FOURTH CAIN ACCUSER SPEAKS

By Catalina Camia, USA TODAY

Defense attorney Gloria Allred and her client, Sharon Bialek, are holding a news conference. Bialek says GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain sexually harassed her in the 1990s.

2:05 p.m. ET

"I really didn't want to be here today," Bialek says.

"I want you, Mr. Cain, to come clean. Just admit what you did. Admit you were inappropriate to people...and then move forward."

"Mr. Cain, I implore you," she says, "Make this right. "

2:04 p.m. ET

Herman Cain's campaign just e-mailed us a statement.

Just as the country finally begins to refocus on our crippling $15 trillion national debt and the unacceptably high unemployment rate, now activist celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred is bringing forth more false accusations against the character of Republican front-runner Herman Cain.

All allegations of harassment against Mr. Cain are completely false. Mr. Cain has never harassed anyone. Fortunately the American people will not allow Mr. Cain's bold "9-9-9 Plan", clear foreign policy vision and plans for energy independence to be overshadowed by these bogus attacks.

2:02 p.m. ET

Bialek says she told her boyfriend and "a mentor at the time" that Cain had been inappropriate. She said she was "embarrassed" and didn't go into details.

2:01 p.m. ET

Bialek says Cain offered to help her find a job with one of the state restaurant associations.

"He suddenly reached over and put his hand on my leg, under my skirt and reached for my genitals," she said. Bialek says Cain tried to pull her head toward his crotch.

I don't know if any of this is true. It sounds as though he is a lot like Bill Clinton. Liberals don't seem to care about these kind of actions but conservatives do. I know it has changed the way I look at Cain. I can't see how Cain can come back from this without proving these four women liars. My gut feeling is he did it and I wouldn't want to have a man like that in the White House. I also don't like the way he is handling it.

What are your thoughts on this?

  1. I had nooo idea about this. I often don't watch the news or read the paper. Too busy just getting by. But the truth is, too busy wasting time ; )

    I hope you're doing well!

  2. With respect to you, I would disagree with your statement. He should not have to prove the accuser to be liars; THEY should have to prove their statements. "Innocent until proven guilty" is still what we go by in this country. It's very easy to find people who will make accusations. Let's have an investigator check out these women's bank accounts.

  3. “Allred added that Bialek does not plan on filing a lawsuit.” uh oh sounds to me this is nothing but more of a witch hunt with nothing to back it up. I ask people start digging on Allred and this woman something is definitely wrong here…
Im curious where are the police reports to substantiate this. Surely a woman being violated like this would have gone to the police! Allred wouldnt dare come forward trashing Cain without SOLID INDISPUTABLE facts to support this! I mean she wouldnt want to risk her license on just defaming someone for POLITICAL GAIN would she?! Allred needs to be investigated and disbarred she defines Ambulance chaser. I want to know how much this woman is being paid and how much Allred is making off this. More importantly WHERE the money is coming from?!

The left is completely running scared at this point with claim after claim but nothing to back it up. The more this continues the more I am in support of Cain ‘12 vs any other candidate. They are clearly scared of him.

Cmon there must be some Jim Garrisons out there with the guts to investigate Allred and Bialek. There must be one 1 attorney prosecutor out there with some morals who has had it. Step up and do you darn job! http://SavingtheRepublic.com

  4. I like to make jokes about this but in all seriousness does anybody really care about these allegations that happened what? 12 years ago and the accused were payed off." Sure this speaks of his moral character (which I dont condone) but I wish to point out (and I know I will get the commentary backlash) that sexual favors or expectations or what might be considered harrassment is part of the perks of being the man in charge. Have you ever heard "its good to be the king" Throughout history world leaders have had their affairs, their trists their mistresses and their Harems. It goes with the territory. Does it make them a bad leader? I dont think so. But America has its own opinions these days and I hope it is for the best for America. Herman is not the man I would vote for I am against his policies not his interest in woman. I know people still like to bring up Clinton but I also heard how people wish he were running again, the great JFK cheated almost daily, Eisenhower, Roosevelt all cheated I am sure people can add various world leaders to this list.....This is not a defence for Cain its just that I want to get back to what's important the real issues.....

  5. I would normally tend to agree with you Tim. But this isn't being brought to a court of law where "Innocent until proven guilty" exists. In politics that doesn't always matter for Republicans. Clinton had numerous accusations and he still got in. But Republicans are held up to a higher standard. No one but Cain will want to prove it wrong or a lie. He should be able to show he didn't buy that suet and if he did then he's got some "splainen" to do. At this point he hasn't done a very good job of handling this.

