  1. Talk is cheap!
As the mom of a soldier, this is frustrating!

  2. Mari it must be very hard knowing what you know about Obama while having a son serving our country. I'm sure it's harder for our soldiers seeing how the C&C treats the fallen soldiers by giving a shout out. That was the last straw for me. I've been letting the President do his business but not any more.

  3. I feel for you Mari. I have a lot of friends serving and they feel that the have a poor leader right now. Hopefuly things will change and Obama will get his act together. His heart isn't in the "game" but our kids lives are.

  4. Chris - I watched that video - and for a moment I thought it was a set up for a satire being done by Saturday Night Live. The arguments for and against Obama's Afghanistan policy could consume pages, so I won't go there. Simply put, I disagree with your premise that Obama doesn't care about our troops. Some of the points in the video may be valid, but then that video was not meant to be serious journalism was it? If it was, there would have been two sides to the issues - and let the viewers decide. One can safely say, it was presented purely as a criticism of Obama. Sort of like Fox who make a mockery of "fair and balanced". Most of the points were simply ridiculous. I would venture to say that the vast majority of people go about their lives almost as if the war in Iraq and Afghanistan didn't exist. Tragic as that may be, but we have never been on a "War footing" since Bush invaded Iraq. The only ones intimately involved are the troops and their families.

  5. We don't get both sides on Maddow and Olbermann do we? Did the blogs on the left give both sides with Bush? Crying it's not fair is not a good argument. So what I'm getting from you vomamike is that you think Obama is doing a fine job with everything he has done with the military? His shout out was classy and caring.LOL. And his pause to do nothing with Afghanistan is OK with the military servicepeople??? Nice to see you through in Fox News as if that has anything to do with the price of tea in Afghanistan. I see you still blame Bush for everything and cry when we blame the current President for current events. No Responsablity to the Democrats. Is that your mado?

  6. vomamike it is nice to hear your views. What do you think about all the other posts on this blog and the others that add up to one crappy president? Moveon.org doesn't have enough comebacks for all the problems he is making. Is that why you and most liberals are silent on most issues? For goodness sake Mike he can't even lead the Democrats to passing the healthcare bill. And swine flu has been handled worse then a Church fund raiser. Suporters are jumping off the Obama/Pelosi/Reid train at record, yes I did say record numbers.

  7. Chris - oh yes you do get both sides with Maddow and Olbermann. In fact, that is often where they start - from the premise of the Right and THEN they inject their objections.

As for Bush - I have to admit, there was damn little he did that I liked. But for the most part, it was policy that was objected to - not his life style.

Interesting you blame Obama for the slow progress on the swine flu vaccine. Last I heard it was the pharmaceutical companies that controlled that process - not the government.

And as for Obama and the military - well, I think you are making a mountain of a very small molehill about some "shout-out" that I missed. But getting to real substance - what is it about the Obama/military circumstances that you don't like? Is it the fact that he is taking careful measure of our goals in Afghanistan before he sends more troops into harms way? Is it his careful deliberations that has you upset? Are you so callous about our troops becoming so much fodder, that you would chose to perhaps send them to their death without first determining the need and the goal?

Leaving aside the merit of the House passed health care legislation - I find it interesting that only one Republican voted for it, but what a couple dozen Democrats voted no. I don't know what that tells you, but it tells me that as a group, Democrats are more independent than Republicans. You may say, well it shows the Republicans were united and the Democrats were not. I say it shows that the Republicans can't think for themselves whereas Democrats can. If you had any statistic classes in college, you would know that statistically speaking, more Republicans should have voted yes - except for the "lock step" REQUIRED by the Right. In my mind, it wasn't the lack of merit, that forced those Republicans to vote no, but a political requirement by the RNC. Hardly independent thinking wouldn't you say?

I do not have the time I once had to check all your postings and comments. But when i can, I shall.

  8. vomamike: As a member of the U.S. military, I can assure you he is not making a mountain of a molehill. The morale of the military has been on a steady decline since he took office. This man is about as good of a commander and chief as I am a dancer, not good at all.

  9. vomamike the govt controls a pandemic. They work with pharma and let pharma make its money. But the govt controls who gets what when and how. Did you ever notice on your news that gov't buy the anti viral meds like Tamiflu? The govt has it's hand in the whole proces.

  11. Mike, Obama has his Generals ready to quit over this lack of repect for their direction. With all do respect what has he done that makes you think he can run a war better then his Generals? What has he done top prepare him for running these wars? He won an election and that is all he did. His Generals have been fighting this war while Obama was defending ACORN as a community organizer. Obama needs to do what we pay the Generals to do. Obama needs to start respecting the military or get the hell out of these wars. Soldiers are getting killed at an alarming rate while nothing gets done. He sees SEIU more then McCrystel.
