Islam Threatens Florida Church For Burning Koran

Hate crimes directed against Muslims remain relatively rare, notwithstanding the notoriety gained by incidents such as recent vandalism at the Madera Islamic Center.

Jews, lesbians, gay men and Caucasians, among others, are all more frequently the target of hate crimes, FBI records show. Reported anti-Muslim crimes have declined over recent years, though they still exceed what occurred prior to the 9-11 terrorist attacks.

"We see hate crimes generally go in spurts, and are often in relation to international or domestic events," Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said Friday.

In 2008, 105 hate crime incidents against Muslims were reported nationwide. There were 10 times as many incidents that were recorded as anti-Jewish during the same year, the most recent for which figures are available.

The number of anti-Muslim hate crimes leaped to a record 481 in 2001, apparently prompted by the terrorist attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center. It hasn't been nearly that high since.
Today in Kabul, hundreds gathered to protest. Getting a jump on things, they burned an effigy of the Pastor Terry Jones.

And now Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in the Afghanistan, is saying that the church’s plan could endanger the lives of American troops in the region.  He told the Wall Street Journal:
“It is precisely the kind of action the Taliban uses and could cause significant problems. Not just here, but everywhere in the world we are engaged with the Islamic community.”
The protest in Kabul today might be a foreshadowing.

Even so, the Pastor Jones and his congregants at the Dove World Outreach center plan to follow through with their plan despite the plea from Gen. Petraeus.
“We understand the General’s concerns. We are sure that his concerns are legitimate.” Nonetheless, he added, “We must send a clear message to the radical element of Islam. We will no longer be controlled and dominated by their fears and threats.”
Now lets take a look at this from all perspectives. I don't agree with the church in FL burning the Koran. But we need to look at it this way as well. That church has the right to burn the Koran just like people have had the right to defile Christian things. That doesn't make it right. The Muslims are asking us to be tolerant of them and their religion when they wont do the same for others. How dangerous is a religion that threatens the welfare of Americans for one church burning the Koran?  Are we to tiptoe around this religion while they do what they please?  Why is the media putting the blame on the church for the actions of Islam? The Muslims have been defiling Christians,Jews and American for decades. Just look at the reaction of these jehad's. According to the Obama admin we are not at war with Islam but Islam is at war with us. Get your head out of you asses and realize the dangers of Islam to all that are not Muslim.

  1. I wish I had stock in companies that manufacture American flags.

In the speed in which muslims purchase them then proceed to burn them at their 'protests' and add to that the volume of those protests I would be a millionaire by now.

  2. President Barack Obama boldly proclaims, "The buck stops here!" But, whenever his policies are criticized, he acts as if the buck stopped with George W. Bush.

The party line that we are likely to be hearing from now until the November elections is that Obama "inherited" the big federal budget deficits and that he has to "clean up the mess" left in the economy by the Republicans. This may convince those who want to be convinced, but it will not stand up under scrutiny.

No President of the United States can create either a budget deficit or a budget surplus. All spending bills originate in the House of Representatives and all taxes are voted into law by Congress.

Democrats controlled both houses of Congress before Barack Obama became president. The deficit he inherited was created by the Congressional Democrats, including Senator Barack Obama, who did absolutely nothing to oppose the runaway spending. He was one of the biggest of the big spenders.

The last time the federal government had a budget surplus, Bill Clinton was president, so it was called "the Clinton surplus." But Republicans controlled the House of Representatives, where all spending bills originate, for the first time in 40 years. It was also the first budget surplus in more than a quarter of a century.

The only direct power that any president has that can affect deficits and surpluses is the power to veto spending bills. President Bush did not veto enough spending bills but Senator Obama and his fellow Democrats in control of Congress were the ones who passed the spending bills.

Today, with Barack Obama in the White House, allied with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi in charge in Congress, the national debt is a bigger share of the national output than it has been in more than half a century. And its share is projected to continue going up for years to come, becoming larger than national output in 2012.

Having created this scary situation, President Obama now says, "Don't give in to fear. Let's reach for hope." The voters reached for hope when they elected Obama. The fear comes from what he has done since taking office.

"The worst thing we could do is to go back to the very same policies that created this mess in the first place," he said recently. "In November, you're going to have that choice."