Not to mention that when a payoff is given it will look like guilt to most voters.

  6. 3 nameless/faceless accusations. 4th is a 'he said she said' and Allred knows this wouldn't even hold up in a court of law.
The 1st, by even providing the allegation to Politico violated the confidentiality agreement.

All this with no proof and merit.
And by all accounts, Allred even showing up in the picture, smells of a Meg Whitman witch (or warlock in this case) hunt.

  7. It does seem to be that way Mark. But if Cain wants to change the court of popular opinion he needs to get to the bottom of this. Right now everyone is looking at Cains reaction to this accusation and how he deals with it. It will either make or break his chances of being president.

I just heard the fourth accuser say she might take money for a book or something. She has been off of work for years and maybe, just maybe she has a motive other then what she says.

All I know is if it looks like he's guilty when all is done he wont be the Republican nominee. The MSM is having a field day and marking him as a pervert when they didn't do the same to Clinton when he was proved to be a pervert, liar and preditor.

  8. Chris, I agree. He has a new conference at 5:00pm ET today.

The second woman to make accusations is Karen Kraushaar- former journalist and working for the Obama Administration.
And Bialek worked for WGN in Chicago and CBS

    Seeing a pattern here.

  9. Down goes Cain. Now even Republicans are saying he should drop out.

Oh, and this just in, the 99% Occupy movement is twice as popular as the Teabaggers.

  10. It isn't looking good for the Cain accusers.

"99% Occupy movement is twice as popular as the Teabaggers", that is laughable. hahahahahaha. You keep telling yourselves that. As the cold weather comes out and more vi9deos come fourth that show the real Occupy Rage fool it will all fizzle out like a rave at 4 am.

  11. This shows us the fundamental differences between Republicans and Democrats. If a Democrat violates women it's no big deal. They will still make that person president and even call him the best president ever. Republicans look for the truth and if we have a pervert running we bail onn them. We Republicans don't like perverts running for president. We put our candidates up to a higher standard.

  12. Cain campaign isn't over by a long shot.
    No proof, Bruce.

BTW: You post from Think Progress??? (Are you using Saul Alinsky rule #5???)

Thirty-six percent (36%) of the nation’s Likely Voters have a favorable opinion of the Occupy Wall Street protesters while 41% offer an unfavorable opinion.

  13. I would suggest to Jim that they have nothing to prove. There were complaints filed and investigated. As a result of said investigations at least one maybe more received settlements. Now a settlement is not an indication of guilt, but an indication that its likely that there was an issue.

Now you add in the fact that Cain has lied about the settlements and even suggested he didn't know of any accusations against him shows that he is trying to hide something. And we have the strange actions of his campaign manager accusing someone who is not related to one of the accusers as working for Politico and being related. Its getting weird and weird isn't good.

  14. Clinton got elected with much worse on his record. As Chris has pointed out liberals like pervs.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Cain said he will take a lie detector test.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Cain will NEVER take a lie detector test.

    ReplyDelete
  17. If he is not guilty he will.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Chris, he's guilty of paying off an accuser. Whether he did it or not, he already took the low road. His credibility is dampened.

And this isn't about Democrats so lets stay with who this is about. Conservatives claim to have a moral superiority over liberals so its only fair to see them hold Cain to a higher standard than say Clinton. Democrats at that time were not making moral stands, but rather economic.

Its that simple. Any talk about clinton or Hart or anything else is deflection.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Chris, I think you ought to write to his campaign and ask him when he is scheduled to take that lie detector test, then get back to us on that.

    ReplyDelete
  20. He is not guilty of paying off anyone. Just because there was a $45k settlement doesn't mean he was guilty of anything. It's cheeper to pay then fight it. Joe I made it clear that if he did anything wrong I wouldn't back him, so stop lying. We have all seen what happens when you ignore sexual deviance's. we end up with an impeached president that puts the country at great risk just like Republicans said it would. Too bad your side was wrong again. I'm sure the media and his supporters will demand he take the test. Why are you ignoring the fact that a test that is 95 percent accurate has already been done? You liberal Have convicted hIm because it Hurts the Republican Party. You are willing to convict this black man even when there is little to convict him with. Are you two racist?
