recited it and said that it was "one of the prettiest sounds on earth." - Rush Limbaugh

AP Standards Center issues staff advisory on covering New York City mosque

Associated Press Deputy Managing Editor for Standards and Production Tom Kent sent the following note to the staff about covering the New York City mosque story and then discussed the guidance and reaction in a Facebook entry headlined "Behind the News: Describing the proposed NYC mosque."

    Aug. 19, 2010

    Colleagues,

Here is some guidance on covering the NYC mosque story, with assists from Chad Roedemeier in the NYC bureau and Terry Hunt in Washington:

    1. We should continue to avoid the phrase "ground zero mosque" or "mosque at ground zero" on all platforms. (We’ve very rarely used this wording, except in slugs, though we sometimes see other news sources using the term.) The site of the proposed Islamic center and mosque is not at ground zero, but two blocks away in a busy commercial area. We should continue to say it’s “near” ground zero, or two blocks away.

WE WILL CHANGE OUR SLUG ON THIS STORY LATER TODAY from “BC-Ground Zero Mosque” to “BC-NYC Mosque.”

    ReplyDelete
  34. The developers behind the Islamic center planned for a site near Ground Zero won't rule out accepting financing from the Mideast -- including from Saudi Arabia and Iran -- as they begin searching for $100 million needed to build the project.

The religious organization and the development company behind the center declined to say how much of the $100 million needed to build the facility has already been raised.

"We are in the planning stages," said Oz Sultan, spokesman for the center now called Park51. "We have just started the process of fundraising planning."

Sultan said it would take three to six months to establish a plan on how to raise the needed capital. He said any fundraising campaign would begin domestically, but he would not comment on whether it would extend overseas or to foreign governments.

"We'll look at all available options within the United States to start. We're hoping to fund this predominately from domestic donors. That can be everything from institutions all the way down to personal [contributors,]" said Sultan.

When asked if they would then turn to foreign donors, Sultan replied, "I can't comment on that."