Another political fable is that the current economic downturn is due to not enough government regulation of the housing and financial markets. But it was precisely the government regulators, under pressure from politicians, who forced banks and other lending institutions to lower their standards for making mortgage loans.

These risky loans, and the defaults that followed, were what set off a chain reaction of massive financial losses that brought down the whole economy.

Was this due to George W. Bush and the Republicans? Only partly. Most of those who pushed the lowering of mortgage lending standards were Democrats -- notably Congressman Barney Frank and Senator Christopher Dodd, though too many Republicans went along.

At the heart of these policies were Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, who bought huge amounts of risky mortgages, passing the risk on from the banks that lent the money (and made the profits) to the taxpayers who were not even aware that they would end up paying in the end.

When President Bush said in 2004 that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac should be reined in, 76 members of the House of Representatives issued a statement to the contrary. These included Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters and Charles Rangel.

  3. Thomas, your aware of the American Dream Downpayment Initiative right? Thats one of the programs Bush pushed to subsidize down payments on homes. It had a large role in the housing collapse as did several of his other programs.

And you are aware of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and its role in our economic collapse? Written by the Same Gramm who was McCain's economic advisor. The collapse was the result of alot of factors the last of which was the bailout of Freddie and Fannie. In fact during the first large investment Bank deals they bought some of the toxic assets off of the banks at request of the republican lead government.

Its intellectually shallow and partisan to blame the crisis only fannie, freddie and the DEMS. The right had its hands as deep in the jar.

  4. Ohh, and don't burn the Quran, Koran, Korea or anything. Just stupid. Your not showing Arabs, Muslims, the world, really anyone anything except that you can be as ignorant and backwards as those that burn bibles and flags on the street.

Please do it in your wood burner on a cold December evening that way it'll provide heat. If you must be backwards hicks and burn the Islamic holy book at least get some economic gain out of it. Although at 45 dollars a face cord i think its cheaper to burn wood.

Top it off how are our soldiers supposed to win hearts and minds with you a-holes attacking their religion?

  7. First off let me say that I am a Christian but I do not agree with the burning of the Quran. That would be disrespectfull to millions of decent Muslims throughout the world. The point I want to make is the quote by President Obama's "Senior" advisor to CNN: "The Reverend may have the right to do what he is doing but it is not right. It is not consistant with our values....I hope his conscience and good since will take hold". End of quote. When the people of the United States raised a voice against a Mosque being built near ground zero, their response was, "In this country, they have the right to do what they want". There was no disclaimer about right and wrong, nor any word on our "Values".
Strange group that staff for the president.

  8. A greater Nashville resident and outspoken opponent of the construction of a Murfreesboro mega-mosque in Tennessee has received two death threats after an appearance on the comedy program The Daily Show.

Laurie Cardoza-Moore, founder and president of Proclaiming Justice to the Nations, is a staunch pro-Israel supporter. She says she received two threatening phone calls after appearing on the popular comedy cable program and expressing opposition to the mosque's proposed expansion.

"[The caller said] 'Allahu akbar' [Arabic for 'god is great'] -- and he said, 'We are coming after you. You cannot stop us," she explains.

Cardoza-Moore is outraged and believes past Islamic extremist activity -- like the two teenage girls in Dallas who were allegedly murdered by their father in what family members described as "honor killings" -- should cause concern for all Americans and the nation's future.

"Is that what we want for the United States of America?" she asks. "Because look at what's happened to Europe, look at what's happened in other countries where this has taken root. They are not here because they want to enjoy our freedoms -- they're coming to get us to submit to sharia law."

And according to Cardoza-Moore, some of those advocating for the Murfreesboro mosque have ties to terrorist groups. "One of the board members of the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro is tied to Hamas," she states. "He had a MySpace page where he was recruiting Muslims to spot and to kill Jews to 'free Palestine.'"

As far as Cardoza-Moore is concerned, that is "unacceptable" in the Nashville area and in the United States. "And not only should they not be allowed to build a 53,000-square-foot mega-mosque, they shouldn't be allowed to operate in the mosque that they have currently," she adds.

The Rutherford County sheriff's department is investigating the case, as are two federal agencies, one of them the FBI.
