Jobless Rates Rise, Food Prices Expected To Jump Even Higher And OPEC Is Raising Gas Prices

I thought Obama and the Democrats were supposed to make things better for most Americans? We gave him our check book and he spent us into oblivion. He told us pumping trillions into our economy would fix everything. The Democratic Party had all the control over our government. They did everything they wanted to do. Obama cut off our domestic offshore oil productions. He printed money like there is no tomorrow. He threatened business with everything from obamacare, regulations and tax increases. He grew our government to an unsustainable size. We were told that giving our money to the unions, banks and big business would create jobs. It turns out that it destroyed private sector jobs will creating a debt that would crush the private sector.

On a positive note, 20% of Americans are unemployed or underemployed. That means they have more free time to spend with family and friends. The new normal under Obama is 9% unemployment without any relief in sight.

Today corn futures have ski rocketed. Like oil, corn is used for everything. We use it for gas, feed for livestock and we eat it like no other produce. Maybe it's time to start a garden? Inflation of food and oil is a tax that directly effects the middle and lower class. Do you think the elderly on a limited income prepared for this? Who is pushing grandma over the cliff now? You got it, Obama and the Democratic Party.

To recap, since Obama and the Democratic Party took over our money has gone to banks, big business, big labor unions and big government.  What did you get out of this deal? Higher food prices, higher gas prices, devalued money, fewer manufacturing jobs, unemployment over 9% with a real unemployment of 20%,a debt the Democratic Party wants to grow not shrink, division of our country and a shrinking private sector.

What else have we gotten? 3 wars and unrest all around the world. Our enemies still hate us even though Obama kisses their butts. Our friends have been treated like second class citizens by this admin. Riots and Muslim unrest. Has the world become more or less stable since Obama took office?

If we are too get out of the hole these idiots put us in we need a strong conservative leader. Conservatives and moderates need to get active in politics. We need to get active early in the Republican primaries.

Wheather Our Nations Economic future turns around or not I believe 2012 elections will be Pivotable for Our Nations Future.
Niether Party will bring Our Nation back to its Former Economical Condition,it just depends now on which one is WORSE for OUR Nation.
2012 Citizens will Determine Our Nations Future. Capitolism vs Socialism will be Citizens choice and at this time Im afraid it will to close to call and that alone should worry most but it really doesn"t seem to at this.
When Nation goes belly up Financially and it will WE will make Europes Unrest look mild. To many Depending on a Government that will in TIME Fail under its Own Wieght. Rich Poor Middle Class wont be a Political Divisional Tool anymore cause ALL will be Poor! Just my uninformed opinion!

  2. Legendary investor Jim Rogers, CEO of Rogers Holdings, offered a very glum outlook on the U.S. economy yesterday. According to him, we’re headed for a crisis worse than 2008, the Chinese Yuan will soon be safer than the dollar, and Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke will probably institute another round of money-printing, or QE3.

“The debts that are in this country are skyrocketing,” he told CNBC. “In the last three years the government has spent staggering amounts of money and the Federal Reserve is taking on staggering amounts of debt.

“When the problems arise next time…what are they going to do? They can’t quadruple the debt again. They cannot print that much more money. It’s gonna be worse the next time around.”

He later added, “The U.S. is the largest debtor nation in the history of the world. The debts are going through the roof. Would you keep lending money to somebody who’s spending money and not doing anything about it? No you wouldn’t.”

Because of that, he said the Chinese Yuan will be a safer currency bet than the dollar. And what may even better is gold and silver: he’s hoping the price goes down on both so he can “pick up the phone and buy more.”

He’s also convinced Ben Bernanke, who he calls a “disaster,” will institute another round of quantitative easing, essentially printing money, later this year.

“They’re gonna bring it back because [Bernanke will] be terrified and Washington will be terrified,” he said. “There’s an election coming in November 2012. Washington’s gonna print more money.”

According to him “draconian” cuts will be needed to control U.S. debt.

Rogers comments come as a new poll reveals nearly half of Americans expect another Great Depression in the next 12 months.

  3. The Labor Department says 427,000 people applied for unemployment benefits last week, up 1,000 from the previous week. The figures are seasonally adjusted.

The four-week average, a less volatile measure, dipped to 424,000, its third straight drop. Still, the level is higher than at the beginning of the year.

Applications have been above 400,000 for the past nine weeks. It is one of many signs that the economy has faltered from earlier this year, when hiring was picking up and many economists expected growth to accelerate. Applications typically must dip below 375,000 to signal sustainable job growth. They peaked during the recession at 659,000.

  4. CNN.com
President Barack Obama’s overall approval rating has dropped below 50 percent as a growing number of Americans worry that the U.S. is likely to slip into another Great Depression within the next 12 months, according to a new national poll.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Wednesday also indicate that the economy overall remains issue number one to voters, with other economic issues – unemployment, gas prices and the federal deficit – taking three of the remaining four spots in the top five.

