How Does Raising Taxes Help The Economy?
Obama is a one note wonder when it comes to fixing everything. All he cares about is raising taxes on the private sector. It's time we start asking how will raising taxes on job creators during a recession fix anything? If we raised tariffs on Chinese imports it would negatively impact Chinese manufacturing and imports. Why would we put a tariff on American producers? Will that help American or foreign manufaturers?

This regime has one objective kill the Private Sector. Regime cannot make its grand plan of Socialism in this Nation work with a Strong Private Sector and Citizens that do NOT depend on Government for its needs. 2012 Election will quite simply be Capitolism vs Socialism and sad to say it is to close to call now and that in itself should make OUR fore fathers roll over in their graves!
ReplyDeleteHis ability to fix everythings is "Some in this country need to pay their fair share" but no one on the left will say what is a fair share.
ReplyDeleteHe wants everyone to have a fair shake in society. Well they can, IF they understand that Government can impede their ability of getting that fair shake of their own accord. But he doesn't want to say that. He wants everyone, especially the poor, to believe he can lead them to prosperity. NO one man can lead all out of poverty in to prosperity, there must be the desire to achieve it of ones own will and determination.
Where are all those liberals defending their position?
ReplyDeleteIn recent testimony to Congress, a noted economist spoke of job creation and noted that most of the investment money for new projections came from Foreign sources and US pension funds. The speaker distinctly dismissed the single person investment theory as largely untrue and that US corps also invest more than that mythical figure.
ReplyDeleteThus personal income tax was not going to harm US investment and even recommended raising taxes on Gains to Reagan levels while giving the other sources of investment better terms.
So you want to make it more expensive to being that money to this country? Do you think adding taxes will bring more money here or drive it out? Couldn't we in fact drive more tax revenue out rather then bring it in? Just look at how Detroit taxed most businesses out of the city and Michigan did the same thing?
ReplyDeleteWow, Chris. The Republicans really blew it this time.
ReplyDeleteRising taxes on 160 million middle class Americans. That seems to violate the core belief of the conservatives pledge to Grover Norquist.
And all this to protect the top 1% of the wealthiest Americans.
This could finally be the end of the Republican party. Good riddance.
Has anyone seen an estimate of how much money per month this 2% pseudo tax cut will cost people when they hit the magic age of Social Security? The benefit is based on how much a person has paid in, so in effect this is a case of Obama robing the future SS recipients.
ReplyDeleteRobbing Peter to save Paul! That is all this pokitical magic trick is. Once again SPENDING without FUNDING.
ReplyDeleteCitizens would be much better off if the Politicans thought of ways to Create Jobs NOT Create Dependency. The two month deal is $160.00 and how does that move economy forward. It pushes Politicans agendas further but not whats important to most Citizens JOBS!
I think qwe should just you know do what my facebook post said. I don't want another visit from the Secret Service so i'm hoping one of you guys take up my cause. Go Ron Paul and the Tea Party.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/20/jules-manson-obama_n_1161044.html?ref=mostpopular
Let's unite all over America and take this country back from..Well you can see how i said it in my post.
We are nothing like the Occupy radicals. The Tea Party is a totally nonviolent group of individuals. I noticed that Jules ran as a Democrat and a fake Tea Partier with no support. Nice try.
ReplyDeleteChris, tell that to the recall circulators here in Wisconsin. Several have been attacked by Tea Partiers. Some have been brought up on felony charges.
ReplyDeleteYou are so full of it Bruce. "several"? Who has been brought up on charges?
ReplyDeleteDon't forget the thousands of OWS protesters that have been arrested for real.
Chris, they've been arrested for basically expressing their first amendment rights, rights I would think even you would defend their expressing.
ReplyDeleteDo you agree with how the protesters have been treated by the police, Chris?
We are becoming a police state, thanks to all you f'ing tea partiers.
You don't really believe in the Constitution. You believe in an America with gun rights, but no right to free speech.
Bruce, occupying is not freedom of speech, nor peaceably assembling. You don't have the right to tread on other peoples right, as OWS does.
ReplyDeleteAnd they are planning an all out assault with A "marked escalation of surprise, playful, precision disruptions, rush-hour flash mobs, bank occupations, 'occupy squads' and edgy theatrics."
http://money.msn.com/investing/watch-out-1-percent-the-kids-will-be-back-marketwatch.aspx
Free Speech is a certainty Shitting on police cars,Rape and Larceny are Not! Where would these acts be covered in the Constitution?
ReplyDeleteBruce you will know when We reach a Police State your Paper Mache Head will be Confiscated!
This article might help enlighten you tea baggers. I doubt it, but hope springs eternal.

We can all hope that fealkhead has moved to Wisconsin. But, alas, he is probably just visiting. Hope the dairy farmers have hidden their cows.
ReplyDeleteJust visiting, but I'll be back with a vengance, soon.
ReplyDeleteI'll be working on bringing the Wisconsin fighting spirit to Michigan.
