LCMS President Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison appeared before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on Thursday, Feb. 16., to discuss the recent U. S. Health and Human Services Ruling regarding contraceptives. On behalf of the LCMS, Harrison spoke to the issue violating citizens' freedom of religion and freedom of conscience.
This man spoke for me and millions of Americans today.
The best the left-wingers can throw at these religious leaders is to call them sexist...
Where is freedom of conscience in the Constitution?
ReplyDeleteFirstm Amendment. Where is controlling birth in the Constitution? Where is it any of the governments business to control birth? If the government gives rights like the right to free birth control and abortion pills they can take them away. Right now men and women have the right to control their own contraception. Do you really want the government in charge of birth control?
ReplyDeleteI like this guy. Wow!
ReplyDeleteMSNBC have been calling these men every name in the book. Sexist biggot has been used often. I thought Rev. Jesse Jackson was going to have a stroke.
ReplyDeletePlease point out the words "Freedom of Conscience" in the first amendment for me? I think i need glasses because i can't see it.
ReplyDelete"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances"
Freedom of religion gives us freedom of conscience. Do you understand yet?
ReplyDeleteTry looking at it from a religious perspective. Try not being so myopic.
ReplyDeleteGoing away from strict constructionist then?
ReplyDeleteI don't see how in hiring and providing services to non-believers that they exercising any religious beliefs so they should be expected to meet all the laws of the nation without fail. Churches are different than the Hospitals run by supposed Catholic businesses.
You don't see it because you don't want to. Why is it any of the governments business to get involved in any beliefs of those that host the hospitals. I know you want your free stuff at any cost but your own.
ReplyDeleteObama stepped in it this time. He must not have known it was in the bill. These MEN are the neo-Black Robe Regiment, calling for revolution.
ReplyDeleteRick and Karen Santorum, the least charitable of the 4 major candidates? That's what we find on the 2010 returns.
ReplyDeleteAnd Obama and Bidden gave less then 1 percent before the 2007 election. What percent did Santorum give?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Santorum gave more as a percent then both Obama and Bidden. Santorum gave less then 2 percent. Not good by any standard.
ReplyDeleteOur church's sermon and bible study was on this very issue today. The democrats in our church are livid at the democratic party. This has become a deal breaker for them.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, Chris stop lying.
ReplyDeleteFrom 2000 to 2004 the Obama's charitable giving was around 1 percent. However his last 4 years have all been higher than Santorums by percentage.
2005 4.7%
2006 6.1%
2007 5.7%
2008 6.5%
2009 5.9%
2010 13.9%
So even if you give Obama 0% for those 4 years he still averages more than Santorum at 3.6 %
Santorum's last 4 years have averaged 2% with his lowest year being 2010.
So if we are to judge the chairtable giving between Rick and Barack its clear that Obama is giving more than Rick "I'm the Christian" Santorum.
Your a liar Chris!
Why the republicans don't think Santorum's lack of charitable giving isn't a deal breaker i don't know, but they don't.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Bidden? He gave less then 1.
ReplyDeleteLiar??? JoeC I said,"And Obama and Bidden gave less then 1 percent before the 2007 election." 2000 thru 2004 is before the 2007 election right? Poor JoeC is coming unhinged AGAIN. lol
ReplyDeleteChris,
ReplyDeleteI'm coming unhinged? Your not even making sense. The election was in 2008 and if you take only 2007 through 2000 he gave almost 2.3 percent which is higher than less than one percent.
Only a liar caught in a lie would only use 2000-2004 and call that before the election of 2007.
I gave you the evidence to refute your petty out of context lies and you call me unhinged? That's too bad because your being such a little snot nosed brat. 2009 Santorum made a million dollars and gave one percent. In 2000-2004 Obama made 230,000ish and gave less than one percent. See the difference yet?
Once again JoeC you show me your not coming unhinged. Lol. "snot nosed brat". Lol that's a gem. I just love you liberals.
ReplyDeleteJoe I did say that I didn't like the fact that Santorum didn't give much to charity.
The 2007 elections, the 2007 elections are coming...
ReplyDeleteChris had lost his marbles again.
Who said anything about the 2007 elections coming? Relax little buddy. You sound like your one sleepless night away from covering yourself in dog crap and tinfoil. Keep up the good work Anon.
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned the 2007 election, not me. I just turned it into Chris Revere's ride as humor. You know that thing you don't have.
DeleteAnonymous, you's sound's smart's.
ReplyDeleteThe Pope and Obama are on the same stage in Yankee Stadium in front of a huge crowd.
ReplyDeleteThe Pope leans towards Mr. Obama and said, "Do you know that with one little wave of my hand I can make every person in this crowd go wild with joy? This joy will not be a momentary display, but will go deep into their hearts and they'll forever speak of this day and rejoice!"
Obama replied, "I seriously doubt that! With one little wave of your hand?...Show me!"
So the Pope backhanded him and knocked him off the stage!
AND THE CROWD ROARED & CHEERED WILDLY and there was happiness throughout the land!
Kind of brings a tear to your eye, doesn't it?
But the Pope believes in Global warming so he must be and evil socialist.
ReplyDeleteA lot of people believed in global warming until the science and scientists data was proven to be a hoax.