These number can‘t be good for President Obama’s reelection plotters. More importantly they send powerful signals about the authentic fears gripping large numbers of Americans.
The Osama bin Laden bump is now officially gone. We’re back to “It’s the economy, stupid” as the driver of things political. At least for the moment.

So here is how CNN breaks down the “Great Depression” results:

Forty-eight percent say that another Great Depression is likely to occur in the next year – the highest that figure has ever reached. The survey also indicates that just under half live in a household where someone has lost a job or are worried that unemployment may hit them in the near future. The poll was conducted starting Friday, when the Labor Department reported that the nation’s jobless rate edged up to 9.1 percent.

“The poll reminded respondents that during the Depression in the 1930s, roughly one in four workers were unemployed, banks failed, and millions of Americans were homeless or unable to feed their families,” says Holland. “And even with that reminder, nearly half said that another depression was likely in the next 12 months. That’s not just economic pessimism – that’s economic fatalism.”

According to the survey, more than eight in ten Americans say that the economy is in poor shape, a number that has stubbornly remained at that level since March.

Even PBS is acknowledging that the economy is becoming a bigger and bigger problem for President Obama.

Every time we try Progressivism it fails. That inclued this time in America. Only a crazy liberal like Bruce Fealk,JoeC or Anon. can't see the failures of their liberal policies.

Get your head out of your asses. Be prepared for a depression and hope it never happens. Thanks to the democratic party liberal agenda we are losing the middle class.

  5. Today a group of Special Olympians traveled to Madison Wisconsin for a visit to the Capitol. While there, they got to meet Bucky Badger, the University of Wisconsin mascot and the Governor was slated to give a few brief remarks complimenting them on their hard work, dedication and athletic achievements.

As Governor Walker stepped to the podium amidst a scattering of boos, a group of students, poorly costumed as zombies, filed in and stood between the Governor and the Special Olympians he was recognizing. Blocking the view of the Special Olympians, they waved their fists around in solidarity with something or another during the Governor's speech. There was a scattering of catcalls from other protestors.

Video of the sad spectacle is at Anne Althouse's blog. It is a pretty stunning demonstration of a complete lack of decorum and sense of propriety.

Video of some union zombies making fun of some of these special children will be on youtube after we get it back from the police.

I've mentioned once or twice before that, because the unionistas couldn't get the numbers of protestors they needed in Madison using union people alone, Trumka invited any Progressive group to join them as a show of support. I argued that the danger of this to the union cause was that the union message would end up getting drowned out by the cacophony of all these other groups.

This is a clear example of that problem. The concept of a time and a place for everything was obviously absent in their planning; as was the notion of when respect for another person's ceremony is expected. Their callous disregard for the Special Olympians is a sorry sight to behold.

Hopefully it gets a lot of air time on Wisconsin TV.

  6. One union dumbass said that the "retarded kids didn't even know what the protest was or what a zombie is, so what's the harm?"

  7. I don't know about anyone else but Im alright with this. Walker's actions affect many of these people more than me. They have every right to know what is going on in the state; most of them probably already do. Honestly I find the fact tht he was addressing this group offensive. It's like when he goes and visits a school. What a hypocritical liar.

  8. This sounds like something Bruce Fealk and JoeC would have done. We all know how they feel about killing retarded babies in the womb. You liberals are sick. You have no souls or hearts.

  9. -Chris, it is their intention to collapse the economy so that the majority of Americans can become dependent on Government.
It's been in the works now for years. But as I see it, the Dems are done in 2012. They don't even know that the fate of the party is heading for a cliff.
-All's Fair in Love and War.
Do you know who utterly stupid the public unions now look to the American people and bring their protest to the Special Olympics?
    WTF???
It’s sad that they have stooped this low in their protest.
He is the Governor of the state and should have been there addressing the proud Olympians.
The Unions just made themselves look like A$$HOLES!

  10. So now that he released his birth certificate the new theory is what exactly? That he's pushing corn markets higher to destroy the economy?

Chris and the rest of the groupies, corn prices rose on something the President can't control supply and demand. Its fun to through the BS against the wall, but really none of it sticks.

I know its fun to blame Obama for the increase in demand and the supply issues with the flooding and rain, but its not his fault. Three years of tightening demand is beyond the president.

  11. F-85 and Higher Demand for Corn. Did not see that coming.

Economy is Failing cause Politicans are Failing. ECONOMY just caught up to Politicans. Government has SPENT us to a Point of NO Return.

I was under the False impression that after 2010 Election things might change BUT Politicans from both sides are FAILING this Nation. There was a Time long time ago when even Politicans gave a CRAP about Nations well being. That now is PASSE!

Third Party cannot come soon enough and Im afraid that the point of NO return has been reached. I just have bad feeling of this Countries Demise because all wanted Everything and all that was left was NOTHING!

  12. But food prices and gas are in his control. When you print money like they are what would you expect Joe? Open your eyes Joe. I know you are this stupid.

The way the union and liberals have acted with the Special Olympics makes me sick. I just goes to prove what self centered idiots the liberals and many union members are.