Raising taxes makes 47% of the people happy - those that are riding in the wagon....... frankly, I'm considering closing my company and climbing my ass in the wagon with them! [if you can't beat 'em, join 'em - right?]
ReplyDeleteand the whiners in Wisconsin would rather suck at the government teat (which equals the union teat up there) than be responsible citizens and work for the common good...... maybe Canada will annex Wisconsin, and then all the socialists will be happy!
ReplyDeleteBruce, not sure where the author got "52 percent income-tax rate" Denmark a taxation system which includes a 25% VAT with it and with an overall tax burden (sum of all taxes) to be 46% in 2011.
ReplyDeleteBut then you say "help enlighten you tea baggers"
We are enlighten Denmark’s support for free trade is extremely high, Denmark is a net exporter of food and energy and has for a number of years had a balance of payments surplus. Ranked as the world's 11th most freest economy, of 162 countries, based on the Wall Street Journal and Heritage Foundation, the Index of Economic Freedom 2008. Denmark is one of the most competitive economies in the world according to World Economic Forum 2008 report, According to rankings by OECD, Denmark has the most freest financial markets in EU-15 and also one of the most freest product markets.
Less government is always good. Too bad Obama and the Dems don't see it that way.
Mark, you really have no idea how much even you rely on "big" government.
ReplyDelete"A Day in the Life of Joe Middle-Class Republican"
Joe gets up at 6:00am to prepare his morning coffee. He fills his pot full of good clean drinking water because some liberal fought for minimum water quality standards. He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to insure their safety and work as advertised.
All but $10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employers medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance, now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs this day. Joe’s bacon is safe to eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.
Joe takes his morning shower reaching for his shampoo; His bottle is properly labeled with every ingredient and the amount of its contents because some liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree hugging liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks to the subway station for his government subsidized ride to work; it saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees. You see, some liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.
Joe begins his work day; he has a good job with excellent pay, medicals benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe’s employer pays these standards because Joe’s employer doesn’t want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed he’ll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some liberal didn’t think he should loose his home because of his temporary misfortune.
Its noon time, Joe needs to make a Bank Deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe’s deposit is federally insured by the FDIC because some liberal wanted to protect Joe’s money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the depression.
Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae underwritten Mortgage and his below market federal student loan because some stupid liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his life-time.
Joe is home from work, he plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive to dads; his car is among the safest in the world because some liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. He was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers Home Administration because bankers didn’t want to make rural loans. The house didn’t have electric until some big government liberal stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and demanded rural electrification. (Those rural Republican’s would still be sitting in the dark)
He is happy to see his dad who is now retired. His dad lives on Social Security and his union pension because some liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn’t have to. After his visit with dad he gets back in his car for the ride home.
He turns on a radio talk show, the host’s keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. (He doesn’t tell Joe that his beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day) Joe agrees, "We don’t need those big government liberals ruining our lives; after all, I’m a self made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have".
"that his beloved Republicans have fought against every protection"
ReplyDeleteYou know full well that (and all) are complete myths.
Bruce NO republican has ever said we need to do away with regulations. The liberal left mis-represents this fully and wholly to denounce the political right, as you have proven here.
What the right is saying is government has gotten TOO big and micro-manages free enterprise to the point that the profits businesses make can't go to hire people, but to pay the numerous cost associated with following government over regulation.
So back to what we were talking about when you dodged my comment.
Mark, this might enlighten you a little.
ReplyDeletehttp://youtu.be/TrvY_5FeOQ4
This is how the right responds to tax policy and they never have any proof that lower taxes lead to job growth. In fact, the opposite is true, but that never matters to conservatives.
Referring to Chile, the reason why taxes went up and their government had to borrow money to privatize their SS, was because the government (like here) took the money to spend on other government programs, but then the time came to pony up the money to get peoples money in to the private accounts, there was none, so they had to borrow it and raise the taxes so pay it back.
ReplyDeleteThis is what happens when you entrust government with YOUR money. They steal it.
Global Warming. LOL! This guy tries to tie smoking cancer research from decades ago and global warming now a days. Notice this hack avoids talking about the emails that showed that the data was cooked.
As for the "50's, 60's, 70's was more prosperous with a higher taxes" claim. What this clown (and you liberals who continue to use this ass poor excuse) failed to mention is that the "marginal rate" was much higher, but the "net rate"(what you actually paid) with the help of deductions (example automotive interest, Credit card interest, etc) was actually lower, somewhere in the realm of 40%
Also his claim that Buffet's secretary pays more in income taxes the he does, is pure BS. Buffet pays about a 20% income tax, BUT he also pays capital gains tax (which is a secondary tax on income) at a rate of 15%, so Buffet's total federal outlay rate is 35%
As for lower taxes vs. employment
Bush tax cut years, unemployment followed suit.
2003 6.0, 2004 5.5, 2005 5.1, 2006 4.6, 2007 4.6
But revenues went up, because MORE people were working.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/ce/Federal_individual_income_tax_receipts_2000-2009.png
So as you can see when you give an incentive to business by lowering taxes, you actually generate more revenue, much more then raising taxes on the rich.
