Dietrich Bonhoeffer: A Lutheran Pastor During The Holocaust In His Own Words

Not to act is to act.  Dietrich Bonhoeffer                We need to look at what is happening in this country and start doing more to stop it. This Aug.28 there will be a rally in Washington DC. If you can go please do. But if you can't find a rally near you that you can go too. There are a lot of radical groups looking to stop these rallies and we must stand together without fear. This isn't about Democrat and Republican but about right and wrong. Both parties must purge themselves of the Progressives inside them. And to rally together is a great way to do that. And when we hear the Progressives talking about taking from the "rich" we need to remind them and ourselves of the Tenth Commandment and it's meaning.

The Tenth Commandment.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his man-servant, nor his maid-servant, nor his cattle, nor anything that is his.

What does this mean?--Answer.
We should fear and love God that we may not estrange, force, or entice away our neighbor's wife, servants, or cattle, but urge them to stay and [diligently] do their duty.

The Manhattan Declaration

Christians, when they have lived up to the highest ideals of their faith, have defended the weak and vulnerable and worked tirelessly to protect and strengthen vital institutions of civil society, beginning with the family.

Because they are increasingly under assault from powerful forces in our culture, we are compelled today to speak out forcefully in their defense, and to commit ourselves to honoring them fully no matter what pressures are brought upon us and our institutions to abandon or compromise them. We need to come together as Christians. This is the beginning of the Christian conservative organizing. We must be willing to do what we need to to insure all religions have freedom to organize and make fundamental change within the political community. The liberals don't want us Christians to have a voice. But we need to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. As a Christian it is our calling to stand up for the same things God tells us to stand up for within the Bible. God bless you all.

Lawsuits continue to block parental notification law

The ACLU has filed another lawsuit to block Illinois' parental notification law for abortions performed on minors.

The law, passed in 1995, has never been implemented because of numerous lawsuits. Recently, a federal court ordered the law into effect by early November.

Tom Brechja of the Thomas More Society, who has been heavily involved in the litigation, says they are gathering their forces. The attorney argues it is just logical for parents to know about a child's request for an abortion, especially when a child just needing a tonsillectomy requires parental consent.

"The attorney general of Illinois would be the main counsel defending this case," Brechja says, "but frankly we don't trust him -- and we want to get in there and intervene on behalf of parents of minor girls and some of the states' attorneys of various counties in Illinois and fight this. It's ridiculous.”

He believes the court ought to bring a halt to the challenges and let the law go into effect. Brechja adds that 80 percent of Illinois parents -- whether pro-life or pro-abortion -- want the law to be implemented. He believes they just want to communicate with their children on such an important issue.

Brechja also finds it interesting that the American Civil Liberties Union claims to be all for free speech -- except for speech between parents and their children.
